Tua is Throwing his receivers Open...a few post ago or yesterday I discussed this OL parting and giving Tua a wide open field to gun the ball in, that is on FULL DISPLAY on Acho's clip.

I said the other day but I don't know how normal it is for teams to give their QB lanes like that up into the pocket, it's dreamy. Tua could take off and run the football but he stays at home and delivers the ball to his receivers. He knows he can't take big hits, this is a sign of maturity IMO and understanding what his value is to the team. You've never heard me talk like this but I have to.

That's crazy **** but again I focus on the fact he is throwing with NOBODY in front of him, I've never seen that in the NFL. Maybe that's what good Centers do but I'm also trying to wink a little and just say, I'm not sure that is something we should plan on happening all the time. But in recent weeks, especially since he came back form the concussion, I'm noticing an improved OL, no sacks last week. Cleveland has a guy named Garrett that can wreck an OL so they will be tested this week

The down field throws in that 10-20 yd range, Tua is redefining what we use as a barometer. Most of these guys throw dink n dunk passes, of course the completion percentage is 65% when you throw like that. Tua doesn't throw bubble screens and short passes in the flat, he is stretching the field.

Let's not forget, I pointed out when i was criticizing Tua last year that he was injured. He had his ribs cracked in Week 2 or 3 last year and we had Brissett for a couple weeks and were racking up losses, tried to make Tua play thru a very painful injury and I just don't think he was right PLUS the offense was sucky when Flores was HC, that's just the truth and you know I was a fan in general of Flores and think he did help get us going on the right track but the man is worse than Bowles when it comes to Offense

Those 53 and 57 double combo blocks...I watched that other play we both saw when the line parts like the Red Sea, Shell rolls his guy right into Hunt who literally knocks him back. You can't punch people literally on the field but those two arms at RG are weapons and he just hits the guy and stops him, that Hunt is athletic and very strong. He ranks Top 10 out of 64 starting OG in the NFL, that's Pro Bowl level I haven't seen since we had Keith Sims who many of you remember and he actually was a LG. Tremendous blocking from Hunt and I wanted to zero in on these combo blocks Miami is able to execute, they're deadly. They will leave guys unblocked on the back side to double team and spring the front side. Jeff Wilson is about to start ripping holes into defenses that want to play 5 and 6 DBs, pick your poison. Miami never had a running game under Marino...N-E-V-E-R!

There's a great still shot when you stop it 1:22, you get Connor Williams at Center on the move and the Nose Tackle was not quick to engage, in fact he and Hunt and even Shell at RT, there's hardly anyone to meet them as they are moving off the line, I've never seen that happen for Miami, I'm being for real. I am missing out on Pat McAfee, guys sitting around running clips and breaking them down in 2-3 minutes, I could watch that **** all day and they are allowed to cuss which helps when they are emphasizing things. At the 1:24 mark, Hunt is already on to the 2nd level and looking to get his hands on a. LB. He looks like an Orca on the Hunt...wow did I just accidentally do that?

Adding Jeff Wilson and Bradley Chubb improved the Dolphins on both sides of the ball. One hand washes the other, so these two additions not only ought to help their respective units, but help their counterparts as well, kind of an exponential vs incremental type thing (work with me, here)...

...I'm wondering what you Dolphinsguys think about the D/ST Dolphins as evolving into one of those you could consider rostering for a bit. I sure would like to save my FAAB this week and use them vs the Browns, hold through the Bye and play vs Texans in Week 12, at least.

After the Texans, though, they play 3 straight on the road: at 49'ers, Chargers, Bills...I'm a little more worried about 3 straight road games vs caliber of opponents, TBH - I think that offense can put enough stress on even the Bills, to get sacks and force turnovers.

I have the Bills and have kept the mighty Phins all year long, coulda grabbed many but just kept them hoping they get things turned around.
They had the punt block TD, Van Ginkel is a playmaker and I expect his game to elevate with Chubb here. Van Ginkel simply is not a game changer on his own but he's a guy that when. you forget about him, that's when he's at his best. When he first burst on the scene nobody knew who he was and there was a surprise element. Chubb, Phillips and Ingram should eat up a lot of blocks, that leaves Van Ginkel free to roam and he's doing very well. Duke Riley is also playing serious minutes this year.

Duke Riley who was a Philly S/T guy, He's been signing 1 yr deals to stay here, he's getting a phat contract next year, he's rated high on PFF, Baker also rates decent but not as high as Duke Riley.

Should be interesting to see what this defense "evolves" into. The secondary, while young, seems to be holding its own and the pass rush is still bad, but there are enough horses up front to make them more relevant in future weeks (especially with the bye week coming up). Our "non-running QB" run defense has been ok with some minor mix ups (again, likely due to personnel) and our 4th and short D has been good all year.

Crazy thing is this team is 6-3 with 60% of their defensive backfield missing, no real pass rush, and a QB carousel for three weeks bc of injury as well.

