My preliminary count says we lost 4 more in Joe's badge contest, but I'll wait for the official results in the morning.
Hey @Scoresman did you enjoy watching your team get closer and closer to the cut near the end?

Looking ahead, it looks like week 8 could be the lowest cut line ever.

Week 8 byes:
Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks.

Lions and Seahawks have been big
rams and jags have had some useful players
Raiders and cardinals

Darnold has been my 2nd most used QB and JSN is my only player to be used all 7 weeks but my WR group is strong so I should be OK. Do hope the cut line stays under 125-130.

We started the week with 35 folks eligible for @Joe Bryant badge offer. The great news is we still have 31 ; the bad news is we lost @ClownDogs @fightingillini @Gatorade @a_troll00 :crying:

Same ... JSN has been my only all 7 week usage ...
Jake Ferg & Mahomes are 6 of 7 time making my count
Yeah, my WR core DK, Odunze, Downs. ... and if Pearsall's back should be ok with JSN for 1 week.

Looking ahead ... I will need all sorts of help for Week 10 ..

Bye - Cinn, Tenn, KC , & Dallas
For me missing Week 10 ... Can you advance without QB?
QB KC Mahomes on bye leaves me Tua at home vs Buffalo
Also missing Jake Ferguson TE but maybe Kincaid & Njoku will pick up the slack

My estimated starters for week 8, per FBG
QB - Dak Prescott
RB1 - Derrick Henry
RB2 - Chase Brown
WR1 - Emeka Egbuka
WR2 - Stefon Diggs
TE - Dallas Goedert
Flex1 - George Pickens
Flex2 - Woody Marks
PK - Tyler Loop
TD - New England Patriots

Bench
RB - RJ Harvey, Jacory Croskey-Merritt
WR - Terry McLaurin (Q), Matthew Golden, Jalen Coker, Kayshon Boutte, Jahan Dotson
TE - Dalton Kincaid (Q), Pat Freiermuth
PK - Chris Boswell
TD - Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers

Bye
QB - Geno Smith
PK - Daniel Carlson

With the exception of McLaurin, this team has been pretty healthy. Wish I would've spent a bit more and rostered 4/5 TE's.

Irrelevant Week 7 Trivia:

So far through 7 weeks, the roster size with the highest survival rate is 28, with a survival rate of 58.34%.
Roster size 28 has had the highest survival rate for the last 4 weeks in a row. Roster size 29 was in the top spot for weeks 1 through 3.
The roster size with the lowest survival rate is 18 at 21.25% Roster size 18 has had the lowest survival rate for all 7 weeks of the contest.
The overall survival rate for the entire contest through 7 weeks is 30.04%.

Nearly 70% of all contest entries have now been eliminated.

Week 8 is the first week of 30% weekly cuts. Coupled with bye weeks, this is when it really gets tough.

Injuries have always played a major role in survival in this contest. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
But it's best to be BOTH lucky AND good ❗

Good luck and good (player) health to everyone who is advancing to week 8. :drive:⚕️

One of my “rules” is to always have at least 4 TE. They are carrying my team this year. 3 of the 4 have counted each week for the past 3 weeks. Two of those weeks I did not have many pts to spare.

I haven't heard anything yet here in Houston, but Woody Marks looked totally spent on that late 4th Quarter TD catch last night, and maybe even injured as he gingerly shuffled back to the bench.

I like the 4 TE strategy ... I went with 3 (Kincaid, J Ferg & Njoku) ... thinking the TE+ scoring would be impactful.
Week 7 was my 1st time only 1 TE applied since Kincaid on Bye and Njoku out hurt.

Just in by .8 points.

Would have been put out if Egbuka had not played since he raised my WR2 spot 1.8 points. Also needed that Woody Marks TD to add 1.4 to my flex.

Have only had Tua at QB since Burrow went down, that 2.6 points he gave me was very necessary. Still not sure what I was thinking only going with 2 QB's, it's sure to get me eventually, but today is not that day.

Total 139
Cutline 133.4

Kittle's 0 burger was rough. Hoping for better weeks ahead.

I somehow am not missing half of my team for the week 8 Bye-mageddon. My best ball teams are full of week 8 byes. I've got a few leagues where I've got no one to start this week.

But I don't want to be too optomistic because as soon as you feel safe, you get burnt haha.

I have survived the last 3 weeks without my highest paid player, Bucky Irving, and also without Pearsall. I need to get at least of them back ASAP.
Ditto on Pearsall.

I've also been without Christian Kirk, not that that matters since he's my only player who hasn't had a score that counts.

