2024 Philadelphia Eagles - First one was for the fans. This one was for the team. Next one is for the legacy. (9 Viewers)

Kellen Moore expected to be "deeply in the mix" to become Cowboys next HC, per @NickHarrisFWST

Honestly, Kellen Moore has been the most "meh" OC. Nothing creative about anything he does.
agreed. Was watching the PHLY show where they were showing passing routes, etc. and it is nothing special. If they keep him i would be happy because Hurts can't switch OC every single year, but if he leaves it won't be a big deal

33 degrees and 60% chance of rain/wintery mix in the forecast right now for Sunday afternoon. Neither of these indoor teams will be looking forward to that.

What are special passing routes and who is currently calling them on other teams?

Watch the Detroit Lions play. Watch the Kansas City Chief play. Creativity at its finest.

we wouldn't play washington though, they'd play Detroit.
This is how it'll work. We'll take care of Detroit, you guys take care of LA or MIN, and we'll have a whole week of "HOW GREAT THE NFC EAST IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN" coverage, which of course we all deserve.

Then the following week we can have a brief interlude where we hate each other.
I've had a very hard time hating on the Commanders the last few years, and certainly aren't starting now. Still kicking myself for taking Caleb over Jayden when I went QB, stupid consensus swayed me when my gut screamed Jayden

I'm mildly concerned that Hurts is playing a bit too conservative. SLiding down in the backfield instead of throwing it away, NEVER seems to attempt any tight window throws. It has worked behind a dominant run game and defense. CAn he be more aggressive when he needs to be? I'm still remembering one WOW throw after another 2 years ago. There haven't been many of those this year (there hasn't been a lot of need for them either to be fair)

Not at all. We won't miss him as an OC if he leaves.
Call me old fashioned but I’m a big fan of having a top 7 offense, playing to your strengths (run the ball crowd), not turning the ball over and getting better as the season goes on. If that’s “meh” and the only two examples are Andy Reid and Ben Johnson I’d be pissed if he left. You literally named no one who could replace him that’s available.

This is where Philly fans start to bother me a bit. I’d like to think we know what Hurts is and what he isn’t. Why do we want him putting the ball in harms way?!

The strengths of this team are what? Where does Hurts fall on the list? He’s behind the defense, OL, RB and WR’s. Play to your strengths and enjoy the wins no matter how ugly they are. Use the “wow throws” and pick and choose when to be aggressive.

Anyone know this Eagles fan??

I’ll never understand fans like this. It’s disgusting on so many levels and he has to be 50-60 years old. Absolutely pathetic
It sucks, I've run into some guys like this at games but fortunately it seems like fewer every year.
We had a guy behind us that used to scream and curse at the coaches all the time, helped my young kids learn some new words.
Fortunately, haven't seen him in a few years, maybe he finally gave himself an aneurism or something.

Just reminded me, when we first got the seats when the Linc opened, there was a young kid that would be yelling alot in his high-pitched kid voice in the row behind us. We got used to it after a few years. Then the season opener one year, same yelling but the voice was deeper. The boys must have finally dropped in the offseason.

Yeah. We were winning the whole game. Packers were getting killed by our defense. If they had put up any points i think you see some different calls. Push the eagles and they will get more agressive. And sorry you also have to cut him a little slack in this game. Hadnt played in a month

Was thinking that today. Hurts, AJ and Devonta all were a bit rusty. Goedert looked pretty good in his second game back having played in week 18. Oline looked great and Barkley doesn't need much to keep on trucking.

Next week I think we see a more efficient Jalen and offense getting a full week of practice and having the rust gone.

If his offensive system is hand the ball off to Saquon and have AJ and DeVonta win 1 on 1 battles, then he isn't really a big loss if he leaves. You could literally replace him with anyone. What exactly does he bring to the table?

I know exactly what play you're talking about. When you're out of the pocket, throw the ball away. There's no need to take a 3 yard loss.

I am not worried about Hurts' conservativeness. That's a symptom of the overall game plan most weeks. I'm no fan of willingly taking sacks for any reason except ball security & personal safety. The conservative game plan sure does work with the defense and run game clicking. I love it. Old school smashmouth football. You already know Hurts can be aggressive passing & rushing & brotherly shoving when needed as you've seen it before. Reigning in his aggressive passing attempts has limited his turnovers. The '24 highlight reel "WOW" plays not surprisingly came from long Barkley TD's and stunning athleticism (which is why they got him) and a lot of brotherly TD's from Hurts. This season's highlight reel is far from over.

On a defensive note, I feel bad for Nakobe Dean, and I hope his recovery goes really well. I am not worried about the defense or whether his loss will affect immediate future defensive performance. Adjustments will be made to compensate for his unavailability moving forward.

