what's with this guy?? i think he just has it out for certain players. today on point after he is calling t.o. a waste of money and a number 2 receiver. the cowboys have played 5 games and terry glenn has 3 more catches than t.o.

Not sure were this thread is going but I think Shefter and Mortensen are the two best information men in the NFL. I met Mort, Shefter, and Clayton last year at the DFW airport during the owners meetings and Shefter was a pretty nice guy in person.

He actually started with the RMN years ago. And he used to be on AM950 The Fan. I'm trying to follow in his footsteps as I work for the RMN and The Fan. He then was hired to the Denver Post and was the beat writer for the Broncos since he was in his early 20's! He then went to the NFL Network, where he teams up with his former Michigan roomate Rich Eisen. The rest is history. Very well spoken, very respected in the media, and has more sources than anyone else (yes including Mort).

Fixed for Denver fans. I was sad to see him go. After a while, he was just synonymous with Denver Broncos football.His replacement's a decent enough guy, and he's no chicken little like the Woody Pages or Mark Kislas of the world (The sky is falling! The sky is falling!), but he just doesn't have that same tolerance for the misguided or ill-informed fans that made Schefter so great. I remember when I was a misguided/ill-informed fan, and Schefter was probably the one person who most educated me about football in general.

If we lose Legwold, too, I'm probably going to .

I agree, he does a great job but can come across a bit arogant at times. It might just be me misreading the guy, but overall, I really enjoy his work and always turn up the ole tube when he's talking to make sure I don't miss something.

I heard Chris Mortenson report nearly the same thing earlier in the week. He said that people in the Dallas organization are concerned because Owens no longer has that explosiveness to create separation. Mort reported that he obviously has lost a step and fears are that his best days are behind him.Should we hate anyone who reports anything negative about Owens' play?

I dont think he has neccessarily lost a step, he is just playing in a different offensive system from anything he has played in before - one that emphasises ball control and that he only had limited exposure to in preseason. To me, he looks more tentative at times than slower per se. Only Parcells would know for sure and he seems to like the way TO is playing.Keyshawn never looked great playing in that role for Parcells either, but Key has been performing much better now that he is in the Carolina passing system, no? TO's roll is to catch the ball in traffic in this system. They aren't calling many plays for him to run 20-30 yards down the field and catch it (IMO due to O Line protection issues which have been going on for years). Although I love Adam S's reports - I have to believe the only one who really knows what going on here is Parcells. In fact, I'm pretty sure Parcells stated that it would be that way about 2 or 3 weeks ago.IMO the player is fine as long as he starts catching the ball more consistently (like last week). Doubt Parcells cares how much they spent on him as long as he does what he is told and helps them win ballgames. Which he did last week.Still think Adam is the shiznik though. Who are you on this board?? I would certainly enjoy reading your posts too!

Also a big fan of Adam's work. Great connections and a very good communicator. I value his opinions a lot. Not ready to say TO is worthless here, but you have to admit that if he messes up this opportunity it could be his last. As for Charles Rogers, I side with Adam. Athletes with all the talent in the world and zero work ethic (to go with drug problems) don't get much sympathy from me. I want players that want to compete and work hard to be their best. If Charles Rogers can do that, then I am fine with him landing on another team. But if he is another Maurice Clarett, then good riddance.

Ignore him if you feel the need to but you'll miss good information.
