Sure - people care about Waco still(although there are sections that look like the 9th Ward there). You been in the 9th Ward in the last 10 years? Read about the gang wars down there? - it's like Mad Max at times. Apparently the guy they arrested is related to 2 guys who shot up a Second Line on Mother's Day a couple of years ago. I think he's been arrested some 20 times. No one cares. It's not unlike so many areas in this country - Detroit, South Side Chicago, East St. Louis, East Atlanta - it's lawless.But this is America if a whole classroom of kindergartners in white Connecticut can be gunned down and no one really cares about that hard not to see why anyone forgets these places.

Nope. That's my point. So...Sure it's bad, but it's expected and acceptable. No need to draw attention to the real problems.

This is not the first time Obama has made the assertion that these things ONLY happen in the US.

This is the third time you have repeated that, but that was not his exact words. He said "This just doesn't happen in other countries." I can't imagine anyone is dumb enough to believe he really meant "this ONLY happens in the US. (as my 11 year old niece could prove him wrong with a Google search in less than 2 minutes). It appears that he misspoke, while attempting to make the point that mass shootings don't happen with this frequency in any other country, and that is true.

What did he mean to say. He said it "just doesn't happen in other countries". Which logically excludes other countries. In June he said ""Now is the time for mourning and for healing. But let’s be clear: At some point, we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this type of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries"

Once can be misspeaking, more than once tells me he meant it. It's a clear exaggeration.

Please list and provide links for other countries that have mass shootings like this and what happened today in San Bernardino that occur with the same frequency they do here.

Ok this gets back to what we were talking about, now we are piling in crime and large scale murders like we see in NO and Chicago, with "mass shootings" by killers like Roof and Dear.

On the one hand Pres. Obama insists on highlighting the murders with racial and abortion motives, then guns need to be outlawed, then we are outraged, then we are disgusted and appalled, But Chicago sees what like 30 murdered on some weekends? Nary a mention. Yeah, I know you posted the policy exhortations, but that is never in response to any one given mass shooting which is just attributable to crime.

- This is a nice little stat but in the presidents' mind the crimes are bifurcated, one type is worthy of mention and the other is ignored.

Dear's attorney, public defender Daniel King, was one of the attorneys who represented Aurora movie theater shooter James Holmes.

"Do you know who this lawyer is? He's the lawyer for the Batman shooter that drugged him all up and that's what they want to do to me," Dear said.

King said he has "serious concerns" about Dear's competency. A hearing to discuss Dear's competency was scheduled for Dec. 23.