Good to read your post, I'm surprised we're not seeing you spike the football. You have been a tremendous Tua supporter when most of us turned our backs, I posted a few places "The Debate is Over!" at least for now and likely the remainder of '22 into '23. We're simply a better football team with Tua at QB.

-In games where the starting QB for Miami starts and finishes the game, this includes a couple of Brissett starts from last year, Miami is 14-1 and that 1 loss was to the Titans late in the season last year and then we had 3 losses @Cin, @NYJ, MN and all 3 of those games, our starting QB was either knocked out, injured or in concussion protocol...sure seems like progress and McDaniel is doing an amazing job showcasing the offense. Maybe we won't go as far as some think but they sure are entertaining to watch for once.

Tua is like 12-1 his last 13 starts and finishes, that's an incredible run of games and they weren't all cream puffs either.
I know many will think this week and next vs Houston are easy wins but I want Miami to use them as games where they can continue to improve.
For example, I'd like to see them run the football even more and especially when they open a lead.
I'd like to see Jones return at DB/CB sometime in the coming weeks, we could use the boost on the West Coast trip.
I'd like to see more Tua throws down the center of the defenses until they figure out how to stop it.
Jeff Wilson looked way too smooth back there at RB, massive improvement over Chase and likely the difference in us winning the game last week or at least a big part of it.

Lots of football left to be played, or as Winston Wolfe said "lets not go sucking each others' ##### just yet!"

Miami has basically gotten lucky in a way they have not in a long time. The player Tua turns out to be a good QB when the right coach entered the building, and lets not kid ourselves, we have the right coach. The fact that we lucked into Mike McD is likely a credit to Greer who tried to get him to be the OC last year for Flores (instead Shanny elevated him and Miami went with the doomed two headed OC approach), and the Flores lawsuit was lucky for us (even in losing a draft pick) in that it brought mcdaniel to Miami and not Payton and Brady. We lucked into Tyreek as well, because if he signs his extention before Devante got paid this is a different team. Finally, we are lucky that the team is all in on winning and has gone the F them picks concept to better the team. Wilson is a better fit than Chase the drive killer was (again, lucky that the niners won the Cmac trade war). Finally, we got a few calls in tight games that have gone our way.

We are so used to "just missing out" on things that things going our way seems so surprising. Tua can ball with a decently coached offensive line. Wow. Maybe we should have been trying for that the past 15 years (Oh wait, we did, but our O line coaches liked Blow more than schemes...).

Finally, I like McDaniel the "guy" as much as the "coach". He's my kind of funny. I hope our owner is never dumb enough to fire him ever (I do mean ever)

Flip to 3:28 or thereabouts you get a very direct answer about Tua, I respect Hill as a football player and he does have to overcome a lot of challenges with his height to jump up and get the football but he does insane things on the football field.

The offense is a joy to watch and it seems like the Oline is improving each week. We've waited forever for that.

Now if the defense and special teams could strive to be average we might have something here. Currently they both have a long way to go imo. Can only hope this upcoming BYE week will enable them to get it together and get healthier.

Cause after this BYE the schedule becomes a lot tougher. This offense can wins games on their own but as it gets colder against tougher opponents the D and special teams will be their downfall.

LOVE both Wilson & Ingold.

I do know this though - we have our HC and QB for years to come.

McDaniel by the way is fearless with balls of steel - seems like he always goes for it on 4th and short regardless where they are on the field.
 
Sort of a replay of the game or when it was in the balance and we weren't quite sure of the outcome.

1st Q
Cleveland manages to return it all the way out to the 47, great field position, where are the Special Teams? DPJ hits us for 38 yards on the 1st play, Browns come out and pop us right in the mouth.
They go on to score the TD and it's 7-0 less than 3 minutes in on our home turf at Hard Rock.

We manage to answer back right away, no panic by the Phins. Great opening drive,
12 Plays, 80-85 yds, 6:00, lot of Mostert early, he got the 1st 4 touches of the game and Miami was able to get out from deep at their own 15.
4th and 1 at our own 36 yd line and McDaniel does what? He goes for it! In all my years as a Miami fan, never seen a coach go for it like that and even as I am writing this I wonder if he didn't panic and force the issue right there but I guess its better to find out early in the game if your team is really with you and that 1st down was massive. As I wrote in the game thread, Wilson converts the 4th Down, gets a few more runs on that drive and they end up making a TD so yeah it PAID OFF!

Cleveland fumbles on the next drive, we manage to turn that into a FG and it stays 10-7 for a while, I'll pick this back up in the 2nd Q in the next post, we passed on a FG try that was almost a sure 3 points and 13-7 Half, instead we turn it over on downs. It's going to still work out and we mastered the end of the 1st, Start of the 2nd, those 2 TD drives is what won the game for us and then we just expanded the lead from there.

You get the general sense of how I feel about at least the 1st Half yesterday

And I don’t like that. Because yesterday if we don’t convert that 4th and 2 (or 4th and 3) inside plus territory for the Browns the entire rhythm of a game can turn on that kind of reckless decision.

