2025 Philadelphia Eagles - RIP Positivity Rabbit (2025-2025) (76 Viewers)

Slay claimed by Buffalo. Oh well.
Guess Slay said he'd rather retire than play for Buffalo.

LOL
Nah. He’s just pouting that he can’t be back with his old team.
He’s dookie. Hope he retires.
So you guys claimed a player you believe is dookie

Might as well release him. He's been a model player and teammate his whole career.
Yes. It happens. We signed and drafted players I believe are dookie as well. Not every move is gonna hit. Slay is a good guy, but he can’t really play anymore. It was evident in Pittsburgh.
Slay would have to beat out Tre White to be cb3. I’d hope he’d at least be able to do that as White is washed too, but you never know how he’d fit into our system.

Much like most of the NFL, its all system.

He was a top 20 or so CB in our scheme just last year. He is a zone CB these days not a man guy.

Not a lot of things going super great in Pittsburgh these days either.

I get it though, I'd be pissed if my team claimed a player that is on the Super Bowl hopes track and he still would not want to play.

"You gotta contract" and all that comes with that side of thinking and all...

I’m not mad at him. I actually understand where he’s coming from. His plan would’ve worked perfectly if it wasn’t for the Bills. And Buffalo is a really tough place to play in December and January.

He wasn't a scheme fit for Pittsburgh, he fits us. If he really only wanted to play in Philly, it would have been wise for his agent to send notice to other teams that if they claim him he'd just retire.

Aren’t the Eagles 4-2? Reading this thread one would think they are 2-4.
They are a blocked FG and a Baker INT away from 2-4. This does not feel like a 4-2 team
This is where my 2023 comparisons come into play. Everyone at that time just focused in the record and you could tell who did and did not watch the games. At that time and now, we are winning in spite of major issues. The issues we know going into this were what? New OC ( we had experience with this before), lack of depth almost everywhere after FA, lost a lot of high level contributors and replaced them with inexperienced players and no CB2 or 3

Sprinkle in the somewhat unexpected OL play. We know Jurgens and Dickerson were banged up but at least I didn’t think they were this hurt. Mailata playing poorly and Lane being dinged all season. Hell, even Goedert was one of the better run blocking TE’s and now he’s like 105th out of 114. That group alone was one of our biggest strengths and now it’s a weakness.

All that said, we won ANOTHER SB just 8 months ago.

I’m gonna enjoy the season and decide how much I care come playoff time.

This is my post from 10/10/25. Heavy emphasis on the bolded now lol

No. Then players would just do that all the time and get to go to the team they want.
If he wants to get paid, he’ll follow the rules the NFL has in place and show up to the team that holds his contract.
I personally hope he retires though.

See you in a few weeks

Looks like the Bills chose the spite route and put Slay on IR/Did not report.

Haha and they lost a younger guy by cutting him.

All around smart move.

Bills don't care and I knew they would do exactly that. They're going to do it right. They don't put up with ********. That's why you guys are vandalizing your OC's house while Jim Kelly still gets standing ovations.

Petty
Not petty. Slay has a contract negotiated by the players union, and got a signing bonus. If he doesn't show, they can recover roughing 500K per week of that signing bonus. He wasn't a free agent, he isn't in a spot to dictate where he goes

Like I said, smart move by them. They cut a guy they valued for a guy they had no clue didn’t want to play for them.

And all of this happened because some Eagles fan vandalized the OCs house with eggs.

Or this move caused that?

Sure thing either way.

They must not have put much value on the 53rd player on their roster.

Nonsense. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
Throwing eggs at Patulo’s house was pathetic. Those lowlifes aren’t fans. I hate hearing those stories even more because it always stirs up this type of response.
The same type of incidents have been attributed to Bills fans. Throwing snowballs and bottles at Chiefs players, attacking DHop, wanting McDermott fired…lowlife behavior not representative of Bills fans.
And on the other side, Philly fans have their heroes and they get treated the same as Kelly. Just look at how many retired players stay involved with the team/city as evidence. I get it that you dislike Philly but don’t fall victim to echo chambers and illogical arguments.

You guys are as smart as Eagles fans.

I’m saying the way your fans and players operate within your organizational culture are symbiotic and reflective of different expectations than the rest of the league has or expects.

