2024 College Football Thread: Ohio State advances to play unbeaten hypothetical SEC team (2 Viewers)

Just a thought that NIL and the portal will mean skill position talent is going to be more widely distributed, leading to more schools putting up impressive records. But the size and speed on OL/DL is still concentrated with the traditional powerhouses. Unless that shifts, we will keep seeing mostly blowouts thru the quarterfinals

To be clear, though - Texas has 19 yards rushing. And ASU has more total yards than Texas. Texas has those three big plays. And ASU can't block Texas's DL. But its not a complete mismatch.

Agree it's more close talent wise than last night's game. Boise is 74th ranked in talent per that link posted earlier. ASU is top 35. I have not seen much of him, but the ASU QB looks solid and their DL has played well. I put $s on ASU at +13.5. Seemed like a high number but Vegas rarely misses and they are right on the number at this moment.

Clearly I’m paying more attention to this thread than to the game in front of me :lmao: . But I think my point was pretty valid for the first round and last night.

In more important news, ASU is #3 ranked hottest women and Texas is #9. Which puts them both at least 100 spots ahead of Boise State.

Also, great 4th down play call :bored:

Sort of rhetorical question, but I mean you go to the sugar bowl and they move the game, assume you are sol for your flight and hotels and stuff

Michigan easily had the hardest schedule in the nation.
Thanks. What ranking source do you like for strength of schedule?
I usually just look at end of the season’s records. Texas schedule wasn’t strong by SEC standards, but looks better now with how Michigan progressed.

Thank you.

This one had Michigan #1 https://collegefootballnetwork.com/2024-college-football-strength-of-schedule/

I like the the ESPN Power Ranking tool and the "Resume" metrics. They had Michigan #5. https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume/sort/resume.avgsosrank/dir/asc

It's an interesting thing to try and measure.

Texas coaches have blown this game. Might get away with it. But up multiple scores and had Ewers dropping back every play. Run the clock Sark.
