2025 Philadelphia Eagles - RIP Positivity Rabbit (2025-2025) (94 Viewers)

As a neutral observer on this game, the one thing about Patullo is it seems he just has no game feel. Like, he doesn't call a game based on how things look on that day. It's like he has a list of plays and just calls whatever.

The one that struck me was a designed quarterback run maybe early second quarter. I can't remember the down and distance but the Eagles hadn't established a running game yet. It was maybe a second and long or something. And Hurts had no chance. Like, 4 guys in the backfield a split second after the snap.

I thought to myself "why would you call that there?" It's baffling. He is a problem as you guys already know.
He’s like a dude playing Madden and just hitting the random play call option. It’s baffling amd frustrating.

The bigger problem is that he doesn't seem to be a very good practice coach getting the players prepared for gameday. Then their lack of discipline gets combined with the lack of play calling experience and viola, you get what we got.

In the past five weeks, the Eagles are scoring TDs on 13.6% of their drives. The only teams worse are the Jets and the Raiders — and the Eagles are closer to 32 than they are to 29.

They haven't exceeded 21 points in 5 consecutive games. That's the longest stretch of the Nick Sirianni era.

They now have the 3rd-most turnovers in the league during this period. And their RZ efficiency, which has been a calling card of the offense this season, is down to 46.2% during this period.

It's the opposite of 2024 — they came from the bye and lost all offensive momentum and identity.

Eagles0-3 without Lane Johnson this year and 15-27 for his career without him
Saw this on Reddit last week...it might have been before the Bears game.

Eagles offense this season with and without Johnson:

With (453 snaps):
+0.078 EPA/play
+13.0% DVOA
+35.2 expected points

Without (159 snaps):
-0.097 EPA/play
-0.80% DVOA
-15.5 expected points

Reminds me of SF when Trent Williams was hurt and they were completely out of sorts.

Yep. Lane is the anchor of the offense. Has been for years.

Well here we are at 8-5 in the midst of another potential collapse, however.

I have reason for hope this time vs 2023.

1. We are the champs, we just won it all, we know how to win.
2. Lane should be back for the playoffs. The line has been bad bad this year, but its obviously much better when he plays.
3. This defense is still VERY good. Even with Carter on the shelf right now currently. Would like to see Vic be able to unleash Phillips
4. The schedule. Raiders, Commanders, Bills, Commanders. The offense is bad right now, but all of these defenses are....also bad. And besides Allen, none of these teams have QBs playing well right now.
5. The field in the NFC. Rams are good good. but let me tell you I have yet to attend a Rams game here in LA that the Eagles have lost.
The rest of the NFC I would not be fearful of a loss whether that is Seattle, Chicago, Packers, Lions.

Lets get the Raiders win (please?) and hopefully build some momentum, lock the division up and get to the dance.

Aaaand Jayden Daniels just got ruled out for week 15, what are the odds he is even playing these games against the Eagles?

Anyone on that team that has a hand in him playing again this season should be immediately fired.

Honestly Mariota is better for them this year with Daniels injury. It's be better for us if he tried to play.

so true, based on how easy it was for him to reinjure himself, what was he doing in that game. don't waste your franchise QB on a lost season.

You are probably right, but Looking at the splits, its not like either guy has been good at all this year. But I'll take the "known" commodity right now facing Mariota instead of Daniels and having Vic and the defense ready to go.

Hopefully.

The #Eagles' loss to the LA Chargers marked Jalen Hurts' first career game with 4 INTs.

Per Elias Sports Bureau, Hurts also became the first player to commit two turnovers on the same play since at least 1978.

If you don't fix your run defense you aren't going anywhere. No team can win if they can't stop the run.
You are not wrong there, and the overall stats of last game look bad, but its gotta get better. Last game 160+ yards and 60+ were from Herbert, who actually lead the team

We can't let running QBs run all over us, although, I'm not sure which one in the playoffs would do that this year - Caleb Williams maybe?

Kenny Pickett revenge game? 😄

QB Geno Smith, dealing with a shoulder injury, is considered unlikely to start on Sunday, sources say. He won’t practice today.

That would put Kenny Pickett in line to start against the #Eagles, his former team.

Ahaha who is getting revenge though?

Super Bowl Champion Kenny Pickett?

This sure feels like it should/will be a heavy Jeanty game.

Which scares me...

If the playoffs started today, the matchup would be against the Niners. Not a great running QB but they do have a pretty decent RB.

In our current state, I would not want to play the niners. Our defense is good but they have enough to get creative and score at least 24-27. I can't imagine our offense puts up that much in a must win game.

Yeah I wouldn't be thrilled about the playoffs starting TODAY.

In a few weeks with hopefully a few guys back from injury (Carter/Lane) and mix in the unknown injuries that will assuredly both happen AND affect playoff teams, hopefully we will be feeling better.

But if we lose to Picket and the Raiders.....

Just hope that the game isn’t close in the 4th quarter because the one (and probably only) thing that Pickett was good at in Pittsburgh was 4th quarter comebacks.

I don't see it. During the 2023 meltdown we knew the Eagles were in freefall. We hoped they would turn it around but had no confidence. During that ENTIRE game against the LAC, I honestly thought they were going to win. Even in OT I thought they would win. OTher then the one Giants game, the losses this year have come against quality opponents, and they've been highly competitive, close games. If asked if we'd take a 1.5 game lead and 8-5 record into week 15 pre-season, most of us would have said yes.

The defense has had a couple rough against the rush games recently, but overall is pretty darn good. The offense is showing some signs of improvement, thoughis clearly still not hitting on all cylinders. I was not happy with AJB this past game, but barkley looked better. HUrts played poorly, but uncharacteristically so. The offense was better on third down, and had fewer penalties. There ar eplenty of good reasons to be optimistic right now....including a look at the schedule and seeing (FINALLY!) a break. I fully expect at least 3 of these 4 games to go our way, and I fully expect to see a little more improvement in the offense.

All of that said, if it's only a little more improvement, they are unlikely to win more then one playoff game. The team just isn't as good. And THAT said, I remember Eli Manning and the Giants going on a historic post season tear beating a previously unbeaten Pats team for the title. Get there first and ya never know. And the Eagles WILL get there.

eagles had a better shot with Geno then Pickett playing QB. Geno has been like really really bad and at times looks like he’s never played a single game at QB in his life. In their current states KP is a far better option for LVR then Geno Smith

You guys might appreciate this.

I'm not being a jerk. Click the link. Strength of non-divisional schedule with Vegas as the comparative variable.

I honestly have no idea what that "adjustment" is, but I do know Philly has faced a brutal schedule this year

Yeah, I think he's using the implied total from Vegas lines and probably adjusting for how high the over/under is. I remember in baseball analytics that teams with a higher number of runs scored, all other things constant, outpaced their expected wins that the equation gave as an answer from the input statistics. I forget how that worked, but I'm gathering the over/under is similar.

Vegas usually does really well as a baseline compared to other team statistics like point totals and similar stats. But tough schedule for sure.

Just saw the "power rankings" scroll across the bottom of my TV screen. Among the top 10 teams, Philly has played 5 of them, and will play a 6th. That doesn't include KC (who have fallen off a cliff since Philly played them) Tampa (same as KC) or LAC (who just missed). Eagles are 3-2 in those games (5-3 if you include the other 3), and will play another (Bills, currently 6th).
NOt only is that a brutal schedule....but it's a fairly good result.
