8-10 teams interested in Trading for Vikings Troy Williamson (1 Viewer)

If he's going for a 6th or 7th round pick, then I think he's well worth it. The Jags need some speed to open up the middle for those tight ends they have posing as wide receivers.

It's a flier pick, and if they can teach him to catch, it could pay off big.

Everyone says this like it's a new thing and the Vikings DIDN'T try to teach him. They sent him to every eye specialist on the planet and he caught 20,000 passes (literally) last off season. The simple fact is - HE. CAN'T. CATCH.

I have actually watched many of his games, so you can step off your lil soapbox and cast your finger elsewhere. My reference to the stats was just to make a point that it shows the QB's trusted NONE of the WR's in MIN, since trust was brought up previously. One of the hardest things for a WR in the NFL is to get wide open, Troy Williamson has shown that he can get open...matter of fact get really open. His drops are amplified because they just haven't thrown it much there and/or the passing attack has been non-exsistant for sometime, so they become more significant. Again, as I mentioned he was a raw talent coming out and it was understood that he'd take a bit more time to come around.
Settle down a bit. What are you, Troy's mom?Your issue about the Vikings QBs not "trusting" their WR's is total garbage. Sidney Rice gained trust. They always trusted Bobby Wade. The only one they didn't trust was Williamson. Putting Williamson's drops on the entire corps is simply incorrect. And when they say a WR is "raw", they don't mean that the guy has to learn how to catch.
LOL at me settling down when your assumption led to a response to discredit me by throwing out the "if you watched the games opposed to just looking at the stats" line. It's the tone of your approach that would bring any form of "settling down" into question. No I'm not related to Troy, I'm not a friend and don't know him personally either. If you actually read before, you'd see that someone else brought the trust issue in reagrds to Troy and I just stated that it appeared that the QB or coaches didn't appear to "trust" any of the WR's since they were so rarely used as a whole. Who knows, maybe it's the lack of having a real QB that's the true trust issue. Regardless, I'm surprised in that you usually have come across more level headed in topics, but you seem to have certain level of distain for this player. Go ahead and grind that axe some more maybe it will make you feel better in the end. :tumbleweed:

I gotcha, and I didn't mean it to sound like it was a foregone conclusion that he could learn to catch. I liken him to a lottery ticket, that I'd be willing to pay a 6th rounder for. Heck, maybe it's all mental, and he just needs to get out of Minny. Most likely not, and he will wash out of the league, but I wouldn't fault a team for taking a chance on him.

My only surprise is that the Raiders aren't pursuing him. :useless: Musta been naptime for Al when the news broke that he was on the block.

I will agree that it's worth a 6th rounder to find out.As for the Vikings, this isn't an EXTRA 6th rounder for them. It replaces the 6th they gave up to get Kelly Holcomb.

and why would you take a raw WR with the 7th pick?
Because you're Mike Tice. You'll notice he's no longer the coach of the Vikings.very :lmao:
