The Giants have a very good defensive line and that game along with the Packers game will tell us a lot about their offensive line.

Oh no the Lions are 6-4 after getting through an extremely difficult schedule. They just played the defending Super Bowl champs on the road and lost by 7 while playing their worst offense game in several seasons and being robbed of a chance to tie. Yes they need some answers on the offensive line and to get healthier there. The Lions defense has looked outstanding, so all the talk about Holmes not getting an edge or a CB was garbage so now it is about how terrible it was the Holmes did not address the OL. Well NOBODY was trading an offensive lineman worth anything. Nobody.

Anybody who does not think this team is capable of winning a Super Bowl is nuts. Their defense looks extremely good and they will get things figured an offense. Now go back to the endless whining about how the best GM the Lions has ever had and one of the best in football really stinks and top it with criticism of Dan Campbell for being too aggressive.

I will get back to enjoying where this organization is, a serious contender for winning a Super Bowl. Something that has never been true before in the Super bowl era.

Hopefully they use a high pick on a center or tackle and get this line back to top five in the league, this offense can't function the way we want unless the line is dominate.

Goff rose to the occasion two years ago. He was great against the 49ers and that entire playoff run. He put two perfect throws on Patrick to convert 4th downs that Patrick dropped. Gibbs fumbled without even getting touched. If guys like Flacco, Dilfer, Nick Foles, Brad Johnson, the ghost of Peyton Manning and Mark Rypien can win a super bowl so can Goff.

I'm honestly not beating a dead horse here, but news like LaPorta is exactly why I say this window is smaller than many of you think.
Last year it was the defensive injuries. Now LaPorta. Frank gone. Decker another year older. Goff another year older.

You just never know what's going to happen. Losing LaPorta is huge. He's a tremendous blocker and a threat in the passing game.
Run game just got a little bit weaker the rest of the year. It sucks.

TeSlaa was limited in practice all week, putting him firmly in the questionable camp. The rookie WR is not fantasy-relevant on his own, but were he to sit out on Sunday, he would cede snaps and a tiny target share to the remaining, healthy players.

I know he doesn't have the gaudiest stats but I really think LaPorta is so pivotal to this offense. His multiplicity and dependabiltiy is irreplacable.

We need to resign him ASAP, right? How does that work? Isn't next year his last season under contract?

I know he doesn't have the gaudiest stats but I really think LaPorta is so pivotal to this offense. His multiplicity and dependabiltiy is irreplacable.

Yes losing LaPorta is a problem. My best guess is they will now run less "12" two te personnel and more base 11 with three wrs. Another option I expect to see are more two RB formations with Montgomery behind Goff and Gibbs split out. Neither will replace LaPorta but sometimes you can scheme around things, like they have done on defense with the secondary being banged up this year.

I know he's a sore spot around here because of the draft capital used (already well covered), but I see an uptick in Teslaa usage going forward. Partly to make up for LaPorta being out.

For you fellow gamblers out there, this week Teslaa is +850 for "anytime TD"

Telsa was a great pick. He will be a future piece to the Lions offense.

Teslaa being a great, good, or bad pick has yet to be determined. 4 catches in 10 games.

With LaPorta out for the year now is the time for him to step up as the need is there. Hopefully they will get him some action against the Giants. From what I have read he is having trouble with press coverage and route running, but that is to be expected given the lack of high level competition experience.

Lions need him now.

I agree but Monty really can’t do any of the things LaPorta does and Teslaa is but he doesn’t seem ready for serious NFL football. I hope I’m wrong but this injury worries me a lot.

We need to resign him ASAP, right? How does that work? Isn't next year his last season under contract?

I agree with you about his value. His blocking and putting up numbers when asked can't be measured.

He has back surgery though and I don't know how serious it is. This could affect the contract they offer.

Makes me dislike the Jamo deal even more. I would rather have ARSB, Teslaa, and random deep threat they draft or sign and LaPorta over ARSB, Jamo, Teslaa, and random drafted tight end or free agent.
