2025 Cleveland Browns - OTAs (9 Viewers)

What record do you think CLE ends the season with? That amazing D should keep them competitive but I see 9-8 type finish.
10-7, optimistically 11-6
One thing in Cleveland's favor is their remaining schedule looks pretty good compared to the rest of the division: PIT, @Den, @LAR, JAX, CHI, @HOU, NYJ, @CIN
They gotta win half of those to get to 10-7. I think it's doable IF Stefanski continues to put together Coach of the Year game plans like he has so far this season. The defense is going to keep you in games AND WE DON'T HAVE TO SWEAT THE KICKER(s) FOR A CHANGE!!!! Hopkins has been money and Bojorquez is quietly having a solid year ranking as the 10th best punter in the league.

The cupboard ain't bare, you just need to keep the "let's go 1-0 this week" mentality for the next 8 games.

Think they can win 2 more games. Mindset has got to be defeating even for their defense. I can also be hoping for this since I'm a Texans fan and we have their #1 pick.

Can’t tell if this is better or worse for Jerome Ford’s fantasy value going forward

Glass half full: Ford will get more touches with the Browns trying to take the ball out of the QB’s hands

Glass half empty: In DTR’s only start the Browns run game vanished, albeit against the Ravens

Ford will be fine as long as the game is competitive. If it starts to get out of hand then obviously the run game goes away. I don't anticipate the game getting out of hand so I would guess he's going to put similar numbers as the last few weeks.

No Watson likely knocks them out of Wild Card position as well
This pretty much makes us PIT. Good D, marginal QB.

The D against rookies is always the same -- stack the box, pressure the QB. The remedy is to go over the top, if there's time to throw, because the DBs will be playing man.

Daryl Ruiter basically said DTR looked awful in practice yesterday "throwing against air" (no defense.)

temper your expectations for this game accordingly.
I’m benching Ford for Chandler now. Extra carries don’t mean much if they go for no gain against stacked boxes.

the other issue is that they are running a 3RBBC
Sort of. Strong’s usage has dropped since the Seattle game. He only saw 5 snaps two weeks ago against Arizona and didn’t see any snaps last week against Baltimore.

fair enough. but that may be dependent upon Stefanski's secret formula from week to week.

anyway, good luck. there's a wide range of outcomes this weekend. i would personally avoid this game.

You have my attention

Picked up and starting Pitts defense with confidence. I predict another 1 week experiment with this guy at qb and it fails miserably.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see some new twists on offense. I'll bet they have a DTR package in place already.

I come here as a Jets fan and not an antagonist. Your team was just dealt a death blow. If not now, then later. Sad to see it, and it's sad to say it, but it's true.

Good luck. I'm pulling for you guys to remain in games with Walker or DTR.

It may very well turn out that the Browns are what the Jets thought they were. A team loaded enough to get by with basically nothing at quarterback. The Browns have had the scarier defense this year, it seems. at least as far as getting turnovers and the like. Actually, I just looked and Cleveland's DVOA on defense is number one, so I'm not alone in that suspicion or measure.

Cossed what line? It's funny as hell.

You'd have to ask a mod. There was a rock star nominated that we weren't sure was dead (it happened during the draft) and somebody posted that clip. The moderators found it over the line. Truthfully, the mods do a pretty good job here, so we protested but asked if we couldn't continue the draft. We were obliged by management, which was cool of them.

I'm just psyching myself up for the 48 1/2th anniversary re-release on Dec 3rd...

Hope that 5th rounder keeps the GM warm at night when he is no longer with the team after trading away our best chance to win thinking some rookie was going to carry you if Watson got hurt.

When did Dobbs do anything prior to this short stint with the Vikings?

Started games for Tennessee last year down the stretch, including a play-in game. But I get what you're saying and don't disagree. How was anybody on Cleveland to know what they had vs. DTR, who looked good in the preseason?

Steelers have lost three games this year in blowouts to Purdy, CJ Stroud, and Trevor Lawrence. Combined first two losses 4TDs and 0 interceptions. Third loss Pickett went down injured.
Browns three losses: to Pittsburgh with a key turnover in crunch time. To Baltimore with DTR turnovers. To Seattle with PJ turnovers.
We can’t win by just running it. We HAVE to convert some 3rd downs with the passing game.
DTR is going to turn it over.
I don’t see reason for optimism.

this is a "big balls" moment. perhaps the biggest we've ever been around to (hopefully) witness.

may it happen. we deserve it.

I think it's odds on that ANY QB turns it over in any given game, but I also think that they could make that a focal point of the game plan. We are likely to win if T.O.s are equal, and I don't see reason to suggest Pickett will fare any better.

I'm all for signing Flacco. He's a leader, has experience, wisdom, maturity. Hasn't played a lot in recent seasons, but doesn't throw interceptions like some Qb's do.
my issue with Flacco is that he’s nothing like the rest of the QB room.

not saying they can’t retool the offense on the fly, but it just doesn’t seem like it would be a smooth transition.

I don't even know who we play next week but I don't think we stand a chance in hell starting DTR in the playoffs or even against a real NFL quarterback.

I really hate this Browns team. They should be 3-7 but that defense is just so f'n good. I say this as a Texans fan who holds their #1 pick and fighting for Wild Card position.
