Fortunately my son wasn't in school, but holy ####. A ####### first grader with access to a loaded gun?
Too late:Better to throw out one potential bad apple then to spoil the bunch.
I'm going to give my kid a guitar flamethrower ala Mad Max. You know, like George Washington intended.is an assault rifle really the best we can do?
thanks- people want the parents' heads... but could be anybody nearby with an "easily" accessible gun.The child who took the gun to the North End school reported it had been in a top drawer in his uncle’s bedroom and he’d put it in his backpack, according to Ernster. It wasn’t clear whether the relative lives at the same home as the boy or how long the child had the gun.
jfc.Too late:
He handed it off to two other students before one — an 8-year-old — pulled the trigger
Its the supplier that you need to get rid of. Its more than just the present state of the kid. Its a pretty clear reflection of the type of home environment that he's in. If this is how he is in 1st grade, he's going to be a real treat come the later grades.Too late:

sensitive aren't wehey nutter - take your lame shtick elsewhere. thanks
jfc.
glad everybody's alright. hopefully will get to the bottom of this and punish the gun-owner(s) for being so idiotic.
These parents should have their guns taken away and prohibited from owning guns in future. Friggin' idiots
doesn't sound like it was the parents... but same goes for anybody with a gun.![]()

Gun ownership is a right but it's also a MASSIVE responsibility. If you choose to have guns in the house with children, you MUST have proper security in place to prevent them from getting into kids hands. This is horrible. So glad nobody's hurt.
it's my thread about my kids school. it's serious stuffsensitive aren't we
I am not sure how they would monitor this but I completely agree. wow....These parents should have their guns taken away and prohibited from owning guns in future. Friggin' idiots
that's actually kind of funny in a sick wayThis could have been prevented if the other children were armed.
doesn't sound like it was the parents... but same goes for anybody with a gun.
There are a couple others with lame shtick in here.hey nutter - take your lame shtick elsewhere. thanks
They must of missed the Visigoth in your front yard....It is pretty dull. They arrested a vandal in my back yard once, though. That was exciting.
Please don't do this.Everyone is welcome in the Soccer Sanctuary Thread
Pah, when I was in the third grade, probably around '72, a kid in my class brought an artillery shell to school. What if another 7 year old has two assault rifles?
City councilperson heard from police shortly after incident. She waited on the info a bit, hoping that official word would come from the school. As of 1030 there was nothing, so she posted in our neighborhood Facebook page about the incident. Only posted limited details for that was all she had
Kevlar Geranimalscan't imagine what to do with this information if it were to happen at my kids' school. now what? tell jr to stay clear of kids with guns? dodge and weave? honestly- as a parent, what's the follow up on this?
At this point, since thankfully no one was hurt, it's difficult not to joke because it's so ####ing sad. There are a couple others with lame shtick in here.
Yea, I don't have too much of a problem with the timing. 3.5 hours seems a bit excessive, but I agree they need to deal internally before worrying too much about getting word out.I don't fault the school here. They can't control some outside party sharing details received from the police. While it may not have been the optimal time frame, I imagine there was some degree of chaos going on in the school, and I give them the benefit of the doubt for dealing with the situation internally before sending a less than optimal communication that could potentially cause more confusion and panic.
Full disclosure, wife is a principal and we had a moronic parent complaint about communication exactly yesterday, so I'm a little biased.
If Tim or Squish or white people show up I will cut you.Everyone is welcome in the Soccer Sanctuary Thread

I'm fairly safe in Woodbury, right?Right down the street from where we used to live in STP. Used to live on St. Albans (Larpentuer and Dale)
Crazy. Glad to hear everyone seems to be OK / unharmed.

Nothing new from the school. I keep waiting for something, but I am not sure exactly what they can tell us at this time, or what I am expecting to hear.El Floppo said:Any more news from the school, moops?
I guess this is the world/country we live in- guns are accepted and encouraged... debating having the same talk with our 9 yo, but not happy at even having to have the internal debate.Nothing new from the school. I keep waiting for something, but I am not sure exactly what they can tell us at this time, or what I am expecting to hear.
School continued on as is yesterday. I will see my kids teacher this weekend so I am hoping to glean some more info from her. My kiddo doesn't go back to school until after the Thanksgiving weekend, so it will be mostly blown over by then.
We had a conversation with him about this. Or as much a conversation you can have with a 5 year old about serious #### like kids bringing a gun to school. Mostly just telling him to tell any adult if someone does something like this, etc. He seems unfazed, which is expected, cause he is ####### 5 years old and shouldn't have to deal with this bull####.
