Agreed. In a dynasty, I bought very low on Rice late last season and am loving him as my RB3. He has a nice late season schedule as well.Buy low on Rice, people. I'm tellin' ya.
Lot of noise in the media about this but I've watched Kubes for a long time and Rice is going to fit in just fine with what he likes to do. He also doesn't like to "split" the backfield so this is going to be one of those 70/30 deals and Rice is the guy to have. They are going to want those two TEs on the field as much as possible in this offense and that bodes well for Rice as a receiver also with the short screens, etc.
do they really care what Rice "likes" at this point? He was the focal point of their offense at a point in time but I think that ship has sailed and they need to think about their future as well as their present. If Rice is a candidate to be cut due to his cap hit they may look to see what they have in the pipeline.Buy low on Rice, people. I'm tellin' ya.

The true buy low was before his suspension was announced. I got him at 7.2 in one if my early redraft leagues. He went 5.3 in the other. I also traded for him in a dynasty league though I'm sure some Lacy lovers will think it's not enough. But I got Rice, Stacy and a 2015 1st (late). I know I probably could not have gotten that deal done after his suspension was announced.Buy low on Rice, people. I'm tellin' ya.

THe dead money on him for next season would be $9.5M. They have more incentive to get something from him than move away from him.do they really care what Rice "likes" at this point? I agree where you bought was a better spot but he can still be had for cheap. Maybe not the optimal point but still pretty cheap given the current perception and the suspension. The true buy low was before his suspension was announced. Hopefully it stays the same as it is now and people aren't sure whether Rice or Pierce will be the main guy. He's one of the perfect guys to target for people starting off WR/WR this year.I've been targeting him in most of my mocks. Thing is most of my drafts take place after that last preseason game. I wonder where he ends up getting drafted as we get closer to the regular season.
I tend to agree with this. Use some of the positive buzz about Pierce in camp and the 2 game suspension to nab Rice cheaply. He isn't going anywhere, and as bad as both of them were last season Rice still outplayed Pierce in ypc and ypr.Buy low on Rice, people. I'm tellin' ya.

Bernard Pierce - RB - Ravens
ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley suggests Bernard Pierce's running style is a better fit for Baltimore's offense than Ray Rice.
"The one-cut style of (Pierce) seems to be a more natural fit to Gary Kubiak's stretch running scheme," wrote Hensley. With Rice going in the fifth round, Pierce offers the best value in Baltimore's backfield with an eighth-round Average Draft Slot. Lorenzo Taliaferro isn't getting drafted at all. The fourth-round pick is worth monitoring in all leagues and stashing in deeper ones.

Rice looked good as well before exiting with the shoulder injury. From what I can tell, Pierce is clearly better value in the 8th, especially in standard leagues. Ultimately, however I'm not sure I really want either as I foresee them cannibalizing each others touches all year.Pierce looking good tonight - 7 carries for 55 yards, including a 30 yard run.

How people are still taking Rice in the 5th is beyond me.
No one should be paying attention to the bias blue text. I just don't see the value in taking a dude who's going to play a max of 14 games, has shown signs of wear and will likely be losing more early down work than ever in his career that early. Dude's only 28, he most likely hasn't slowed down, or wore down. Posters have offered many explanations to his very poor year last year, all of which have more plausibility than his wearing down. Worth noting, Pierce joined Rice in the suck last season sugginsting the Ravens offense had a lot to do with the their struggles. No one should be paying attention to the bias blue text. Age isn't as important as actual touches in this scenario. Here's an interesting stat, since 2011 no RB aside from Lynch (1009) has touched the ball more than Ray Rice (957). If I remember correctly, the injury he suffered last year was a non-contact injury. I agree the OL play was piss poor (PFF had them ranked 23rd) but given the aforementioned information you absolutely need to take into account that he may be wearing down prematurely. If anything, the poor OL play may have helped mask this fact. There's too many red flags for me to spend an early-ish round pick on him. I understand the PPR upside but he's just too pricey for me considering all the variables (suspension, workload, wear and etc.)Dude's only 28, he most likely hasn't slowed down, or wore down. And I'm not worried about the missed games. Suspensions go in the category of over emphasized considerations in this hobby. 14 games of Ray Rice + 2 games of replacement roughly equals 16 games of Ray Rice. If I got donuts for the two games Rice doesn't play, I might feel differently. I can find somebody else to fill in, in fact most of the time I will have Pierce on the same team as Rice.
His bad year last year, the suspension, and this Pierce hype has drugged the fantasy community into a fit amnesia. He's still a good, if not great running back. A potential time share similar to last year doesn't scare me. For the same amount of work as last season and a significantly improved efficiency, Ray Rice will serve owners well as a 5th round selection.
For the record, I always get Pierce on the teams I get Rice. They go together like peas and carrots. I'm pretty sure one of them will do well this season.

