I disagree. He played well under this scheme. A second year in it would have made him better not worse. He went out to LA and got paid to be great in a brand new scheme. So far he hasn't and now injury has made it worse.

The OL issue thing is overblown in my opinion. The OL isn't the ELITE group it was, but its still top-10 in the NFL. People don't wanna admit it, but Barkley bears a lot of the blame in the run game. He isn't breaking tackles, and he's doing that annoying thing he did a lot in NY of passing up 4-5 yard gains to try and hit home runs, and then getting tackled at the line. I think questions of whether he's a little burnt out from overuse last year are valid.

The defense is the same issue. Its not the ELITE #1 defense it was last year. but for the most part, its still been top-10. Having 2 games without Carter hurts, as does Nolan Smith on IR. They have missed Slay and CJGJ quite a bit, probably Rodgers too. They just have less depth options. But its still been mostly pretty good. Jihaad Campbell looks like a big hit.

The Eagles are 4-2. That's about what they look like to me, the path to get there has just been a little unorthodox. I wouldn't be THAT worried...yet. They laid a bit of an egg on a short week in a road division game, sucks, but it happens. MOstly disagree about Barkley. Very few expected him to come remotely close to last years production, but he's getting hit in the backfield a LOT more often. seems like every other run he's having to try to make somebody miss before he can even take 2 steps. It's a big part of what is going wrong on offense. Every other second down is second and 11 or 12 instead of 2nd and 4 or 5.

Admittedly I'm going off PFF grade (which I know is sketchy for some, but I think in particular they nail OL/DL stuff) for the OL, which is 5th in pass blocking, and 16th in run blocking, and 8th overall.

have been sitting on this a couple days. Defense deserves a pass for Thursday...they've played well so for this year, were missing their best players, and were playing on the road in a short week.

It's the type of game that teams often drop...divisional opponent on the road in a short week. The loss isn't killer as they are still 4-2. The stats suggest that without the turnovers the score is close, though likely still a loss.

All that said, this offense is worrying me more every week. Yet another game where they look good to great for a half, and AWFUL for another half. It's bizarre how this seems to be the case EVERY SINGLE GAME. And it isn't like it's always first half or second half, so we can't simply say they are failing to adjust at the half...because on a couple occasions they did and the second half was the good half. I just don't get it. BUt in general the O line has been average and the play calling poor...Barkley is getting hit behind the line on first down far too often. Nobody does well when most of their 3rd downs are 3rd and 8+. Almost no motion, more predictable then most.

He isn't breaking tackles, and he's doing that annoying thing he did a lot in NY of passing up 4-5 yard gains to try and hit home runs, and then getting tackled at the line. I think questions of whether he's a little burnt out from overuse last year are valid.

The defense is the same issue. Its not the ELITE #1 defense it was last year. but for the most part, its still been top-10. Having 2 games without Carter hurts, as does Nolan Smith on IR. They have missed Slay and CJGJ quite a bit, probably Rodgers too. They just have less depth options. But its still been mostly pretty good. Jihaad Campbell looks like a big hit.

The Eagles are 4-2. That's about what they look like to me, the path to get there has just been a little unorthodox. I wouldn't be THAT worried...yet. They laid a bit of an egg on a short week in a road division game, sucks, but it happens. Vikings game will be an interesting test, because in theory, Philly should roll in that one, given the Vikings QB/OL issues.

Gping into this week I saw eagle oline ranked 1, 4, and 7 by 3 different sites ... I didnt see anyhing below 7

Now can you stop whining ... my teams been ranked between 28-32 for the last 5 years ... and the poor eagles are all the way down to 7 after ranking 1 or 2 for the past 5 years
Now do you realize how much your QB sux ... the slightest degregation to your GREAT oline, despite having great WRs, RBs and TEs and your offense sux and your now putting pressure on the defense.

70% of the QBs in the League would kill for that terrible injured Eagles Oline!