Eagles defense forced Jordan Love into one of the worst performances of his career:

- 2nd worst QB rate (41.5)
- Worst TD/INT ratio (0-3)
- 3rd worst QBR this season (his worst was week 1 v this defense)
- 10th lowest YPA

Yeah, in the game day thread, Eagles are getting no credit for this. Apparently, the Green Bay Packers were just a terrible 11 win team, maybe the worst team in the entire playoffs.
We also got all the too. Cry me a river

I’m at the point where when are we gonna stop blaming coaching and put some of this on players. Page goes through the all 22 every week for bleeding green and he’s been super complementary of Hurts over the yrs. He was calling him out on a ton of misreads or poor decision making this year where people were blaming, Nick, Recievers or Moore on. Dotson with the all 22 should’ve had 2-3 tds his way before he got his first yesterday. Balks forced to AJ that didn’t work when Devonte or someone was wide open etc.

Not only that but on a lot of WR screens AJ Brown just doesn’t block or put any effort into it. He’s also been know to take plays or whole series off.

Point is how many Cordinators we gonna go through before players get called out? Can’t keep going through OCs

Hey if Ben Johnson came here I’m not complaining but to say Moore isn’t anything special when he’s made adjustments and plays to the teams streangths im all for it. And he runs the ball!!!

Anyone know this Eagles fan??

They found out who he is. He's not having a good day.
How so?
They found out where he works and lives.
Hopefully he gets fired from his job too. Zero excuse for that. Have a guy like him at my job and now with a new boss he’s getting his @$s rode on big time
I'm usually not for people to lose their jobs but this guy seems like it's not his first time being a piece of ****. I wouldn't blame his boss if he didn't want to associate with him.

Like I said I’m around a guy like this one at work. This isn’t that guys first roadie with this. If you are casually throwing that language around, I can only imagine what he’s says at work. I’m sure this guy uses choice words to describe people that are “different” than him.

With:

- a good defense keeping them out of shootouts
- a tougher schedule
- our best WR, TE, and QB all each missing multiple games
- not playing the starters the final week

I'd say that's a pretty good improvement. If you can't see the improvement in scheming, play calling, and offensive movement/creativity, then I dunno what to tell you. He's been great.

So is Ben Johnson’s system just use his best players too? Should be easy to replace in Detroit.

You have a full season of seeing Moore. Two good play calls and drops away from being 16-1. Gimme these great OC’s you’re so high on that we can replace him with.

Was gonna address the latest post but Daemon already did.

No, the improvement was we went from a change of pace back getting our carries to a bona fide stud RB getting our carries. The passing game is absolutely pathetic this season and has taken a step backward.

Vic Fangio has been great. Kellen Moore has been passable. Calling run plays isn't something I'm going to praise, most of the poster on this board would give Saquon 20+ carries a game too.

we have struggled with co-ordinators a lot over the years. Always tough in your first year with a team too. To see what he's done in year 1 here has been just awesome.

Curious who you think would be as good. Would be a massive loss, and I think you'll realize how good he was as soon as he's gone.

It’s actually shocking to have had the OC we had last year, replace him with Moore and go “meh”!

The passing game is absolutely pathetic. Take off the homer glasses.
Or is this a fantasy football thing? Maybe that’s where we’re misunderstanding each other.

Hurts isn’t a carve you up passer. Forcing that square peg into that round hole was last year and I’m shocked how much you envy last year.

It hasn't been awesome, there is no reason a team like the Washington Commanders should score more points than the Eagles. Our passing offense is bottom 3 in the league. We got lucky that Howie had the foresight to sign Barkley because this offense would be in deep doo doo if we were using a Swift/Gainwell RBBC.

This may be a crazy thought, but hear me out. Maybe, just maybe, the passing offense isn’t being used as much because our run game is awesome, our defense controls games and we don’t need to throw. Does that make sense?

If that’s “meh” and the only two examples are Andy Reid and Ben Johnson I’d be pissed if he left. You literally named no one who could replace him that’s available.

If his offensive system is hand the ball off to Saquon and have AJ and DeVonta win 1 on 1 battles, then he isn't really a big loss if he leaves. You could literally replace him with anyone. What exactly does he bring to the table?

So is Ben Johnson’s system just use his best players too? Should be easy to replace in Detroit.

You have a full season of seeing Moore. Two good play calls and drops away from being 16-1. Gimme these great OC’s you’re so high on that we can replace him with.

Was gonna address the latest post but Daemon already did.

Vic Fangio has been great. Kellen Moore has been passable. Calling run plays isn't something I'm going to praise, most of the poster on this board would give Saquon 20+ carries a game too.

Gimme the great OC’s you want.

That's a logical fallacy. The argument is that losing Moore isn't that big of a deal, literally any competent OC with experience could put together and call a game and do just as well as he has done with the weapons we have. If anything, this offense has under-achieved under Moore. A great OC, might even get Hurts to make progressions in his passing and decision-making, he hasn't done that under Moore.
