I'm not really sure what I can do to clarify this. Brooks threw one Interception (which counts as incomplete, obviously), one incomplete, and one completion (a td pass). Therefore he completed one out of three pass attempts, 1/3.

I'd be more concerned about the fact that the O-line was dominated by the Eagles defensive front when the starters were out there. It is one game, but if that continues in the preseason, then there is no way that Brooks or any Raider QB ends up in the top 10. Don't discount the importance of the big guys up front.

I wouldn't expect a 1:1 TD/INT ratio from the "#1 QB in FF in '06" that's all....

Very true that the O-line is critical in having a successful passing game (look at the Eagles last year). But I have to wonder if Oaklands line is that bad, or the Eagles d-line is that improved with Kearse, Patterson, Howard, Cole, and Walker. Or maybe its a little of both. A few more preseason games should shed some light on this.

This Raider OL will b fine. Brooks is going to be gold in redraft leagues that do not deduct for turnovers and Jordan will play very well. If you fall asleep on this one you will be crying in yer beer watching your FF foe cream you with these guys...

I certainly hope Brooks will be good! I just drafted him! I passed on Warner and took Brooks to back up Carson Palmer on my team. All I ask is that he produces well in the first 3 games.

One other thing to keep in mind (along with the average to below average play of the offensive line - which will continue into the season) is that the Raiders play in a division with 3 tough defenses - that's 6 games against teams with defenses that will be very capable of bringing out the worst in Aaron Brooks. And Aaron Brooks' worst is awful. I hope he doesn't pull the yucking it up on the sideline after a mistake routine again this year, because I don't think it's going out on a limb to say that Art Shell won't stand for it.

Brooks is a very risky pick this year - possibly one of the riskiest. If you do take him, take extra precautions to make sure you've got a viable back up.

Personally I'm staying away, for the reasons above, but also because it feels to me like the organization really wants Walter to be the man going forward, and if Brooks stumbles that may happen sooner than next season. I don't know that Walter will make it pay this year if he gets the chance, so it makes the "handcuff" not so valuable.

The entire Oline looked nervous, slow and scared. Gallery and Grove especially looked bad. Just a few series, but not impressive at all considering the team has Shell, Slater and Eatman coaching these guys.Then again, it was the first game and the Eagles first team Dline looks solid on paper and on the field.

Walter doesn't show enough improvement and in fact slumps late in the year. Raiders bring in big name free agent QB or high draft pick in 07. Brooks is cut. Walter is the backup next year.So in a nutshell, no I don't see Brooks being the #1 QB. I see him being middle of the pack when he does start, but I expect him to lose his job a number of games in.