To that point, I'd like to thank Texans ownership for being too stupid, cheap and stubborn to invest properly in an oline. Wasting Stroud's talent SHOULD BE illegal. (#sour grapes).

 in years past I went with two top TEs and two bargain basement. This year my plan for a while was kittle and Warren. Made the decision to upgrade RB to Brown :bag: and downgrade from kittle / warren to Kraft, Taylor along with fanin and the wrong Ferguson. Thankfully Fanin has been the best value so far.

I have always rostered 4 TEs. This year I almost rostered 5, but only 4 made it to my final roster iteration.

Until this week, I was regretting Pat Freiermuth, who I rostered in stead of Zach Ertz as one of my 4 TEs.
But truth be told, Freiermuth saved my bacon in week 7. I would be on the outside looking in right now without him on my roster ❗

Close call this week. I made it by only 6.25 points. My closest week prior to this week was 28.80 points above the cut line.

For week 8, I'm hoping for Pearsall being back, and hopefully Egbuka getting back to his normal game. After Evans got hurt last night it seemed like Mayfield was missing every pass high... like he's used to having someone Evans' height to throw to, and did not adjust.

Always good to be both lucky and good. You can't control luck, but you can control good, which lessens your dependency on luck.

Unofficial future cutlines: A few ties affected the future cutlines, (not counting ties that may affect the final cut numbers):

Start 11139
10% Week 1 Cut to Number – 10026
10% Week 2 cut to Number – 9026
10% Week 3 cut to Number – 8127
20% Week 4 cut to Number – 6511
20% Week 5 cut to Number – 5209
20% Week 6 cut to Number – 4169
20% Week 7 cut to Number – 3336 Now 3341
30% Week 8 cut to Number – 2336 Now 2339
30% Week 9 cut to Number – 1636 Now 1638
30% Week 10 cut to Number – 1146 Now 1147
30% Week 11 cut to Number – 803
30% Week 12 cut to Number – 563
40% Week 13 cut to Number – 338
40% Week 14 cut to Number – 203 (means the top 22 non-playoff teams this week win a prize)

Notes From Contest Rules:
- In weeks 1--14, the cut is based on scores from the current week only. Scores reset each week.

- Specifically, the cut will be determined as in the following example. Suppose it is week 7 and there are 2,394 entries at the beginning of the week. Because the cut percentage is 20% for that week, 2394 will be multiplied by 0.80 and the resulting number, if not an integer, will be rounded UP to the next greatest integer. In this case, 2394 * 0.8 = 1915.2. We round up to 1916. The entry with the 1916th-highest score, and all entries with an equal or greater score, will move to the next round.

- if fewer than 225 participants remain after week 14, then prizes will be awarded to eliminated participants according to highest score in week 14. If prizes are still unawarded after that, then highest score in week 13, and so on.

Yeah, probably what it boils down to, was trying to go big or go home.

I still usually try and work in a third QB because it's burnt me so bad only going with 2 in my BB drafts. But of course no guarantees. I did 18 BB drafts this year and by week 5 I already had 3 different teams that went with 3 QB's come up with gooses for the week.

I am learning that you really need to spend between $40 - $45 on at least 3 viable, likely to play QBs. It's a lot for just one of 10 positions, but it's the one that scores you the most points every week.

Made it., but closest I've been to the weekly cut. A look at my terrible decisions so far....

T. Henderson (I'm not alone on that one, but the biggest "oof" @$18
Chase Brown...has Flacco somehow given Cinci some magic old wizard dust?
Dont'e Thornton...hasn't counted yet, maybe will catch a long TD sometime soon?
Kyle Williams....ditto, but even worse
Gano...wtf was I thinking
Titans DEF/ST...even though I've used them 4x

Hey .. He counted 2x for me!
Week 2 at 5.0 pts and Week 4 for 11.6 pts ... so not a total wash.
Not the greatest ROI but maybe, just maybe he gets more touches later in year... 🙏

Week 8 byes shouldn't be too bad for me, though I'll only have 1 QB (Love @ Steelers) and 1 kicker (Boswell), so I'm stuck with whatever they give me. Only other player I'm missing is Tre Tucker, so hopefully having a nearly full complement of skill players will carry me through even if Love or Boswell have down games.

My "I'm still alive!!!" roster analysis to date:

QB - wasted $11 so far on Cam Ward as my highest paid of 4 QB's who has counted zero times. Darnold/Rodgers/Tua have been good and Darnold/Rodgers would have been a nice cheap combo. Still like the cushion that Tua & Cam bring and all 4 still have their job and are not hurt as of now.

RB - my weakest group with 7 guys and a bunch of single digit games. Chase Brown as my #1 and TeVeyon Henderson as my #2 were big whiffs. Losing Kendre Miller hurts my depth, but he was only used once so far. RB's have only contributed 2 flex scores out of 14 to date.

