2025 Carolina Panthers: Looking Forward to Continued Mediocrity, Kee... START Pounding! (2 Viewers)

XL's interviews are gold, best accent in the building. Straight country there.
It’s funny, about half of the guys on my football team in high school talked like that. And we actually lost to Mullins in the playoffs my senior year!
I thought I was country. I grew up in Greenville (SC) and we had a couple of guys that sounded like him. We didn't play Mullins but there were plenty of big country boys up there too.

Yeah. They closed a rural black school called Cainhoy in the mid-90s and bussed a lot of those folks pretty far to the mostly white suburb of Charleston I grew up in.

Of course, now that area has been extremely gentrified and they built a brand new school out there to house all the rich white kids…

I like some of the picks, like the TE... others are some head scratchers. The 5'9 CB... are they looking at the return game there? Seems they would draft more than one. Unless they are going to bring back Gilmore.

Dan Morgan gets a good grade from me in this draft. Moving around to get players that the HC clearly wanted (Legette and Brooks) and picked up another 2nd next year. He also specifically mentioned wanting to be a more physical team.

Doesn’t mean these picks will all pan out or anything, but positive signs.
That second was a nice get. May have been the best trade of the draft.

I suppose Young and the rest of the starters can get some meaningful game type reps in weeks 1-3. :oldunsure:

Has Jack Plummer generated a first down yet?

That said, the word is that the first unit did their work in the joint practice and that serve as the typical 1 to 1.5 quarter run.

Lowest rating of Bryce Young's career today. Seemed like he (mostly) had a bit of time and receivers looked to be more open. Some bad misses

Good news is it's early and there's no use in not letting him see if he can develop this year. That said, there's no reason to hang on to a flailing duck simply because he's the #1 pick and the object of, perhaps, the worst trade in NFL history. Front office/owner wants to save face but if the proverbial bait needs to be cut... own it and get another QB.

I have doubts that the Texans will accept a trade of Young for CJ Stroud, but we could try.

What does this mean?

Seems dangerous to spend another year losing like this if it really is such an issue with one player. How can you evaluate the rest of the squad?

Should have let him sit some last year. Really a lose lose at this point.

Derrick Brown feared out for the season.
Teams are about to average 30+ on the Panthers this season

Panthers are the worst franchise in the NFL. Tepper is the worst owner in the NFL now that Dan Snyder is gone. I'd be surprised if this team gets over .500 in the next 5 years unless they make some magic moves to rebuild and get some draft capital back. Bryce Young looks like Zach Wilson out there, but shorter.

Richardson and Stroud continue to look like Soldiers leading armies, but Tepper's wife thought Bryce Young was hot so here we are.

Yeah, it's a good point. Young isn't the only issue here as the defense was horrid. I don't think Canales will pull the plug on Bryce, at least not this early in the season. But the natives are already restless and it's looking like a nightmare of a season. Lose-lose indeed...

Would have been an easier call last year, but nobody on that coaching staff had incentives to think long term about it.

Sad watching what is happening locally with the fan base. Some of those guys are not coming back.

2-16 with Young at the controls, and it won't get any easier next week in Vegas. It's also tough watching Stroud running around making plays in Houston, but I'm happy for Texan fans and their team. That's water under the bridge now. Our saga continues...

31-70 under Tepper.

I'm not going to be a broken record on Bryce because I feel bad for him. He's regressing before our eyes. They need to play Dalton and hope Young can learn while holding a Surface.

I feel bad for him too. Tepper doesn't play or coach but, man, the dark cloud over this team is ominous.

I am enjoying seeing Baker and Darnold have success, especially Sam. Bryce's throw chart is telling. Either they won't let him throw it down the field or he doesn't have time... or confidence. Maybe a mixture of all the above. I believe it would help Young to sit and watch Dalton for awhile. Let's at least see if Andy can move the offense down the field with any consistency.

Legette had no targets yesterday. Would like to see them get him the ball in open space.

The most insane thing about what's happening in Carolina is that they traded star players like Christian McCaffrey, DJ Moore, and Brian Burns in the prime of their careers, and in those deals, gave up more 1st-round picks than they received in return. It's absurd.

All 3 players were 26 years old or younger when traded away.

Best decision they've made in a couple of years to sit Bryce and let him see a veteran QB run the offense for awhile. Hopefully the game will slow down for him and he can regroup and be ready at some point down the road.

Or, they'll trade him and 3 first round picks for Baker Mayfield ( ) ... or the rights to draft Miles Hastings.

Bryce Young should demand a trade and start chirping thru social media he wants out of there
That's his best move to salvage his career. I thought he would have a rough go of it but being drafted by Carolina has ruined any chance he might have had to succeed
Traded away CMC, DJ Moore and Burns in their prime
Tepper has driven this team into the ground

Saw this on Twitter. Can't confirm with my sources, but I'd assume it's correct. In the past 10 games, Panthers have held the lead for 10 seconds total. Total. Maybe Young is a better type of QB playing with a lead and he just hasn't been able to show it. Ha ha

Panthers just elevated TE Feleipe Franks from the practice squad. He was a QB in college, but listed as the 3rd string TE. I think his middle name is Taysom.

Ok, so the team does have some life. What a great showing and nice to see D. Johnson and Chuba have good games. Hopefully this effort instills some confidence back into the org and fans.

Glad they've turned down (allegedly) trade inquiries for Young. This is how it used to be... let the rookie come in and observe/learn behind a stable QB.

Hate to see Thielen go down, though.

Man Bryce may actually be the worst QB who has ever played. Panthers might want to be careful not to win too many games with the red rifle. Will need to draft another QB in 2025.

It will be interesting to see how the squad plays at home this week. Defense looked good with a lot of players in the secondary making plays, but Burrow is a different story. The one thing that is clear about this team is that the investments in G are paying off. Saw a stat that the Panthers have the best rated pass-pro in the NFL through 3 weeks.

The Red Rifle just sent Young to the bench for the season
After what we saw on Sunday, how can Carolina say they have plans to play Young again this season?
His career in Carolina appears to be over

Hard to disagree with this. Maybe the best thing for him right now would be a trade.
Panthers say they've gotten calls.
Might be the best thing for that young man right now.
