I’m 155 pounds. Why would I want to tackle anyone?

I tried tackling a future NFL RB once. This guy (not to be confused with this guy.) Ran through me. Might have stepped on me, IDK, was out cold. Loved to tell that story for years, but having to explain it wasn’t the John Williams NFL RB you know but rather the John Williams NFL RB you don’t know...what’s the opposite of a punch line? I stopped telling that story.

I tried tackling a future NFL RB once.

I have tackled 2 future NFL guys while in high school: Frank Stams and Percy Snow. Both eventually made it to the NFL as linebackers, but they also played RB in high school. Stams was an absolute truck. You were hoping to slow him down and get multiple guys onto the pile.

*I played some pickup tackle football games against really good high school players, D3 college players, and college rugby players. While I could hang with them in coverage/route running, I struggled mightily with tackling and they were clearly superior.

But it was the other back on those teams, James Brooks, who never ran out of bounds and ALWAYS turned his shoulders (with the comically large 80’s shoulder pads) upfield at the last second to put a lick on whoever was in front of him.