WR - my strongest group with everyone but Jalen Coker contributing. JSN has scored for me every week and Egbuka/Keenan Allen have been fantastic. Added some depth with Pearsall, Franklin DJ Moore and Golden. Whatever my team does in this contest will be carried by the WR's. Contributed 9/14 flex spots so far.

TE - made some good decisions here for the money. Goedert/Ertz are solid and Mason Taylor has chipped in. Still waiting for Terrance Ferguson to count, but he did break double digits this week. 3/14 flex spots from this group so far.

PK - I'm averaging 12.8/week from this group and Tyler Loop still hasn't counted yet. Boswell and Grupe were fantastic and all 3 are still employed each week, so the potential for a solid game is always there.

TD - Went with 4x $3 teams and have averaged 9.0/week. Had a couple of 3.0 scoring weeks but for the most part hit double digits with one of ATL/LVR/NOS/MIA.

So far my 30-man roster has had 4 non-contributors (Ward/Coker/Ferguson/Loop) and only 1 count all 7 weeks (JSN). I would still be alive without any one player so the depth is there. Wish I'd done something different at RB and would really feel good about actually making some noise at the end. As is, I like my survivability but don't have a very high ceiling without a legit RB threat on a regular basis.

We have several of the same players, from the sounds of it. At least the ones in bold below, based on your comments. Funny thing was I considered several QB's in that $9-14 range, and ended up deciding that Geno was the safer bet over Darnold. Tua scared me because of his concussions, and I almost took Ward (figured he would get plenty of garbage time points playing from behind, etc.). At the end of the day, I'm not sure Geno will be any better than Ward (and might be worse), in terms of contributing. Might have been a total waste of $11 either way.

Good news this week is that I'm only "missing" Geno and LVR Defense. Not sure either will be missed, frankly. I'm a little concerned about my kickers over the next few weeks... Currently being carried by Grupe, of all people. I really need Gano or Santos to get back by Week 11 (Grupe's bye), or I'll be kicker-less.

QB C.J. Stroud - $14
QB Geno Smith - $11
QB Aaron Rodgers - $10

RB Omarion Hampton - $23
RB TreVeyon Henderson - $18
RB Jaylen Warren - $17
RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. - $16
RB Jordan Mason - $11
RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt

WR Courtland Sutton - $19
WR Rome Odunze - $15
WR Josh Downs - $12
WR Ricky Pearsall - $11
WR Rashod Bateman - $10
WR Emeka Egbuka - $10
WR Romeo Doubs - $6
WR Jaylin Lane - $2

TE Zach Ertz - $9
TE Juwan Johnson - $7
TE Mason Taylor - $7

PK Graham Gano - $3
PK Cairo Santos - $3
PK Blake Grupe - $3

TD New England Patriots - $4
TD Las Vegas Raiders - $3

My estimated starters for week 8, per FBG
QB - Dak Prescott
RB1 - Derrick Henry
RB2 - Chase Brown
WR1 - Emeka Egbuka
WR2 - Stefon Diggs
TE - Dallas Goedert
Flex1 - George Pickens
Flex2 - Woody Marks
PK - Tyler Loop
TD - New England Patriots

Bench
RB - RJ Harvey, Jacory Croskey-Merritt
WR - Terry McLaurin (Q), Matthew Golden, Jalen Coker, Kayshon Boutte, Jahan Dotson
TE - Dalton Kincaid (Q), Pat Freiermuth
PK - Chris Boswell
TD - Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers

Bye
QB - Geno Smith
PK - Daniel Carlson

With the exception of McLaurin, this team has been pretty healthy. Wish I would've spent a bit more and rostered 4/5 TE's.

I like this format, so of course I'll plagiarize....

Starters (per my seat of pants projections not FBG)

QB - Daniel Jones + matchup (hosting Tenn while Jordan Love visits Pitt). QB3 Darnold on bye.
RB - Derrick Henry ??? -> (HUGE day tomorrow to see if Lamar participates in wednesday practice; I'm irrationally (?) optimistic).
RB - Chase Brown (hey look! I got his first name right!) RB3 Montgomery on bye. Flacco bounce continues?.
WR - Stefon Diggs (vs Browns...not a plus matchup)
WR - Keenan Allen (its either him vs Vikings or disappointment Golden versus Steelers).
TE - Warren + matchup vs Tenn
Flex - Goedert revenge? vs Giants
Flex - Freierm. vs Pack (did AR and Smith learn something from Pat's breakout? like he's their second best target?)
PK - Boswell vs Pack (or Loop vs Bears)...one of these two will score ok I suspect. PK3 NO Grupe vs Bucs so points = ??.
TD - Chiefs versus Mariota (Raiders on bye)

Bench not mentioned above

Mr. Bill - tough matchup even if Jayden were playing
Miller - ACL done for the year

Evans - done for (at least most of) the year
Pearsall - doubtful for Week 8
Kirk - on bye (problematic oline when not on bye)
Golden - locked in a head to head battle with Henderson for NOT rookie of the year (#sourgrapes)
Kupp - on bye, should not be allowed to pass

Haha, I would have been out without Egbuka raising my wr spot about the same amount. Fwiw. My achilles will likely be at rb.