There isn't any empirical data to back this up, but it flies in the face of my conventional wisdom. In my view, age matters and workload doesn't. I see no way more total carries will diminish a running back's ability.Age isn't as important as actual touches in this scenario.
seriously. Im not worried on bit. He was thought of being the top pick 2 years ago. And a lot of things have changed since last year going in the right direction. Weight, oline, and offensive cordinator. When was the last time kubiak shared a backfield going back to 1995?Dude's only 28, he most likely hasn't slowed down, or wore down. PFF tried to tackle the subject years ago. There was more, but the links don't work anymore (part 2 of the linked topic does though). I would assume that there's a very strong correlation between workload and age but there are some circumstances, like in Rice's case, where the workload is higher than average in respect to age. I just don't see how you could discount his workload over the past three years and say "oh, well he's only 28".There isn't any empirical data to back this up, but it flies in the face of my conventional wisdom. I stated my reasoning as to why I'm not buying multiple times in which wear was just one variable. We don't have to agree, and like I said, I can understand the appeal. Rice got a lot of carries because he's good. And now you hold the evidence of his talent against him. He's still in the prime of his career, and you're jumping ship. I don't get it.
I really can't stress enough just how weak your straw man are. You're just a big ol pitcher full of logical fallacy and it's only slightly entertaining.are you also projecting a worn out arm for drew brees?
Lorenzo Taliaferro - RB - Ravens
Ravens rookie RB Lorenzo Taliaferro rushed 16 times for 59 yards and a touchdown and caught his lone target for a gain of ten yards in Saturday night's second preseason game against Dallas.
Taliaferro worked behind Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce for the second straight preseason game, running with the second- and third-team offenses. He's shown an impressively powerful running approach, although Taliaferro's upright style may have contributed to his fumble Saturday night, which was recovered by rookie QB Keith Wenning. We're not yet ready to rule Taliaferro out of Baltimore's running back picture. He runs angry and can pass block.

I don't think you understand the meaning of your words. He makes an analogy, not a straw man. Passing off the comparison because pass attempts doesn't wear down an arm like a rush attempt doesn't mean he has created a straw man. He doesn't try to debate with you about a qb's arm strength, only show a flaw in your logic.I really can't stress enough just how weak your straw man are. Using an analogy to establish an argument is fine as long as the analogy is valid. His analogy is far from valid (unless you think wear between QBs and RBs is even remotely comparable) and is in fact absurd, pushing it into the realm of purposely trying to misrepresent my position. There's absolutely no flaw in my logic, where I believe there to be a correlation between a heavy workload and increased propensity for injury; it's actually called common sense.I don't think you understand the meaning of your words. I still like this guy the most of all of these Baltimore RBs from a value perspective, at least in dynasty. He seems like he is at least a solid runner, and, perhaps most importantly as a rookie, he's very strong in pass protection and can catch. That's huge for any rookie. I wouldn't be surprised if he outshines Pierce in limited action during those first two games that Rice is out, and then slowly carves himself out a larger and larger role as the season rolls on. I also could see Rice getting cut in the offseason if he underperforms, saving the Ravens a decent amount of money and cap space.Rotoworld:

He would not get cut since his contract is virtually guaranteed (he has $3M salaries in 2015/2016). There's a better chance he gets traded since he'd be on a 2 year/$6M non-guaranteed contract for his new team and the Ravens would get some compensation for the dead money.I still like this guy the most of all of these Baltimore RBs from a value perspective, at least in dynasty. It was rough to say the leastNice way for Pierce to capitalize his opportunities.......
Does anyone know what is going on with Taliaferro? I saw him play at the Dome vs the Saints and I thought he looked very good. Why is he stuck behind Forsett? Usual rookie stuff with blocking and receiving and learning curve? Forsett seemed to be doing quite well yesterday. Ray Rice - RB - Ravens
Yahoo! Sports' Dan Wetzel has been "texting with team officials around the NFL," and the belief around the league is that the Ravens will release Ray Rice.
We don't typically use Wetzel as a source, but his words are worth noting. Multiple team officials believe the Ravens simply "have to" release Rice after the video of him knocking out his then-fiancee in a hotel elevator in February came to light on Monday. If the Ravens were to keep Rice rostered, pay him, and play him, they'd face severe backlash. Current and ex-NFL players have already taken to Twitter calling for Rice's head. There's a real chance Rice may get cut and never play again.
