Donte' Stallworth - multiple offers - likely to decide his future soon, possibly tomorrow. He very much appears to be done in Philly. :(

Donnie Edwards - interest from Philly, GB and KC. KC has a relationship (the organization and the city), so the others have to incentivize him to go elsewhere. Adam agrees Donnie has the best chance to win a title in Philly of those three.

Dillon, Duckett, Rhodes, and C-Buck still out there. Not a "feature starter" back in the group.

Adam thinks Philly likely to draft a RB. :pickle:

Philly should get involved in FA going forward now. Should be making moves in next 24-48 hours.

NFC East - Dallas overspent some on Davis. Wash - similarly on London Fletcher-Baker. Giants very quiet. Very different than previous years for NFC East teams.

Schefter is offered a very difficult assignment in late April - judging the 2007 Eagles cheerleaders squad. :excited: :pics:

"Have to get back to you on that one". (Adam is engaged since November).

A link will likely be made available later in the day from philadelphiaeagles.com. The show was 2 hours, but Adam's spot was in the last 20-25 minutes.

I am normally shocked by the $$$ the Skins spend, but I think they got a great deal with Fletcher. A 5-year, $25mm. $10.5mm signing bonus is chump change in this new era of the salary cap.I do think Fletcher is a better FF player than "real-world" player, but the Skins did great......I'm sure they'll mess it up and give Brunell a $30mm re-structured contract.

I guess the assumption is that Chris Brown is signed in BUF???

Do Eagles fans really still think that Andy Reid will bring in a big bruising back? Because I just don't see it. When McNabb got hurt they actually started to run the ball more, but I seriously doubt that they'll keep that up once McNabb is back. And Westbrook is CLEARLY their #1 offensive weapon now. They'll do everything that they can do to keep him on the field as much as possible.

If the Eagles draft a RB, it will be strictly to be a backup to Westbrook IMO.

Isn't Andy Reid still on his family Time Out? Is that one reason why the Eagles have been so quiet?

He's in contact with the FO every day.

Oh. That's better... :goodposting:

no, Andy is available for all visits according to Dave Spadaro.

Oh. That's better...
Point is, his family situation has nothing to do with the Eagles signing or not signing players.

Who should have the Eagles signed?

The only LB I would have had interest in is Briggs, Edwards or maybe Cato June

-They need a safety but there is junk out there

-Still plenty of FA RB's available not to mention the draft, so no need to jump into that mess

-Their O line is set, cant spend any more money on their D line

Sometimes fans just want their teams to signs players just to say they have signed players. I have watched enough of the Redskins to know that I will continue to trust the Eagles front office when it comes to personal.

I agree with your point generally, but Ken Hamlin (and to a lesser extent Deon Grant) is a quality Safety.

Kevin Curtis to visit Eagles tomorrow...
I think Curtis would be a great fit for Philly, and probably wouldn't break the bank, which is what Philly likes. I don't know if they sign him tomorrow though, he just fired his agent and can't hire a new agent (officially) until Saturday, so we'll see. I know Curtis has visited Detroit and was supposed to be sought after by the Giants. Let's hope the Eagles can get this done.

They have made an interesting blurb on the homepage about Curtis "being available to the media at 1:30" - every other time I remember hearing that, means they signed that day...But he doesn't need an agent to sign a contract. It's his choice if he wants to wait.

Who should have the Eagles signed?
Donte' Stallworth
Would be nice but he's a bad deal. Why waste money?
That's absurd. He hasn't even signed a deal yet, so we don't know that at all yet.I am a big believer in the Eagles philosophy cap-wise, but Stallworth on that team made it a different offense. McNabb was the MVP before the injury, at least until LT took over. They should have given him the deal, I thought.

Depends what he is looking for. However how much should a team pay for a wr who hasnt started a complete 16 game season in his career, a wr who has never had double digit tds in a season, and a wr that has never had 1k in receiving yards ?

I
Pro-football-reference.com says that Stallworth played 16 games in both 2004 and 2005.
Key word in my quote being in bold

I agree you shouldn't break the vault for him, but the 1.5 million dollar figure rumor if true is a slap in the face IMO.

Yeah if thats all he is gonna get I would take the risk on him. But as you said, I wouldnt break the vault for a guy who has had his limited production and is in the "program".

Unfortunately, yes. A lot of Philly fans are really, REALLY dumb. Take five minutes to look at their message boards. You'll want to kill yourself. (There are a few intelligent people on the EMB though. IronEagle and SwamiStubbs are two well informed posters.)They were calling for the Eagles to sign Lewis or Green to back up Westy. Yes, they are dumb.

All we need is a decent short yardage guy to grind it out on 3rd and short. IMO, someone like Duckett would be fine. CBuck was fine last year (minus the GB game  )