I don’t mind passing up FG’s when we are in their territory....but this kind of crap will back fire on you more than win games for you. I am not a huge fan of the analytic age with these kind of decisions......because I have seen them backfire miserably around the league.

With that being said.....I really like this guy. He has done wonders with this offense and of course Tua. It really has been an incredible turnaround from the last two seasons of pure garbage from this offense. And let’s not sit here and sugarcoat it. It was abysmal. Now? I think we all (Fins fans) have the utmost confidence no defense is too good for us. But the weather will get colder, defenses will learn to scheme more to contain Waddle and Hill and Tua needs to keep doing what he did yesterday. And that is being able to use his other weapons.....because we have a ton of them. And the key to all that has been the OL coming together like peanut butter and jelly. He now has the time to go thru his progressions which he is doing brilliantly. Something he showed no ability to do in 2020 and 2021 (yes the line stunk but when he had time he was so conditioned to just take his first read). Amazing what happens when you have confidence in your line, your teammates and most importantly yourself. Tua was a hermit years 1 and 2. Now he is a captain. And I have been his biggest critic on this thread. And for the record.....because I do not wear homer rose colored glasses......I still take Herbet over Tua today. No doubt in my mind. But Tua is our guy and I am behind him. He has proven me wrong and I am so happy he has.

The running game took shape yesterday. Now the Browns are pretty bad vs the run.....so I am not expecting that each week. But we gotta have that in the post season. The threat of a running game, in order to allow the play action and all the motion plays we do (75% of our plays have motion) to work effectively.

The defense is the primary concern. We are simply too soft vs the run and our pass rush can be highly inconsistent. But yesterday Chubb looked a lot more comfortable and his presence was felt big time. But now we lost Ogbah.....so next man up. Every team has injuries. Someone else needs to step up.

We are going to have a very tough road stretch soon. At the Chargers, At the 49ers and at the Bills. Our season will be decided for the most part right there IMO. The Chargers will be healthier and most likely have back at least Williams (maybe Allen too?) at WR for Herbert. The 49ers have a serious weapon in C-Mac. And the Bills......you know that game will be brutal in the cold/snow and a team hungry to ***** stomp us. And let’s not fall asleep on this Jets defense. And then playing in New England.

We will find out what we really are after Houston. We better take care of business vs Houston LOL.

Up 10-7, set up 1st down at Cleveland 23 with just under 4 minutes to go and Jeff Wilson is once again running like a man possessed and they give it to him again on 1st down and we get 9 yds. And I understand you don't want to overuse either one fo these RBs, respect their skills and keep them as healthy as we can, bodes well for long term success and Playoffs.
We end up losing yds and even on 4th and 1 we just try to jam it into the middle with Wilson and turn it over, i think i prefer a FG kick there and extend it 13-7, we worked hard to get there.

We do end up holding them to a punt, credit the defense there.

Tua Tua Tua 8 plays, 53 yds, under 50 seconds, this was what Tua was waiting for to shine yesterday.
Tua Tua Tua throws short darts with precision accuracy and finds Sherf fo the TD and we end up with a satisfying 17-7 lead at Half
Tua Tua Tua you are the man and he did throw for 3 TDs but didn't get a lot of accolades yesterday, he deserves them. He handled things like a Pro yesterday and i never felt like he was out of control the entire day, steady backfield and RBs avg 7-8 yds. a clip also helps.

3rd Q-Opening Drive
Tua was getting hot and the Browns were starting to fall back on defense and that's when Mostert hits them on a 24 yd scamper that looked exactly like a play i saw Wilson run for a TD earlier in the season for SF, wouldn't be surprised if it was the same play. Cannot say enough about Miami running for almost 200 yds and Tua also throwing for 200 and 3 Pass TDs, incredibly balanced attack. I've never seen it here quite frankly. 70s was run heavy, 80s and 90s Pass Heavy, this is totally different IMHO

Tua taking what the defense gave him yesterday.......that was fantastic. Yesterday was probably his best game being a Professional QB. He simply dissected them with his other guys.

I would disagree with Acho on the Waddle throw. It's not smart and he's not going to make that throw all the time, lot of risk and pick-6 possibilities.
That said I get why Acho does this and he is the Conductor on the " Eviscerate Tua Haters" train 🚂
Great clip, I like the pass to Hill, thought that was a big one in the game, put it where only hill is getting that ball,Hill avoids a big hit and gets his feet in bounds, beautiful play

Here is something I learned

Tua only is flashed Man Coverage 33% of the time, that's the lowest in the NFL and lowest since they started tracking this ****, what does it mean?
They know they can't play us Man to Man, Waddle and Hill are simply too fast, speed demons.
The defenses have no clue right now and McDaniel was ripping them apart this past weekend.
They get a week off to prep and plan
Chase was leaving more yards than any other RB in the league prior to the trade, I didn't actually know that but it makes sense.
