Did anyone wear those silly looking jumbo padded helmets?

I'm all for them, just wondered if anyone would actually be wearing them during games this year.
Was there something written by the University of Stanford saying there’s no evidence they help with concussions?

Tua sharp in his only drive, no Tyreek or Waddle. 2 passes to Cracraft including a TD, 2 to Jonnu, 1 to Julian Hill.

Achane with 2 catches for 34 from Skylar, a sign of things to come? Mostert was in on the Tua drive, he's still #1a.

Jets/Panthers had no starters playing. Sort of a waste of time.

Braelon Allen didn't even get the start. It was Isaiah Davis getting the first carries. Jets starting DL/CB/LB not playing.

I missed this per the Athletic.

"Rookie Braelon Allen also gained 27 yards on eight carries"

This particular preseason it has been obvious that teams' preseason priorities are a long way from what fans want to see.

I don't think they place much weight on cohesiveness, and first team performance. They are trying to evaluate individual performances.

The only way to enjoy this bad football is to focus on individual performances, and be able to form an opinion on some of these young guys.

Russell Wilson is your PIT starter
Fields >>> Wilson for the 1st half
I don't think a team can go through a season with a QB who cannot run the offense for 4 quarters. Can't freelance an entire season. At some point, you want the guy to drop 5 steps, and fire a pass. He can't do that regularly
I know what you are trying to say, but Wilson looks like all those things apply to him.

No, he is not taking Rachaad White’s job.

Yes, the Bucs did draft Bucky Irving in the 4th round.

Yes, he did face-plant hard after having the RB2 job heading into last season.

But I still like Sean Tucker. As good as he looked last preseason, he looks even better this time around. Unlike last year, he’s had a full offseason of training along with a year learning the playbook.

As things stand, I expect him to go into the season as the Bucs RB3 and one of their main KR. The latter is what will keep active on game day. Pass protection is still a work in progress for him. White and Irving will carry the ball. But if either of those have to miss time, especially if it’s White, I think Tucker will be a lot more interesting.

Noted. I did note that the Carolina GM that was on local television was stressing that they're looking at individuals and each one's athleticism/physical gifts.

Thanks for the comment, mass.

Tampa’s run game is going to be much improved.

Jaylen Wright was kept out of the Dolphins game. I choose to believe the Fins are hiding their secret weapon till September.
I don't think so, that a premature evaluation and wishful thinking. Wright had 11 carries in game 1 versus backups, 3 nice runs. Miami played studs Mostert and Achane in preseason gm 2 to give them some work, while Wright was held out due to something minor (we almost never know what it is) and he got lots of reps in gm 1.

Wright looks good, but Mostert and Achane were great and elite last year. He's not a special teamer, unless they put him on the KR team instead of Malik who's paired with Berrios. I think he should return KOs. If not, Jeff Wilson could be active on game day ahead of Wright. Draft him in redraft for the long game, and possible injury to Mostert or Achane who is a good receiver ... he caught a ton of passes in high school lined up at WR.

It's preseason. Which I usually put little stock in.
So that being said my observations are:

Daniel Jones showed a lot of "rust" in his first game action off a tough injury.
But he settled down the more snaps he got and made some nice throws.
Not saying he'll be All-Pro this year but I think he'll do well.

Malik Nabors is quarterback proof and will be a stud.

The Steelers have serious questions at quarterback.
Wilson looks like the Wilson from last year, not the Wilson from Seattle.
Fields looks like...well...Fields.

I don't see a regression from C.J. Stroud like some talking heads are spewing.
I think he continues to grow in an offense that looks better than last years.
And an improved defense. I think Houston dominates their division and goes deep into the playoffs.

The Bills have some work to do on both sides of the ball.
I think their defense will be ok but I'd be worried about their offense keeping up.

Caleb Williams is the real deal.
Stop the Mahomes comparisons.
They'll be comparing someone to him in five years.

The Niners biggest issue isn't Brandon Aiyuk,it's keeping the players who ARE there healthy.

The Cowboys biggest issue IS not having Lamb in camp.
They need him more than the Niners need Aiyuk.

Just my 2cent observations

Purdy starting the first three series....with mostly a second string offense ....seems like an unnecessary risk
