3rd Shark Pool Mock Draft (1 Viewer)

Why do people sign up and then stay away for 2-3 days? I'd like to see this done before the real draft. Is that possible?
It's the weekend. Not as many people are on over the weekend. That's why I had it set to start tomorrow. No big deal.

The Seahawks are very open to offers. For those of you who've expressed interest in moving up, or directly in the pick, you will have a PM from me within the next hour or so.

I'm glad I put in that pick Sat. evening before getting replaced because we were in such a hurry to get this going. Like I thought, not one pick on Sunday.......Oh well, let's update this so everyone see's it this morning and we get this off to a bang.

I sent a PM to Blackjacks telling him that he is up. He replied so it's clear that he's aware of it. If he is intent on being difficult then why don't we give his team to "Somebody" and move on with this thing?
Like I said earlier, this thing wasn't gonna get going til this morning. Glad you got to see my pick and then wait a whole day for another. What a joke

I PM'ed Stinkin Ref but a message came back to me saying his inbox is full so he didn't get it. Hopefully he'll be on the board this morning.

let's see, 98 picks to go, in 127 hours.

Assuming 5 picks are made every night after the clock goes off (perhaps an unrealistic assumption), that gives us 25 picks in off hours.

72 picks during the clock time

Clock time is only on 10 hours per day, 7 hours on Saturday before the draft.

That gives us 57 hours for 72 picks.

Call me pessimistic, but I'm thinking we don't finish this.

1.03 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS AARON CURRY LB WAKE FOREST

If you are only going to have one pick in in the first two rounds, you mind as well get the guy who many feel is the best player available in this draft. With a little bit of a surprise happening and Stafford not being taken by the Lions, this pick was fairly easy. One of the OT would have been considered, but only for a moment. Let's not kid ourselves, KC needs an immediate impact player on defense and Curry is that guy. The Chiefs have upgraded their offense so far this offseason and have done so a little on defense as well. However, the signing of Vrabel and Thomas is not the long term solution and the Chiefs know that. Curry is considered by many to be the only true "can't miss" pick in this draft and KC is happy to get him with the 3rd pick. He is considered the best defensive player in this years draft and KC obviously needs help on the defensive side of the ball. Give me the best defensive player in the draft and I'll be happy. This pick was mde even easier due to the fact that the Chiefs do not have a second round pick.

There weren't really even any other considerations with this pick. As an oganization, KC and their fans should be very happy with the direction this team is heading. Adding Curry to the mix tops it off.

Did you try to trade down? I'm not sold on Curry being worth the 1.03 and having traded their 2nd already, it seems a prudent move would be to trade down to the 5-8 range and pick up another pick or player. 'course, the deals may not have been there for the taking.

TRADE

The Seattle Seahawks trade the 1.04 pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the 1.08 pick, and a 2010 2nd round pick.

The Jaguars are on the clock, and have been PM'ed.

He mentioned whom he was moving up for to me, but I will see if he posts himself.

My thoughts were that the 2 guy I most wanted were gone at 1.01 & 1.02, so to pick up another first day pick for 4 spots is pretty nice.

A couple other teams wanted to move way up, but we didn't feel like there was quite enough value there - although it would've made for a LOT of discussion in one case.

Anyone interested in the 1.08 can let me know, I'm open to offers as well.

Shouldn't be a surprise.

With the 4th pick in the 2009 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select

Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure the Jags will have to move up to get him if Detroit passes on him, but with SF and Denver picking right behind us, they could very well make a move up. Most likely in the real thing, the Jags will simply have to match any offer they make to jump up, but here (1) I didn't want to take the time for that and (2) there's no guarantee that would happen.

I was considering not moving up and seeing how far he falls, but the Jags need a franchise QB and I like Stafford that much more than Sanchez. After the big 2 OTs, I think Stafford is the right pick here. Could be wrong, and I could be blasted for the trade, but it makes sense IMO.

