______ Passed Away Today, RIP (5 Viewers)

Nobody boarded and started a break like Walton in his heyday, best outlet passer ever.

As an announcer, he was often times the most (only?) enjoyable part of watching Clippers games.

One of my favorite stories about Walton was an interaction he had with Coach Wooden after his freshman or sophomore year. Wooden had a no facial hair policy

"Bill grew a beard, knowing that facial hair was against team rules. He said it was his right.

"You believe that strongly?" Wooden asked.

"Yes, Coach." Walton said.

"Bill, I respect people who stand up for what they believe,” Wooden replied, “and the team is going to miss you."

That afternoon Bill Walton shaved his beard."

Oh man, RIP to Hal of Fame OL and Dallas legend Larry Allen. Passed away at the age of 52 while on vacation to Mexico. He was a dominant run blocker and one of the anchors on that incredible Cowboys' OL that helped them win 3 SBs.

This one hurts. Oh man,

RIP to the the baddest dude in cleats and imo, the best G to ever play.

This story has the video of him chasing down a Saints player after Aikman threw a pick. Incredible that a man this size could run this fast.

I remember that, but did you mean to include a link to the story?

One of my favorite players of all time.

First Jim Otto, then Walton, now Allen. Cripes

Janis Paige, actress, at 101.

Watched her yesterday in the Warner Brothers 1948 musical Romance on the High Seas. Between Paige and co-star Doris Day, they lived a combined 198 years.
I've always liked this little number.
Must be one of those Gen X things, but I remember her most as Aunt Vivian (D1ck Van Patten's sister) on Eight is Enough.
I had no idea she was on that show. I had no idea who she was at that time. Thanks.

Homer Rice - long time coach and AD at Georgia Tech - he was the AD while I was in school and it was probably our best run in athletics. NCAA football championship, Final Four appearance and NCAA baseball championship game appearance with Nomar Garciaparra and Jason Varitek.

RIP.

My mom died in her sleep early this am after a year long awful fight with ALS. 89yo.

She was the most healthy, active person- let alone octogenarian ,you could meet. Before ALS she: ran 2x week, hiked (strenuous- kicked my son and my asses) 2x week, yoga daily, taught at local college 2x week and ran a small poetry publishing company.

She's been ready and wanting this the last 2 months, with plans in actively place to go on her own terms.

I'm at a job site and haven't been able to move out of grief for the last 30 minutes since learning.

Sorry for your loss Floppo - your mom sounds like she was an amazing woman - and you are the living embodiment of that.

Sending you a big I-Hug.

So sorry to hear about your mom, Flop.

My mom passed similarly a few years ago from small vessel dementia. So hard on those left behind but a blessing for her. My mom was ready.

Over the past 6 years I’ve taken solace in that, and hope as difficult it is now, that you and your family do too over time. ❤️