Didn't make it through week 7. Choosing Jeanty/Jamo was the key mistake in the final roster contruction. I did not imagine they would only combine for 3.9 points in the week when they would be needed most. Once I landed on that pair, I didn't pick other players like Gibbs due to bye week.

The correct Lions pivot was Gibbs + a group of cheaper WR or Jamar Chase + RB. But I really wanted Jeanty/Jamo and that just didn't work out at all.

My wife's entry is still alive, she is smarter than me, with no zeroes only heroes.

I know this is the only week with 6 teams off, but there really aren't a ton of highly owned players, which is probably more important than you think. Of the 3341 remaining teams, here are the players owned by at least 15% (I was going down to 10%, but the list was long enough):

69.29% - 2315 - WR Emeka Egbuka
69.11% - 2309 - RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt
48.79% - 1630 - WR Ricky Pearsall (Q)
47.08% - 1573 - TE Tyler Warren
37.20% - 1243 - RB Chase Brown
35.41% - 1183 - RB TreVeyon Henderson
32.92% - 1100 - WR Keenan Allen
31.73% - 1060 - RB Jordan Mason
29.45% - 984 - QB Dak Prescott
26.64% - 890 - PK Evan McPherson
26.01% - 869 - WR Matthew Golden
24.78% - 828 - WR George Pickens
23.91% - 799 - PK Tyler Loop
23.26% - 777 - RB Nick Chubb
22.42% - 749 - PK Chris Boswell
22.39% - 748 - TD Kansas City Chiefs
21.19% - 708 - WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - ON BYE
19.69% - 658 - TD Denver Broncos
18.38% - 614 - TE Tucker Kraft
17.90% - 598 - WR Courtland Sutton
17.42% - 582 - PK Cam Little - ON BYE
16.31% - 545 - TE Mason Taylor
15.86% - 530 - PK Cairo Santos (Q)
15.74% - 526 - QB Trevor Lawrence - ON BYE
15.71% - 525 - RB Braelon Allen - IR
15.47% - 517 - WR Stefon Diggs
15.26% - 510 - RB Kyle Monangai
15.21% - 508 - QB Drake Maye
15.06% - 503 - PK Younghoe Koo (may kick for NYG if Gano can't)
15.00% - 501 - RB Isiah Pacheco

Even though this is the heaviest bye week, if you look above, I don't think we are going to have a very low cut line as some were suggesting. Sure, individual teams that rostered week 8 bye players they've been counting on are going to be sweating, but for the rest, it should be a normal week.

I feel your pain brother. My wife started 3 years ago and placed 69th in year one.

She picks her team the day before the deadline based on teams and players she likes...presumeably based on uniform color and personality.

When I mention detailed spreadsheet analysis she laughs at me.

I got one of my local league pals to sign up for FBG a few days before the contest closed, and I watched as he spent about 12 minutes picking his team. He had done absolutely no research prior, and his team is still alive. His only QB's are Burrow and Tua, and he even rostered Amari Cooper!

Per FBGs ranks:

This is what I rely on this week:

QB: 11/15
RB: 18, 32
WR: 9, 12
TE: 2
Flex(2): RB34/WR15/WR34
K: 3/14/15
TD: 9/20/21

:help:

With Egbuka back, I at least have enough players to get 2 flex players who can actually score points. I do have 11 of the top -30 most owned players above - which helps and hurts. It helps keep me within reach - given how many teams have my players, but it hurts in that I don't have many differential players to get that extra little push over the top. Ideally, I will need C. Williams to outscore Prescott this week, and for Odenze to get back to pre-Bye form.

Made it through to week 8, but facing an uphill battle with no QB score this week between Lawrence (bye) and Young (injured). Don’t really have much else of importance on bye this week (Charbonnet, T. Ferguson, Jags D) so hopefully I’ll have a fighting chance.

I have 12 of these guys (group think casualty) but I'm alive so I'm happy. Hoping for more Pacheco TDs, anything from TreVeyon, and more from Golden. Monangai finally scoring for me last week kept me ~10 above the cutline.

Yeah she picked the lineup just before the deadline. She crushes on Draftkings too. No analysis just intuition and it's almost always right.
