Rodgers 'disappointed' in how some Pro Bowl teammates played

INDIANAPOLIS — Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be here Saturday when the NFL MVP award is announced, made some news before his arrival by calling out some of his NFC teammates in the Pro Bowl.

Rodgers said on his radio show on ESPN Milwaukee Tuesday that he wasn’t pleased with the half-hearted effort displayed by some Pro Bowl players in the NFC’s 59-41 loss on Sunday in Hawaii.

“I’ll be honest with you,” Rodgers said. “I was a little bit disappointed. I felt like some of the guys on the NFC side embarrassed themselves. ...

“I wanted to know the plays and I wanted to play well, and I wanted to give the fans a show, and make the Green Bay fans who watched and were watching for me and my teammates, I wanted to make them proud of their Pro Bowlers. I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn’t want to play or when they were in there didn't put any effort into it.”

Shut up Rodgers, no one cares about the Pro Bowl.

I think Rodgers is probably still bitter that he's not in the SuperBowl this year.

The Pro Bowl is about recognizing the players in the league who have done a great job. Nothing more. It's a vacation and a status thing.

The actual game itself is a joke and has been for as long as I can remember.

Yet you deride those who try and make it better.Ironic.

Unless they provide some other incentive, it is what it is...no one is going to risk anything.

Needs to be... winners get 1,000,000 each and losers get 0.

The pro bowl is not a real football game. Rodgers and others need to understand that before making comments about how much effort is being put out on the field.

Yeah that would do it. :excited:That ain't happening though. I think players only make like $25 grand a game for playoff games and a similar amount for the pro bowl. I think Rodger's heart is in the right place but he should use his head before making comments like that about his fellow pro bowlers.

You got a bunch of guys playing a game that people get hurt RIGHT after the season ended for them. No one wants to be the guy to end his career on an injury from the Pro Bowl and no one wants to be the guy ending careers in the Pro Bowl.

The Pro Bowl will never be a 'quality' football game. What made it nice before was that it was an island of some form of football in the middle of the off-season where we could see all of the games stars and have crazy festivities like the Pro Bowl Challenge and what not.

The players liked the little Hawaii vacation after some recouping time from the season. Now, they are rushed to 'practice' and 'play' in a game that does not have two of what is suppose to be the best teams worth of players playing and a host of others bowing out for 'injuries' or whatever reason.