Cleveland Browns select:

1.05 WR Michael Crabtree , WR Texas Tech

With no true pass rushing beast worthy of this selection, the Browns will go with BPA. who also fits a need.

PM sent to NorrisB

yeah I answered it in this thread. Im looking for about 650 pts for chad johnson, and I have very little interested in Fred Robbins.

1.6. Andre Smith OT ALABAMA

If Monroe and Smith are gone the Bengals are going to have to reach on someone anyhow. On the football field Andre Smith was the best OT in college football and passing on him here would be stupid.

We've got about 20 minutes until the clock runs out on Oakland...if any OAK homer wants to step in, shoot me a PM on who they should pick. Otherwise, I'll probably just make the pick here in 20 minutes so we can move on

1.07 Oakland selects Jeremy Maclin, WR Missouri

This one is a hard one to gauge but I thought about DT and WR. The Raiders starters right now appear to be Javon Walker and Chaz Schilens with Jonnie Lee Higgins manning the slot. DT looks a little deeper with Terdell Sands, Tommy Kelly, Gerard Warren. Went with Maclin to give a legitimate weapon outside of the RBs and Zack Miller at TE.

Working on a few trade options at 1.08 - for different players with different teams.

Give me a bit.

I've sent all my reply PM's - waiting to hear back from one team in particular I think will be interested that has already made a selection. Might as well create some speculation....

Sorry guys, I was working on a few trades and then got caught up in meetings. Is it too late to change the pick?

1.08 (me) hasn't gone yet, so I think it'd be okay. Not sure how Buffaloes feels since he's running it.

Go for it...I'm not that comfortable with the Maclin pick anyway.

might be a tough situation if the 1.08 gets traded with the thinking a player that is availible , and then you repick and take the same player.

hury and repick and see how it shakes out.

IMO...

1.07 Oakland Raiders pick BJ Raji DT

It isn't that I don't like Maclin, but he wasn't really a consideration for me.

I'll PM next ... and thanks for giving me the opportunity to change my pick.

Edited due to duplicate pick.

1.07 Oakland Raiders pick Andre Smith OT AlabamaThe Raiders should continue to be a run first team and Smith is one of the best run blockers to come out in some time. Some will argue that the signing of Barnes changes this, but come on, Barnes was a turnstile last season and is nothing more than good depth at a key position. It isn't that I don't like Maclin, but he wasn't really a consideration for me. My second choice (aside from trying to trade down a little) was DT.I'll PM next ... and thanks for giving me the opportunity to change my pick.
Smith was already taken...DOH

I was holding off trading due to Punk's repick, and the guy interested in Raji isn't doing a deal. However a couple of other folks still are. 2 PM replies left to be recieved get - hopefully 1 will get back to me soon, but I have an hour.I'd like to get a deal done, so if someone wants the 1.08, fire away. I know who the pick will be if we use it.

Seattle could really come out of this good by moving around a couple of times, get some extra picks and still end up with a guy they really need.

I know you are waiting on some PMs, stevegamer but in an effort to keep this thing going, we gotta get a pick in. I know you PMd me the pick but you can post it w/ your write up.

I am doing the writeup now. I do it notepad, sorry.

Seattle selects:

1.08 Michael Oher, OT

writeup to follow.

Pick traded. see below.

Well, since we let 1.07 get rescinded. 1.08 has been traded. I got a PM I ignored after Buffaloes', which was of course a trade offer reply.

I tried to hustle too much.

Seattle trades 1.08 to the New York Jets for

1.17 & 2.20 & a 2010 4th

RC94 on the clock.

pm sent to fatkid butu he hasn't been on since last night, same w/ the 49er drafter. if any homers want to shoot me a pm on who they should draft just in case, that might be helpful.

With the 1.08 pick, the New York Jets select QB. Mark Sanchez - USC

The Jets really need a franchise QB and there aren't many opportunities to get a guy like that. IMO there is a significant drop off after Stafford and Sanchez so the Jets make an aggresive move to get their guy.
