2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (6 Viewers)

I lost about 2 years of my life. Hope Jalen is ready for next week.
I don’t know how confident I would be feeling in Jalen to win a superbowl (given the remaining teams) if I was an Eagles fan. But they’re one of 5 left.

They scored 28 points and their kicker missed 2 extra points. I'd say that's not too bad.
Most of it was Barkley
Jalen's net passing yards were under 100. Granted, some of the play calling didn't help him much.

He looked fine. They shoukd have thrown less!

I don't know about less but I said in the game thread I think they should have focused more on the short and intermediate game. Jalen wasn't connecting on the deep throws or taking too long to let them develop and taking sacks. I'd be interested to see net passing yards broken down by depth of target but guess you can't do that for the sacks when no one was actually targeted.

I’m sure you could if you break down the full game all-22

I don't know about that but I sure hope the coaches do!

Sounds like someone needs to read Inner Excellence

Of course it wasn’t bad. They won. Doesn’t change what I said in my post.
it is so hard to figure out. My thoughts are the final 4 teams can all beat, and lose to each other. They all have flaws. Optimistic opinion of this game is that they were up 28-15 with a little over 3:00 to go left in the game.

I really did have flashbacks to the Atlanta game this year.

This is so true!

The slant they threw to Goedert to convert on fourth was great. They seem to want to run Barkley (great) or take long shots (not great) and refuse to do the little 5-10 yard quick hitters. It’s kinda ridiculous. I’ll say it again for maybe the 50th time but that AJ slant up the middle ALWAYS converts and ALWAYS gets 15-25 yards.

I just don’t understand the calls when it comes to the passing game. They clearly trust Jalen to launch it 20-40 yards to AJ into double coverage- why not some WC offense slants, screens etc to get him warmed up. The offense is so good with Saquon but the rams were clearly selling out to stop the run which should be the key to opening the short and intermediate pass game for easy first downs. Yet we only do the slow developing **** which in tonight’s weather seemed….ill-advised.

i'm not sure how much to be into this, but it is great potential news:

When asked if he had any long-term concern on his shoulder injury, Philadelphia Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell told
@ReinerOlivia
, "No, I'm going to be good."
That’s good, but I’m mostly concerned about next week
it looks like it was right after the game. It looked to me originally like a clavicle fracture or broken. Avoiding that, could just be a stinger or something

Thank the gods

this is a good story. I admit I was skeptical as of last year, super stoked he showed he is legit:

"Nolan Smith is up to 9.5 sacks over his last 14 games. Since Week 6, only 7 NFL players have more sacks:

Trey Hendrickson
Will Anderson Jr.
Myles Garrett
Nik Bonitto
Micah Parsons
Danielle Hunter
George Karlaftis

Honestly, I'm on the phone with the Browns to see what they'd take for Garrett. Him on one side, Smith on the other and Carter in the middle would be an unblockable defensive front.

If you had 9 lives, you just used them all.
Haha we got 18. Hows richardson doin
Sorry, I don’t know who that is. Go skins
Hes that qb you guys drafted top 5 whos never been to the playoffs. Watch us in the bowl!
I believe this AFC is strongest again this year
Stronger than your defense that killed us all in the fantasy finals. Still bitter!

You guys are arguing with a Colts fan troll now? Come on now.

Out of the 4 teams left, I would not be surprised if any of them won it all.

If Buffalo wins next week I’ll pull for them in the SB. If they lose I’ll pull for the Philly / Wash winner.

I shaved about 3 years off my life and another 2 on the ride home!!!

We made that a lot tougher than we needed to for sure. Jalen had a very concerning game with missed receivers, mainly RB’s. Nearly every sack or bad decision (watch Barkley on the safety play) he had a simple check down for 5-10 yards and refused to take it.

He was in a good deal of pain and I can’t imagine he’s going to be in good shape for this weekend.

I expected better of AJ Brown today too. Dropped balls and some awful attempts at blocks

The OL also didn’t look great for a decent amount of time. That Verse kid is going to be special too. He was doing very well on almost every OL he went against.

Thank god Nolan Smith and Jalen Carter continued to get better. Such great games from those two when it mattered.

I missed the presser, did Nick address that odd decision to let the clock tick down in the second quarter?

I don’t know what the upside is to having Elliot on the roster either.

Crazy as it sounds it feels like we’re the underdogs next week in a revenge game. Hope the injuries aren’t too much!

the one that stood out to me the most was AJ. I would like to think the game is somewhat a throwaway game because of the weather, but who knows.

As for next week, I have no idea what to think. Can go so many ways. I wouldn't mind seeing them go for 2 instead of XPs either if they can't see different from zelliot with XPs

Yeah, I’m afraid AJs knee isn’t right. Injuries piling up at the wrong time.

Jalen Carter played the most dominant game of his career today. All day long: the FF, the 2 sacks. Just a complete gamewrecker
I have watched the replay of him punching the ball out of Kyren's hands like 10 times. That is such an underrated great play. I have seen Baun do it a bit too, and I think Dean got one. So glad they worked on those during the bye, it is great to see

Still can’t believe the Eagles got him at # 9? So much fail lol.
the crazy thing is, I am not so sure he would have been this successful on quite a few of those teams. There was so much talk about his personality and where he was at mentally. It is like he leaned in the perfect spot, and it worked for him as well. I think maybe 7-8 teams have a strong enough infrastructure to help a guy like Carter succeed.

This is all based on reports from his rookie and around the draft, so I don't know the validity of all the reports, but it seems to have worked out great for both parties.

He was (arguably) the best player in it two years ago, needs to get that mojo back somehow.
He’ll never be that player again. That was his ceiling. He’s gonna be chasing that his whole career as he’s never going to be consistent

I wouldn’t take him he supports guys who like to sexually assault women. Don’t need that. Go get me Max Crosby.

He’s looked disinterested and lazy the last several weeks after BG called him and Hurts out to fix their ****.

Carter needed a strong locker room and GM to keep his head up. Most of those teams who passed on him had zero to no leaders or people to coach him through stuff

I have seen a few Rams stuff post game and a lot of talk of how they all saw the Rams winning 29-28. If the Eagles lost 29-28, I can not imagine the hate that would go in Elliot's direction. That would have sucked so bad to lose because 2 missed XPs

At this point is a kicker off the street a worse option? Those XPs almost cost us big.
Don't worry about that too much. Washington is on something like their 5th kicker this year --- Gonzales, who has had some terrible misses and is still recovering from a hip injury. He's been trying to kick his dog for 4 days now and still hasn't connected. The only good thing to say about Gonzales is that that he fixes his hair more times on the way out to kick a FG than any kicker in history.
