Those would be incredible numbers given his situation. With a rookie qb and a short passing attack I don't think he sniffs 15 yards a catch or 8 tds. I would project 70-75 catches 875-915 yards 5-6 tds. I hope you are right though.70/1050/8The most dangerous target on the team...the only think holding him back is the QB situation.
I thought this as well. He looks like a cross between Calvin Johnson and Ashley Lelie. He sure is skinny as well - hope his body can hold up in the NFL.
will he be worse that the Arizona trainwreck from last year of Max Hall, Anderson and Skelton? They still threw for 3200+ yards....those passes/yards have to go somewhere...they'll be behind a ton so he'll get a lot of garbage time and he'll get a ton of targets. They will be behind a lot, and by a lot I mean the entire season. So, they should be throwing the ball. However, The QB is a big downgrade. I am thinking 50/750/5
His body frame is.So now he's getting compared to future NFL hall of famers Moss and Fitzgerald? Wow.![]()
Moss had incredible speed and rarely venture over the middle. Green does not have his deep speed and he will be making a living on short passes (which equates to more contact). This guy looked skinny too.He sure is skinny as well - hope his body can hold up in the NFL.
Green certainly doesn't have Moss speed, but that doesn't mean he can't be a deep threat. He's (4.50) essentially the same speed as Fitzgerald (4.48 - 4.51) or Vincent Jackson (4.46), and that's track speed, not pad speed.Moss had incredible speed and rarely venture over the middle. Update by the same source below:Green has no brace on knee: Bengals WR A.J. Green , No. 4 overall pick and star of training camp to this point, returned to practice at full speed without any brace or wraps on the right knee he hurt during Wednesday's practice. Green declared himself 100 percent. Green looked the part with multiple acrobatic receptions and two touchdowns during a red zone drill. "I am fine," Green said. "I was sore yesterday and just took precaution."Via CBSsports player page:
Injury scare for rookie WR Green: Bengals rookie WR A.J. Green hurt his right knee early in Wednesday's practice and did not finish. He had it wrapped in ice and walked off to the locker room without a noticeable limp, accompanied by a trainer. Both he and head coach Marvin Lewis suggest that the injury wasn't serious. Green hopes to return to the field Thursday.

Green has plenty of speed and actually has more speed then Fitz, maybe not quite a randy Moss but he has Good enough speed, and he has great hands, route running and leaping ability... AJ green could have 70-1100 and 10 tds If used correctlyMoss had incredible speed and rarely venture over the middle. Green does not have his deep speed and he will be making a living on short passes (which equates to more contact). This guy looked skinny too.He sure is skinny as well - hope his body can hold up in the NFL.
In his defense Moss was not a HOF when draft, was he? We are all making comparisons, and Green is a helluva talent. So now he's getting compared to future NFL hall of famers Moss and Fitzgerald? Wow.![]()
AJ will be a stud. IMO he's already a top 10 talent at the position and in 3 years will be top 3. Fantasy wise, his QB situation doesn't look good right now. Dalton doesn't seem capable of accurately throwing the deep ball. He is young however and that could improve. Better yet, Cinci could replace him with a much better option in a few years.Any opinions on him from people who've watched him in pre-season?
No chance in hell. Blanda's 42-INT season won't be touched. In the last 25 years, only one player has come within a dozen INTs of it (Vinny Testaverde, with 35 in 1988). Blanda averaged 3 INTs per game that year, so Dalton would need to throw 50 picks to top Blanda's per-game INT numbers. Even Ryan Leaf never managed to average more than 2 INTs per game.Dalton has a chance to set the NFL interception record this season if he's in all year. Benson is going to be all but worthless.

Unfortunately for AJ Mass, I've read one of his mock drafts.Thought this was a great article written by AJ MAss of ESPN on tempering expectations of AJ Green based on past history.
id take the way over on those numbers unless he plays a bunch of games in the rainAnyone more knowledgable regarding the Bengals and/or AJ Green have an updated projection? I've heard the kid has looked really good throughout camp, he had a 40yd TD in the preseason, and Dalton just missed him on another 40+yd TD in the same game. He is the clear cut #1, albeit on a weak offense. Is 900 - 1,000 yds possible strictly due to playing from behind a lot? Something like 900yds and 5 TDs?
. How many Receivers are as good as AJ bud?? ask yourself that. Michael Clayton had a stud rookie year, as well as boldin, r.moss, mike williams and colston. It's certainly doable and these 700for 5 predictions are garbage... 70-1000-8+ is very doable for a stud like AJ getting 8-10 targets a game... If dalton struggles mightily, which he may, I say bring in Gradkowski, who has shown he can get the ball down the field, and I actually liked when he was starting for the raiders over campbell last few years... Give Aj some more credit, he is better then that.I love the fantasy potential and excitement a pure athlete like Green presents. His upside is very tangible given the flashes of talent he's made in camp and preseason games. He's a player I've targeted in late rounds in every one of my drafts. But I am tempering this with some objectivity in redrafts for this year. While he's a bona fide blue chip dynasty prospect, I highly doubt that Green reaches som of the gaudy stats some people are throwing out. 750 and 5 seems way more realistic to me. How many times has a rookie WR come into the league to tear it up in a situation where he's paired with a rookie QB and an average rush attack? Even though he will be the dominant target in the passing game, the offensive pieces on the Bengals just don't fit together neatly enough right now for me to be confident Green can sniff 1000+/7+.Both Green and Dalton have the chance to develop together -- they are a great combination of intelligence and athleticism, and the WCO installed in CIN will give them chances -- especially if Greshem also steps up. No doubt we'll see flashes of what could be in the next few years as Green provides some highlight-reel circus catches. But I am tempering my own enthusiasm with a healthy dose of realism.
