2025 Philadelphia Eagles - Schedule leaks are trickling: Sunday 1pm games are going to be more rare than a Cowboys playoff victory. (13 Viewers)

McKee is good. So glad Pickett is gone and McKee is #2 now.
I actually liked Pickett as a back up. He didn’t lose us games in there. Ig Smith catches that ball and Calcaterra blocks we win in WAS.
Pickett's underrated in my opinion. If he hadn't been a 1st round pick, I think people would have a higher opinion of him. I do think McKee is absolutely capable of being the backup though. I think DTR is awful, and no lock to make the roster.

This trade just screams that the Eagles want McKee to be the #2 and just wanted to pick up an extra draft pick. DTR being thrown is is probably just a salary offset for the Browns.

CJGJ for Kenyon Green is a headscratcher, and I say that as someone who things CJGJ is pretty overrated. Green has never looked like he's any good, when they got Becton he'd at least had moments. Green has been no better than a random day 3 rookie would be. Stoutland is awesome, but this will be his toughest task yet.

Wonder if the Eagles are eying up Malaki Starks or Nick Emmanwori?

Green has some pretty crappy PFF grades.

I dunno man. Just a puzzling move overall there HAS to be more.

They could also just think Sydney Brown is ready for a bigger role.

I like Brown but he hasn’t proven anything and Reed is ok there if you got a safety like CJ or someone better there. When CJ was ejected in the Washington game defense clearly looked different not in a good way.

I believe Green was one of the picks used in the Watson trade too he’s been injured a lot and had a lot of penalties. Pff graded him as one of the top 5 worst guards in the league.

True but a few things are at play here that gotta be true.

Howie doesn't make any of these D moves without consulting Vic
CJ was chirping
Becton was too expensive
Steen must NOT be the guy, right?
Howie usually strings moves together, so I'd expect another move, a trade probably.
Vic like Sydney Brown

I'm not sure Green will beat out Steen for that open guard spot.

CJ GARDNER JOHNSON TRADED TO TEXANS WTF
I hate this
LIVID
He definitely added some toughness that was lacking in 2023. But they filled a hole at guard and saved some $. I'll hold off on judging until I see how they use the savings.
They really didn’t fill a hole at all. Graded as one of the worst guards, often injured and a ton of penalties. I never saw what made green a 1st rounder and he never showed much in that talent. At least Becton did show flashes early in his career.

Yeah me either plus guards in this draft are pretty good especially further down you go so why trade for a guy?

CJ had to be talking mad **** behind the scenes after Saquon got paid.
I can definitely see this being an issue
5 different teams in 5 years for someone as talented as him raises a ton of red flags
Yeah I mean, he also DID say none of his beef with Slay was contract related.

But ya know, semantics and all. He is like one of those guys like Josh Sweat that probably felt they have been underdrafted/underpaid their entire career.

At the same time, if you JUST signed a deal and think "Well Saquon got a new one so I should too" thinking you are on the same plane....mistake.

Anyway, really hoping for the next "big" move to swing the pendulum back, but it might be some time

CJGJ had to be stirring **** up that we haven’t heard about. Yet. He is one of those dudes that has the troubled character of a TO, talented, but a wildcar with a tough personality to keep focused.

Otherwise, this move makes ZERO sense. He had a huge impact on the D, bringing toughness, swagger and good (not great) play at S. Sydney Brown is not ready to take that jump, and getting some scrub OG in return and some late round picks next year and the year after? They aren’t even saving anything cap-wise.

I do not like this move.

I’m not acting like he is all-world- I even said “good (not great) play at S”. But the move makes a hole on the roster, and doesn’t get us anything in return. Unless Vic sees something in Sydney Brown, or has some plan to move Coop to Safety (I don’t like that, either) they have to spend draft capital or more cap soace signing a FA.

I trust there was a reason for the trade. And I don’t think it means we fall off a cliff. But this strikes me as a discipline/culture move, rather than a pure football move.

Don’t love the trade. Lose a solid S to get a mediocre guard and a 6th?

Nope, not a deal I’d make.
And most wouldn’t have signed Becton and made him a starter either. I wouldn’t be so hasty to say he’s mediocre
Becton at least had flashes of his skill and talent plus is was a 1 yrs deal. This you traded a starting safety for maybe a back up G

Had we done this yesterday and Signed Trevor Moehring I’d have been fine with this

How about Justin Reid?

No one knew who CJ Gardner Johnson was until the Eagles traded for him.
No one knew who Zack Baun was and now he's the best MLB in football.
No one knew Jeff Stoutland could literally turn water into wine with Jordan Mailata
No one knew Q and Coop would be the highest graded man cover corners in the league year 1.

Just want to throw these out there bc there are FOR SURE more moves to be made where we go "who/what" and then it turns into "oh wow"

We are all hyped and pissed right now.

30 days off our 2nd Lombardi Trophy.

There *IS* a plan. We just are not privy to it.

I wouldn’t be so hasty to say he’s mediocre
Ok, what I’ve seen so far is he’s been mediocre.
Right. And Jordan Mailata literally never touched a football in his life before we got him and now is a consensus top 5 OT.

Not saying I like the move at all, but I at least factor Jeff Stoutland's tutelage into this deal.
I can’t factor in something I haven’t seen yet. Right now it’s a starting safety, and one of the better ones in the league, for a questionable guard you’re hoping they can get into shape.

Not great, Bob.

I don’t think anyone’s making a global statement that the Eagles are toast now. They’re still the team to beat in the NFC as far as I’m concerned.

It’s just a weird move.

This one was for Eagles fans, more than opps, but I get it.

It IS a weird move.

With that said, Becton will be moving on assuredly, hoping his contract is big enough to net another 4th comp pick

Flashes? He was first in the league in penalties and 2nd in giving up sacks and one of the worst graded OL in the league.

Exactly. Right now the deal is not a favorite of mine, however, if he gives you Becton type of performance it lessons the blow a ton. It’ moves into a plus trade if we nail the pick and replace CJ. Gotta see how the rest of the chips fall

They've won two Super Bowls and been to a third in the past 8 years. At this point, I think the FO deserves some grace in regards to making decisions. WIP is the worst. That Chicken Little guy with Hugh has been unsufferable for the past couple of weeks.

If Jeff Stoutland can turn water into wine, why isn't Tyler Steen a pro-bowl guard by now?

Cmon man. Why didn't Andre Dillard work out also? Seems a bit of a blistering hot take "Unless he develops every offensive lineman into a top 10 guy..." feel from this one
