I'm going to stretch the category just a bit- this came in at #42 (on the disco/dance charts in the US) in 1980 after being released in 79'...

And even though I told myself I wouldn't, I'm still taking a song by them and THIS iconic (I'd even say over-done) tune... it wouldn't be an 80s draft without it. (but if there's an issue with the pick, I'll throw it back)

I am doing that for ####s and giggles just to make it more challenging. My favorite Jesus and Mary Chain tune is Head On - and considered picking it but someone chose (I think) Just Like Honey early on so it won't be showing up on my list

If Just Like Honey had not been picked, I would have picked Darklands as my "album name song." Darklands is my favorite JAMC album and the title track is among the 5 to 7 singles I'd pick if asked to pick a favorite (as are both HWIR and Head On).

I agree it is behind the times metal for late 80s, but that works for me. I could have picked from six different cuts. It's an album worth listening to if ever in that mood.
