Not suprising, something is wrong.

Ahman Green-RB- Texans Nov. 19 - 6:42 pm et

Texans coach Gary Kubiak indicated Monday that he may be leaning towards letting Ahman Green (knee) take another week off.

"It’s something that we’ve got to take a hard, hard look at here over the course of this next week and probably, probably about one more week and see if he’s going to be able to step up and help us again," Kubiak said. Kubiak added that he's "definitely" going to get practice squad RB Darius Walker involved. Ron Dayne has a good chance to start at Cleveland.

Following this, what do you all think about Dayne's matchup with Cleveland next week? They are not great on stopping the run, so I am curious as to what you sharks think?

Dayne had 122 yards and a TD in week 9, then after the week 10 bye Green was announced as out for week 11. Dayne shouldn't have still been on anyone's WW by kickoff of the week 11 game (115 total yards) except in very small leagues anyway.

Agreed, Ive had him just sitting on my bench for a while in my 14 team league. Seems like he could be a decent play this week. I was trying to gauge the response of some well-informed sharks.

He had some crappy games earlier in the year that people around here kept quoting last week, but I think having AJ and Schaub back makes all the difference in the world. The passing game has to get a lot more respect and opens up the running game. Dayne showed late last year (and in weeks 9 and 11 this year) that he can still pile up the yards, and the CLE defense is no great shakes. He should do well.

I wonder about his career going forward. Anyone know his contract status?
According to Rotoworld ...3/4/2007: Signed a four-year, $23 million contract. The deal included a $5 million signing bonus. 2007: $1.5 million (+ $1.5 million roster bonus), 2008: $3.8 million (+ $500,000 roster bonus + $200,000 roster bonus), 2009: $5.5 million (including bonuses), 2010: $5 million (including bonuses), 2011: Free Agent

Seems like IR is not going to happen anytime soon or is Kubiak playing games again?

Now this week from KFFL:

Nov 26 Megan Manfull, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (knee) may be available to play Week 13. Green is day-to-day and has been inactive for five games and has not finished a game this season.

Seems like they've been saying the same thing for months. Let me tell you something. Ahman Green is done. D-O-N-E done! He's old and he's got broke ### knees. Not a good combination for an NFL runningback.Anyone who is still holding on to this guy is wasting a roster spot.

Oh, I totally agree, I just think it's high comedy that Kubiak keeps messing with the media that Ahman can even play again this year. I was just posting what I had read. Also I found this today.... So yes he's most likely done...From Rotowire:Nov 27 Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said there was no change in Green's status heading into this week's game against the Titans, the Houston Chronicle reports. Green was inactive this past week because of a sore knee.Recommendation: Green has missed five games this season and has not been able to finish a few others, so you shouldn't be waiting on him.

Is there a reason Dodds' early projections have Green getting the majority of the carries? I haven't seen any promising news regarding his status for this week.

Ahman Green (knee) did not participate at Texans practice Wednesday.

Despite a report early in the week that Green was expected to play in Week 13, his status is far from certain. "Maybe he’s out here tomorrow, let’s see," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "Tomorrow has been the target all along."

I agree; and people who have overlooked Dayne will be sorry as I expect him to do what he did last year during the fantasy playoffs--which is help someone win some money.

I just heard on NFL radio that Green might start this weekend. WTH is going on?

Any news about this situation? He could still have value for the last couple games if he comes back healthy. But he could also split time with Dayne and be worth little regardless. Is he worth holding, and could he have any value next year?

Bump for news. He's available in several leagues where I could use RB help, and I'm sure I'm not alone. I see he partially participated in Wed. practice. Any additional info?

Sad to see a good RB end his career like this. It reminds me of Eddie George and those last painful years.
Green was productive last year and injured his knee in the first game this year. George stunk it up at 100% the last few years.

Ahman Green-RB-Texans Dec. 7 - 2:08 pm et

Texans placed RB Ahman Green on injured reserve, ending his season.

Green couldn't shake a knee injury that haunted him all year. Ron Dayne will be Houston's every-down ball carrier in the final month. It's uncertain whether Green will need offseason surgery, but he's unlikely to return to the Texans. They'll have to suck up paying him an initial $5 million signing bonus, but he's definitely not with the $3.8 million salary he's due in 2008.

I'm not saying Green mirrors George's career game to game. I'm just remarking on their general sharp decline.
