Like it. Great guitar work as usual by Gary Richrath.

I was obsessed with Mindcrime in high school. Pretty sure I called it a "masterpiece" without irony. So I was disappointed to learn I really didn't like it when listening to it today.Somehow Crimson Glory is already off the board thoughZilla made the wildcard pick easy for me now. Don't think anybody has taken something from them yet. I am pretty sure I took this album in one of the first rounds of our 80s album draft. Probably the album I listened to the most from it's release to the end of the decade. Still think it's one of the best metal albums ever.
17.15: Queensrÿche - Revolution Calling (wildcard)![]()
The ryche was my favorite band in high school, bar none
and Rosanne Cash is your guilty pleasure
You're singing along to it right now, aren't ya?and Rosanne Cash is your guilty pleasure![]()
I grew up in the Midwest. REO is a 35 year ache for me.You're singing along to it right now, aren't ya?and Rosanne Cash is your guilty pleasure![]()
Glad you posted just the song and not the video. Those dudes definitely had faces for radio only. You're singing along to it right now, aren't ya?and Rosanne Cash is your guilty pleasure![]()
There was no ironic distance at the time. That came later.Who doesn't like Take It On the Run? That's cheesy arena rock at its apex.
lol and dammit- was just lining this up to pick, but couldn't figure out where... nice one. Love the song. The English Beat talk is making me nervous so I better pull the trigger now.
17.17 Save it for Later - English Beat - Wildcard
Hi Infidelity has to be one of the first 5 cassettes I bought with my own money. There was no ironic distance at the time. That came later.Who doesn't like Take It On the Run? That's cheesy arena rock at its apex.
He did eventually lose controlPosting this in the shadow of REO, so it hopefully slips under the radar... if my guilty pleasure pick gets taken I may slide it there.
17.09 - Make Me Lose Control - Eric Carmen (soft rock)
:mindblown:it's the only song from the decade that can be used as a transition from Double Dutch Bus to Graceland.Whoa - had this in my also-ran list. Didn't think it would be on anyone else's radar. One of the more memorable videos of my youth with that jump roping.17.05 Double Dutch - Malcolm McLaren (Silly/Funny/Weird)
Sometimes you have to make compromises to improve the mix
I'm also moving Double Dutch Bus from silly/funny/weird to one hit wonder.

It was *the* album in junior high. Girls loved it, and we boys had to said they hate it even if we listened to it anyway. To be sure, a sexy lady on the album cover smoking a hookah did wonders for a 13-year old's loins.Hi Infidelity has to be one of the first 5 cassettes I bought with my own money. There was no ironic distance at the time. I'm guessing I'm a little younger than you. Rio was probably that album at my middle school. Girls were obsessed with Nick and Andy. I started S.A.D.D. I heard this the other day on SiriusXM. Pretty damn good cover.16.7- Ziggy Stardust- Bauhaus (Cover)

I saw them twice before the 80s but that cover did give me angst in my pants... wat.It was *the* album in junior high. I like em now. I had freakin' Eddie posters on my wall. I taught myself to play Run to the Hills on my tuba. I wouldn't say that my musical tastes were all that refined at that age.You mean The Band so Good They Named it Twice? How dare you!!I'm guessing I'm a little younger than you. I'm just trying to make sure all my songs are peppy enough for Eephus to jump rope to.I couldn't make mine a bigger mess if I tried, but at least it all sounds pretty goodIt's a mixtapeWe're doing transitions?![]()
I still have more non-metal cats to fill, too

I still have more non-metal cats to fill, too
The Sun hangs low in the Western sky
I bow my head and remember now
Someone's lips pressed close to mine
Her cool hand upon my brow
Hell burns hot for a killer 's heart
A shallow grave in an unmarked plot
Crack of gunfire in the dark
Hand in hand we'll walk at daybreak
One wore black (x3)
The trail of tears is winding on
Many pass along the road
Dusty soldiers march along
As they file one by one
One wore black (x3)
Trail of tears is winding on
Frightened soldier run no more
Arm and arm with lovers gone
No one passes on the road
Two girls wait at the railroad track
For their soldiers to come back
Knowing this will be their last
One wore blue and one wore black
One wore black...
I had that and their Jamboree album in college. There is a band from Nashville that I loved in college during the 80s, but they only have two songs on spotify.17.04 - Trail of Tearshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KmYY65ZGEQ – Guadalcanal Diary [Walking in the Shadow of the Big Man]
Band from Georgia in the early 80s, many comparisons to early-R.E.M.

It's a travesty that Timex Social Club isn't on Spotify
Their catalog probably takes up too much bandwidth. It's a travesty that Timex Social Club isn't on Spotify
This was in my mix somewhere between my original all rap concept and the current Plan Q. I eventually came to my senses and realized that six songs with Elvis connections were too many.Well, I'm going to follow-through on my threat to ruthlessly crib from Eephus' earlier spotlighting
17.17 -- Elvis Is Everywhere -- Mojo Nixon (Funny/Silly/Weird)

There are some terrible re-recorded versions. I'm not opposed to Junior Giscombe making some money off his hit but he should have at least made an effort to make it sound like the original. It's a travesty that Timex Social Club isn't on SpotifyActually they are (as Club Nouveau), but I think all this stuff is re-recorded. However, I can't really tell on Rumors, and was considering it..
I considered it too, but in the end I was just struggling for New Jack. I don't really care for it. I looked at this song too, love it but I think there was only like a bunch of re-recorded mixes? weird. The opening is the best part of the song and they messed it up.17.02 - Let the Music Play - Shannon (One Hit Wonder) I might change it to dance later.
I'm not taking this. None of the recordings on Spotify are her original version, and that is the one I like.
Yes on the history of Flock drafting, and I agree that it's a really good tune.Pretty sure Flock gets taken in every 80s draft, no? I still like that song a lot though.. my favorite of theirs.
