Damian Lillard injury: Bucks star out indefinitely with deep vein thrombosis in right calf
Lillard has been put on blood-thinning medication, which has stabilized the situationwww.cbssports.com
So glad I didn't adjust for eastern time and tuned in just as the second half was kicking off.Spurs made 2 fields in the second quarter.

That's kinda wild. That injury looked so bad. As someone who has had way too many ankle injuries doing the same thing, I almost threw up last night watching that. I get so queasy when I see dudes roll their ankles like thatCeltics appear to have dodged a bullet. Tatum left the arena last night without crutches or a walking boot with only a slight limp. He says it’s just sore but they will be cautious not to rush him back. Boston has nothing to play for the last 10 games. Mazzulla said he won’t be out long.
As the Bucks tried to repeat as NBA champions in the spring of 2022, Middleton lost his footing in Game 2 of the Bucks’ first-round series against the Chicago Bulls. He suffered a left MCL sprain that kept him out of the second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who eventually beat the Bucks in seven games. In 2023, Miami Heat forward Kevin Love slid underneath Antetokounmpo to draw a charge in the first quarter of Game 1 of the Bucks’ first-round series. The lower back contusion Antetokounmpo suffered during the play kept him out a majority of the series and the Bucks lost to the Heat in five games. In the 79th game of the Bucks’ 2023-24 campaign, Antetokounmpo suffered a left soleus (calf) strain against the Celtics. That injury forced him to miss the rest of the regular season and the Bucks’ first-round series against the Indiana Pacers. Lillard also struggled with his health, suffering a right Achilles injury that limited him throughout the series and forced him to miss games 4 and 5.
Through Tuesday, Şengün and Adams have played 210 possessions together. According to Cleaning the Glass, the Rockets have a whopping 127.1 offensive rating and a stingy 91.5 defensive rating in that span. Their plus-35.6 net rating is in the 100th percentile for any two-man pairing in the NBA — and by quite some distance. Contrary to the belief that playing two centers would bring everything to a screeching halt, Houston’s pace when both are on the floor is 101.5, which would be fifth-fastest in the league. An unsung hero of the Houston Rockets this season is Steven Adams. The two big lineup with Sengun has been a problem for most teams. Great defensive presence who seems to gobble up all loose balls (pause) . I'd put him up there in elite rebounder territory with the likes of Rodman. Hope he stays here for many years and remains healthy![]()

Rockets’ jumbo lineup with Steven Adams, Alperen Şengün could thrive in playoffs
Playing two centers who don't space the floor isn't supposed to work in the modern NBA. But Houston is finding success with it.www.nytimes.com
Adams is one of the best team rebounders I’ve ever seen. So many of Westbrook’s rebounds when he was with the Thunder were a result of Adams basically blocking out the entire opposition. He’s so much so fun. One of the toughest and most physical guys in the league but he does it without being dirty. Seeing him destroy a guard with a an actual non-moving screen is one of the best things to watch in the NBA. He sent someone from the Hawks into the shadow realm the other night.

LeBron only has 2 points midway through the 3rd, streak in jeopardy.

All Whites out there again tonight.Celtics with 5 "whites" on the floor at one time. (One being Derrick White, but close enough)
Only one of the Caucasians is a Euro, too. With Cooper Flagg coming on next year, the white American NBA player is making a comeback!
They are up 30 after 3 quarters. Maybe ease off the single or few possession takesI came home and turned on the Celtics game and am happy to see they are up 25 right before the half.
They proceed to have 3 consecutive 0-pass possessions (Holiday, Brown & Pritchard) where the guy dribbling it up the floor just dances with the ball and then shoots a poor stepback three and misses it. Pritchard's was an airball right before the buzzer. Meanwhile the Suns score 6 points and they go to the half up only 19.
That's like grade school level poor shot selection. It's like a bunch of dudes just decided it was their turn and they weren't going to pass. Maybe one of them was a 2 for 1 decision, but still, you can at least try and throw 1 pass in there.
Oh, I know it was just a short term bad stretch but those habits make me nervous in the playoffs. They are up 30 after 3 quarters. Maybe ease off the single or few possession takesI came home and turned on the Celtics game and am happy to see they are up 25 right before the half.

Really? I work from home and have ESPN on pretty much all day as background noise. Every time LeBron is mentioned they comment how amazing he’s doing at his age. What James is doing at his age is just insane, and how the sports media treats him just proves what he said last week is totally true. When Tom Brady was still playing at a high level in his 40s, most NFL analysts were praising him at nearly every opportunity. When LeBron James does it, many NBA talking heads either don't mention it or downplay it. A buddy sent me a clip the other day of Shannon Sharpe saying to Screaming A. Smith, "Look at what LeBron James is doing at age 40," and Smith replied, "So what?" So disrespectful, and the Screaming One is just one of many like that.Graphic they just showed on the Lakers telecast:
Seasons - NOP 23, LeBron 22
Reg Season wins - NOP 848, LeBron 1.000
Playoff wins - NOP 22, LeBron 183
Crazy

#5's effort was pretty weak. You don't want to foul, but he basically just watched LeBron and didn't try to do anything on that rebound.I know, right? I'm pretty sure that almost every person that follows basketball would list LeBron as no less than the second best player of all-time - and I hear analysts praising what he's doing at his age as incredible almost any time i turn on ESPN and they're discussing the NBA (which isn't that often anymore, but enough to feel I can speak competently to it).I know, right? Looked him up, it is Jarace Walker and he only played 8 minutes total in that game. Must be a good defender to be in on that possession, but if he tries to get to the rebound at all he could have at least made it difficult to tip it.
Nice finish, although Luka did his best to completely blow the game. I counted three absolute blow-bys in the final few minutes. He is a total defensive liability.Lakers with a miracle finish. As close as it can possibly get.

I think the Wizards got a little nervous after going 6-4 over a 10-game stretch and now all their vets are coming down with injuries. Now guys like Jaylen Martin, Colby Jones, and JT Thor are getting big minutes. And yet they still beat the 76ers last night, after losing five in a row. I suspect Poole will be "injured" soon. Not much risk of losing a bottom-three record, but they need to continue giving their youngest players the most minutes possible.
Celtics with a home game last night in Phoenix. Absolutely destroyed the Suns.
Suns are horrible to watch. Embarrassing they still may find their way into play in as Kings are equally horrible and Mavs have everyone hurt.
I'm still amazed the Kings couldn't find a way to get Castle in the Fox deal and settled for Lavine's terrible contract and a 1st rounder 25 years from now
