*** 2025 Pittsburgh Steelers: good draft on paper. Back to the Rodgers wait (15 Viewers)

Huh, maybe the Steelers should have stuck with this guy?

The Patriots are signing Robert Spillane, per Ian Rapoport. It's a 3-year, $37 million deal.

Spillane spent the last two seasons with Las Vegas and played in every game. Last season, he finished with a career-high 158 tackles. Spillane had two sacks and two interceptions.

Titans sign OT Dan Moore Jr. to massive deal

1:00 p.m. -- The Titans are loading up on the offensive line. Tennessee is signing offensive tackle Dan Moore Jr. to a massive four-year, $82 million deal, per Ian Rapoport. $50 million of the deal is guaranteed.

Best news I got for Steelers fans is we are going to get an enormous amount of comp picks next year but that draft won't be as deep as this one. I know part of that formula accounts for the players you sign but Dan Moore is going to get paid, might be best OT on the market as hard as that is to believe. Add in at least one if not both of our QB's getting paid, Daniels will have a nice market because G is super weak in this draft and then Najee.

Could/should be looking at multiple thirds. Can see them dealing some picks next year for some draft capital this year on notion they know the comp picks will be coming.

They just bought us a third round comp pick.

More to come.

Daniels I believe is going to surprise a lot of people here with what he gets paid.

Twitter is in and out and again all day. Not working now. Was this about Rodgers?
Yeah: Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers are closing in on a deal with Aaron Rodgers. The interest began when it became clear to Pittsburgh that Justin Fields wanted to test free agency.

Yea, I am telling you that they thought they had a deal with Fields done, and then suddenly the agent said they are testing the market, and it has been a scramble since then. Assume it was a lowball offer. I think Russ is still in play potentially.

Florio says the Jets are offering more than the Steelers are willing to pay so there you go. So they'll pay more probably for a 1 year rental with a good chance of flopping.

I don’t know who makes the decision but it sounds like Darnold to Seattle, Fields Jets, and then Russ and Arod Steelers or Giants. But Steelers talking to all 4 ….

Seems like Darnold waiting it out would be a smart move. Make the others panic once Fields signs with the Jets.

Steelers could always go get Danny Dimes!
Could be the backup. But I assume Vikes try to keep him once Darnold is gone.
I think that like Zach Wilson being out of NY and in a good system could make them into decent starters some day.
I actually agree but keep that opinion to myself because I just assume no one would agree with it.

Counter argument is he could not win the #2 job in Denver. That's fair IMO.

I just think he has tools and youth and we know how difficult a situation he was in that I'd truly be very pleased if he was brought in the mix. That's the most I can go, part of the mix.

I don't think the bold is an accurate assessment at all.

Stidham was re-signed w/ Broncos because he's a cheap backup for life.

Z. Wilson has QB1 upside and wants to pursue a starting QB competition and more money elsewhere. There is nothing to suggest Payton wouldn't have kept Wilson over Stidham.

:shrug:I don't see how it's even debatable. I'm not talking about who they resigned, I'm talking about he never overtook Stidham for the backup job last year.

I’m sorry, I seem to have missed the Z. Wilson redemption arc.

Did he play any meaningful snaps?

Don’t get me wrong - I still roster him in a 12-team SF with deep benches, but I don’t recall seeing him prove himself as a QB1 yet.

I do believe he has talent that the Jets totally squandered, but he still has a lot to prove to speak about him like that, IMO.

Stidham had a year and a half experience in Payton's system vs. three months for Wilson when the backup QB decision was made last August. After that it simply didn't matter who held the clipboard on Sundays.

Literally no one in Broncos Country believes Stidham is more talented/has more potential and would have been kept over Wilson if the financials were equal

The debate is between Z. Wilson and J. Stidham. Neither played meaningful snaps last year

It is just weird that nothing is announced yet. I am hearing it's definitely Rodgers, but he is also their 3rd choice. So I don't know what to think.

Yes, I’m aware that’s the debate. A debate in which you posited that “Z. Wilson has QB1 upside and wants to pursue a starting QB competition” and I’m not seeing how you can justify that comment without having seen him play at or near that level.

No it's not the debate or what anyone was talking about. Wilson was clearly the third string QB last year. You came on here to tell me my post was wrong when it was without one iota of a doubt accurate. Wilson could not pass Stidham as the backup last year.

You seem intent on wanting to argue just for the sake of argument. Take that act somewhere else, I'm not here for it.

I wonder if this delays our FA moves. Big signings will cancel out comp picks.

Lol. Whatever.

If you want to form an opinion from thousands of miles away based solely on some depth chart piece of paper then that tells me all I need to know about the quality of that opinion.

I only interjected about Z. Wilson from having watched Broncos every day for the last 25 years. Kind of like Courtland Sutton last year

2 years, $40M

$30M guaranteed

Maybe I shouldn’t have dealt him in both leagues last year. Just kidding, this will be a disaster.

Probably decent FF numbers though.

Fields to Jets. 2years, $40MM with $30MM guaranteed. I promise it is the guaranteed money that had him leave. Rodgers announcement next . . . .
