2024 New York Football Giants (hello darkness my old friend) (1 Viewer)

Holy crap !
No. 34 in the second round, No. 99 in the third round, and a 2026 third-round pick for a guy they coulve gotten with No. 34 in the second round
Worst case Sanders who every analyst is screaming should have been gone by now would have been there

Unreal how bad GMs that make millions of $$$$ could be !
Sirius radio was indicating the Rams were going to take him at #26, and traded down right after. So, questionable that they could have gotten him at #34. #99 and next years 3rd doesn't seem too steep to get the guy they wanted along with the 5th year option in play by getting him in the 1st.

And what is an "Aryan Ole Miss Hail Mary"?

Giants traded up to take Jaxson Dart QB Ole Miss
Don’t like this with Sanders not picked yet. There were other options at their second round pick as the rest of the 1st round showed. They could have gotten a QB there and not wasted valuable picks. We have so many holes to fill.

This is EXACTLY the reason why I am happy the giants didn’t pick sanders. Anywhere in the draft. Woe betide the team that does.

Look at him sideways during a walk through and the team can expect a twitter tirade or back seat coaching through the press. It will be constant sideshows.

I’m not sure I buy into the sentiment about waiting around just because Sanders and Milroe are also on the board. So they should just sit back and risk the guy they like being taken so they can turn around and select someone who they don’t really like? That makes no sense. The coaches and front office staff spent an inordinate amount of time analyzing and sitting down with these guys. They got way more access than the talking heads on TV and YouTube “analysts”. If this is the guy they feel comfortable with go get him. They really didn’t give up that much.

I don’t really know if Dart will be any good, but you can say that for 95% of the QBs taken. I’m not in anyway defending the coach or GM, they both should have been fired and never in a position to make this pick. I do know that Dart’s perceived deficiency is in processing, and a year with the supposed QB Whisperer HC might improve that. That’s why Dabs is still here. If not, they will all be gone anyway.

Sounds familiar

this seems like a decent start getting a game wrecker and probably qbotf who can learn for a year
trading any current Edge rusher KT maybe today?

100% sure Dart would not have been available at 34. No one wanted Sanders or Milroe as you can see them still sitting there in the middle of round 3. Giants in my opinion did what they had to do to take the player they wanted.
I think youre right ...I can't beleive Shough (Rnd 2, Pick 8) went before Sanders and Milroe. Looking at the Giants draft so far pretty impressed ... Carter is an absolute beast, they landed their QB (late 1st rd) who clearly appears to be the best QB option avail and filled their DT need with a Leonard Williams type DT.

Giants should try to trade Jameis to the Steelers for a 4th or 5th ... He's got a great 2 year contract ... he could be insurance if they cant land Rodgers or Solid BU if they do

I heard from a guy who knows a guy who's cousin knows the head janitor at Giants headquarters that phone calls are being made in regards to Winston.

It must be pretty serious

Skattebo looks like he is going to be pretty fun ... but I cant imagine this guy will last more than 3 years in the NFL with that running style
Guy thinks he's Earl Campbell

Like the Giants draft but looks like they ran out of steam for the UDFAs
Terrible list of players they brought in
How many UDFA's actually make an NFL roster? Just curious
like 10% I think ... last year Jake Kubas and Elijiah Chapman and Bryce For Wheaten is still on the team from 2023
In the 2024 NFL season, roughly 80 undrafted free agents (UDFAs) were on Week 1 rosters.

Historically there have been Hall of famers particularly Olineman. Victor Cruz and Rich Seubert were UDFAs
I know it's unlikely, but like the lottery you have to be in it to win it.
How much different is a UDFA than a 6 or 7 round pick?

I like the idea of adding Juice Wells given he played with Dart. None of these players are going to make or break a team and are really just flyers where maybe someone can help you on special teams and breakout and become a starter down the road. Getting a Victor Cruz like result is very very rare.

Top 30 undrafted players in NFL history

In the 2024 NFL season, there were likely more undrafted free agents (UDFAs) on NFL rosters than 7th-round draft picks.
Jordan Malaita was barely drafted rd 7 pick 15 (expected Round 7/PFA)

This is not surprising at all given there are a total 32 7th round picks and each team usually signs 10 to 20 or so undrafted free agents. I think the chiefs signed like 30 last year. They had 1 7th round draft pick.

I wonder how many times agents tell teams not to draft their players in the 7th round with them preferring to sign as an UDFA with a team that they have a better chance of making the roster with.

Seriouly ... That would be huge
Of course we would lose him as a free agent next year ... So it would probably benefit the Eagles more than us
Also he should be getting his shotat LG since that is the side that he has had the most success in College

I never understood why they didn't try him at G last year.

They put in a lot of time into researching the QBs and they picked one and moved up to get him, so Dart is clearly the guy they're hitching their wagon to. I'm willing to be patient and let them develop Dart and see if they can turn things around. They really screwed up with Jones and some other things but Dart is the first QB picked by this staff. Everything depends on whether they can turn Dart into a long term starter. I don't want or expect Dart to play much this year so next year is when we should start seeing what they saw in Dart.