I’m saying quite clearly: your organization tolerates and encourages unethical behavior from everybody associated either directly or tangentially with it and that the collective rotten behavior spreads its stink to the West in Pennsylvania and into the north in New Jersey.

Other organizations don’t tolerate toxic fans, players who thrive on rule breaking and ethical lassitude, and have leaders who do not tolerate either by using their hierarchical positioning to tell a fan never to come around again and who look out for the sanctity of processes that keep the NFL honest and from becoming a playground of ME! MINE! I WANT!

No, the Bills are acting in their own self-interest even if they lost a player.

But Terpman22 has it wrong. They cut the player to claim Slay (who did not report) and did not lose him because they put Slay on the retired list

Once again, the tribalism and reflexiveness that permeates this sick fan base and thread prevents any real knowledge of anything.

This is the kind of analysis one would expect from a Terpman22 who cheers injuries

And if you think my problem with your “franchise” sounds personal, then you’ve hit on a truth. You’re right. It’s existential because I think and believe concepts like "ethics," "decency," morality," "people as ends unto themselves," "propriety," and "upright solidity," are important. You might not agree and approach things from a vantage point where winning at all costs for Filadelfia is fantastic. I happen to disagree and will continue writing exactly what I think until the cows come home, as they say—and if this is too much of a sermon that is really causing discomfort because it acts as a mirror to the self or as the window to your friends and fellow fans, then make the most of the look inside or the reflection to do the same.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

I believe Patullo has never called plays in the NFL before this season, if that is true

It is really showing he is not good at it, as that is probably the main reason why they are struggling on offense
He is no Kellen Moore that's for sure

We’ve said that a bunch in this thread, multiple times. For whose benefit did you write that?

I wouldn't read all that if you paid me, but I love that you took the time to type it all out. lol Man, being the champs really pisses people off.

I also love that a Cowboys fan liked it.

big game tonight. can we finally play a complete game?
At this point I just want a win. Don't care how.

For sure. Hoping the defense plays way better than what we saw vs the bears and the running game shows some life
If Barkley is ineffective again, I'd love to see them get Tank Bigsby in the mix. He's looked great on his limited carries this year (behind the same 'terrible' line that Barkley apologists keep talking about). At some point they have to adjust to things that aren't working.

Yes. This is why we all hate the OC

Interesting. I am literally the exact opposite. I want a win of course, but I want to see this offense be functional. This game is not a must win for me as they could lose here and lose to the Bills and still take the division. I'm far more interested to see if they can produce points at a clip that will stay ahead of the defense by a wide margin. I'd almost rather see them lose 38-35 but see Nick calling plays, Saquon/Bigsby getting chunk yards, Jalen distributing and hitting open receivers, etc. Almost.

I'm of the same mind set. An ugly win just brings us back to what we have had most of the season. Yeah it's a win but we aren't going anywhere playing like that.

I happen to disagree and will continue writing exactly what I think until the cows come home, as they say—and if this is too much of a sermon that is really causing discomfort because it acts as a mirror to the self or as the window to your friends and fellow fans, then make the most of the look inside or the reflection to do the same.
I wouldn't read all that if you paid me, but I love that you took the time to type it all out. lol Man, being the champs really pisses people off.

I also love that a Cowboys fan liked it.
Most everyone I know hated the eagles when they were ringless also

if the Eagles offense wants to get going they need to start with some little things. Start with up tempo. Spread em out, use some motion. Motion Smith/AJ to the slot creating mismatches. I need some Jet sweeps to Devonte and get Sanders more involved on the passing game. Run more RPOs and Read Options with Hurts. Mix in Bigsby and Shipley especially Shipley on passing Game. Get more playaction going. Get Grant Calcatarra off the field. He’s better suited as a sideline cheerleader because I can’t see anything he does well on the field. Get a trick play or two in there. Slow it down when needed but mix it up. I remember the days of us using Vick and Wentz and running a PA rollout deep first play once in awhile. Haven’t seen that in awhile. Run slants to AJ.

Heck Mike Kafka has been more creative running the Giants offense since Daboll was fired than we have done all year. Get the guys more relaxed out there.
