Da BowlsObviously it's been a good start for the Bulls. Three wins against teams expected to be better than them (Pistons, Magic, Hawks) and one win against another expected play-in team (Kings). Going back to their good stretch at the end of last season, they are now 19-6 in their last 25 regular season games. Their good ending last year was largely discounted since many teams were tanking or resting players for the playoffs but I think it's hard to write this off at this point.
Their difficult schedule to start the season continues with two against the Knicks, then the 76ers, Bucks, Cavs, Spurs and Pistons. Maybe they lose most of these games. Who knows.
The biggest surprise so far is defense. They are fourth in defensive rating and first in opponents' 3 point shooting percentage at only 25.9%. Obviously that last stat can't hold but the Bulls were 2nd to only the Thunder last year so it's something they do well.
Offense should hopefully get a lift when Coby White, arguably their best offensive player, comes back. Matas Buzelis is so young but he has so much potential. It's all very exciting for a franchise that has been dragged through the mud these last few years.
Fun to watch. Something else fun to watch was another team trot out a starting lineup of Derozan-Lavine-Westbrook-Sabonis-Schroeder
