2025 Detroit Lions: 3-1 Lions roll over Browns (31 Viewers)

For those handful of people who bet on football games here are the latest point spreads from our friends at draft kings.

Detroit -3 o/u 42.5

Next week, Balt -2.5 o/u 45

Favored at M&T Bank Stadium?

What is even happening….
Actually I should have made it clearer that it's Balt favored.

OK makes more sense. I forgot how betters typically list the spread (DET +2.5 BAL -2.5) and presumed that was from the Lions perspective.

Good thing I don’t bet. Wanna take a run at explaining the money line to me? lol

Bookies don`t cane who wins or loses the games. The just balance the $$$$

QB Jared Goff has now passed for at least 200 yards in 13 consecutive games, which is the longest streak of his career and the 2nd-longest active streak in NFL behind Patrick Mahomes (23)

Jared Goff & Jameson Williams (45-yd TD)
Air Distance: 57.0 yards
Target Separation: 0.7 yards
Completion Probability: 26.2%

Williams has scored a deep TD on 2 of his 5 career receptions.

Willy made a great adjustment when ball was in air.

Goff was outstanding. Reminded me a little of Tom Brady today the way he managed the game.

Worried about Monty.did not look good.

Bruised ribs, first X-ray was negative, MCDC just said they’re running another test before they leave

our four minute offense was really good last year

terrible this year, have to clean that up

2023 Lions first drives of the second half:
  1. at KC 3 n out punt
  2. SEA lost fumble
  3. ATL 3 n out punt
  4. at GB 3 n out punt
  5. CAR 11 plays 32 yards punt
  6. at TB 9 plays 42 yards missed FG
great win today, certainly no reason to complain, but we need to correct this.

MCDC road record:
  • first 12 away games: 0-11-1
  • last 8 away games 7-1-0
over the last 16 games (13-3) he has raised his win percentage aa Lions HC from .188 to 438

Josh Reynolds has 19 receptions

18 have been for a first down

On pace for 54-966-9
He missed a first down by a half yard on first and 10 today. Campbell should have thrown the challenge flag. I was about to post all he does is make 1ST downs, but they marked him short.

They showed the scoring splits by quarter. The 1st, 2nd, and 4th quarter were like 44, 45,44....while the 3rd quarter was 14.

Lions outgained the Bucs 212-132 in the second half.

69 of TB yardage came on their final meaningless drive that ended on a 4th down stop - so it was 209-63 before that (net 3 yards in the kneel down series.)

Detroit gained 280 of it's 380 after Monty went out midway through the 2nd quarter.

As a life long Lion's fan, the difference is in the past when they had a string of good games it was usually a bunch of last minute comebacks or games against backup QBs etc. This year, they look like the better team in most games including on the road.

Made a pretty important discovery last weekend and tested it out today.

I have my DVR on Sling set to record all NFL game events. I did that thinking it would capture TNF, the local 1 and 4 pm games, SNF, and MNF plus the NLFN replays during the week.

Nope. It actually records every. single. NFL. game. From the local affiliate.

Meaning it's not just recording the lousy Jets and Giants games I get, but every NFL team from that markets local channel.

You can watch DVR scheduled recordings as they are recording live. I can switch between recordings and watch any game. I essentially have NFL ticket without having to pay for it.

I won't miss another snap of the Lions all year.

Secondary worries me, luckily Baker is not very good because Bucs were inches away from taking several to the house

True but you can also play certain quarterbacks a specific way knowing they can’t make an off schedule play to hit the open man who wasn’t the primary

There was a blitz yesterday where the RCB passed off Mike Evans to cover the flat. S Kerby Joseph came up to cover the sail crosser. Evans was running free and it didn’t matter bc Baker couldn’t go from hot read to the 2nd option and forget about ever getting to the 9 route bc the pocket was collapsing.

When people see a deep ball overthrown they automatically assume “well the QB missed him.” Maybe. Or maybe he had a free runner barreling down at him and he didn’t have his feet set when he threw.

Deep balls over 30 get completed about 1/3rd or 1/4th of the time bc often the defense is putting so much stress on the QB it’s either take what’s there underneath or heave a punt ball & hope the receiver can adjust.

Bucs fans: how can we stop this from happening

Packers fans were asking the same thing, blaming the good package (Milwaukee) season ticket holders.

Took over Arrowhead as well.

Hope this repeats at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday.

Was not too long ago Ford Field was taken over on a regular basis by Packer, Vikings, Bears and many other teams fans. Time for paybacks.

This was also when I had zero problem getting 4-8 tickets to any game I wanted for free.

Been wondering what to do with this stupid Blue Ski Mask I ordered after the Chiefs game.

Been on the one of the benches in the breezeway, needs to be thrown in the goodwill bag in the coat closet. Keep seeing pictures of fans in the lower bowl takeover from Lambeau and Raymond James, you see 25 or 60 fans, there’s always 1 guy or maybe 2 still trying to rock one.

Wifey, on the regular, will pull out a killer dress or outfit I’ve never seen…is that new honey?
“Naw, have had it 6 month, just never wore it.” Dafuq!

I digress…I mean, I outta wear the thing at least once before it goes away. Came up with what I think is an OK solution.

One thing the Lions have to be mindful of is that you are only allowed to bring back 8 people from IR in a given season and we already used up 2. This is probably why we will not see Hooker or Cabinda back this season. We still have hope of bringing back Pascal, Houston, Nelson, and CJGJ. With all of Detroits injuries how they use IR is going to be an issue.

My scouting department has a question. Was Baker Mayfield really bad on Sunday or was the DET defense really good?

He can be effective. But it’s gonna be underneath stuff from a clean pocket. There are maybe 10-12 functional offenses in the league right now. Their passing game is good IMO.

Love the Creamsicle, it's the best.

Is that how local radio is calling it this week? ****ing A man, Bucs are a tough out.

Broadcasters (at least the parts I care to catch) seem to be in the "cautious optimism" category. But there are definitely a share of fans that are about half a step below the old SNL skits involving the Bear Superfans.

Not going to be easy. As has been laid out elsewhere, 3 of next 4 on the road, all those road games against teams capable of making the playoffs. 2-2 isn't what you hope for but certainly could be in the cards, though I'm hoping for 3-1. If Detroit manages to go 4-0 in that stretch, the world may run out of Kool-aid because Lions fans drank it all.

Wifey bought our Ravens tickets early this summer (for my late summer birthday present) by calling the Ravens box office. They were super helpful. 16th row in the section allocated for the Lions player families & non-football staff, behind the visitors bench at the 25 yard line.

Massive difference between coming in 5-1 and 4-2. Hoping they TCB today. Gonna be great either way but would be way more festive if they were on a winning streak.

Not the right thread 🧵 but I just wanna say my wife is the best

Baker was not good under pressure, so a combination of the two. Baker had 4 balls deflected at the LOS, one leading to a pick. Baker also badly missed a couple of open revievers downfield, but the pass rush was on him. Baker was a god on 3rd downs until last week. Goff was much better under pressure and was especially good on 3rd downs.

Could come in handy for a December road trip to Soldiers Field.

Only if we have a windfall between now and then. Limited resources over here in Sheepshead Bay. On a fixed income, just deciding to stay an extra day in Baltimore required a discussion & planning.

We poor but wealthy in the areas that truly count. ❤️
