Addai and (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
I would appreciate it if the FB-guys took an objective view on this situation.

The facts are transparent and before our eyes.

FB-Guys - "RB Joseph Addai ran with determination and showed no lingering effects from his recent shoulder injury.

He did run hard, however, on 4 occasions after a run or reception, Joe IMMEDIATELY ran off the field. 2 of these were 1st down runs and 2 were in the redzone. He held his shoulder at least 4 times after runs as well.

Dungy - "Kenton's played well and we want to get him in there," Dungy said. "I think we're developing more and more confidence in him. Joseph missing the week before may have had a little something to do with it but more and more I think having those guys go and keeping those guys fresh is going to be good for our running game."

That said, Joe is not going to get 24 carries next week so please step away from the denial.

He should NOT be ranked second for RB's.

A RB getting only 15 carries and NO guarantee to be the goaline back should be ranked around 15th. Barber III potentially has more valuable IMO going forward than Joe Addai.

Thoughts?

:blackdot:

FBG thinks Addai the RB who will get the most carries this week. There is no way this is going to happen. There will be at least 10 RBs with more carries than Addai.

Hold the phone here. Those cheatsheets are both fluid and were probably created prior to this latest news. Wait till the Friday cheatsheets and before you blast someone. I'm the first guy to blast someone for blindly following something when all data shows otherwise, but I will not make that claim just yet. I'm gonna wait to see if he drops down the list on the next cheatsheet.

Carolina is not very good against the Run or the Pass. Look for Indy to put up a big lead and a lot of garbage yards. I think it all comes down to who is in at the goal line. I don't necessarily think that Keith is the goal line back. I just think that one goes in on a drive and unless he has a long run and gets tired he stays in till the end. Thus Addai could end up with 100 yards pretty easily but will he get any TD's? It could be a situation where Addai gets 110 on the ground and 30 in the air and Keith gets 60 and 2 TD's. Or those 2 TD's go to Addai and Keith ends with 60 yards. Who knows?

Never the less, I would expect Addai to slide down the cheatsheet the next time it comes out....

Exactly TF. The problem with creating detailed projections as early as we do is exactly this. As I've said before, it's stupid to try to do them this early and we're seriously evaluating if we even should continue doing so as there are so many questions unanswered as David's trying to create them. There's a reason no other site in the world does them this early. There just isn't enough information to make good decisions.Look for the cheatsheets later in the week would be my suggestion on this.J

I don't think you should change it up. Some people on this site can't sit at their computer all week and wait for updates, and rely on the early cheatsheets to set their lineups (I am one). Everyone should realize the projections are early, and things will change...That's why you have the updated cheatsheets later in the week. If you HAVE to set your lineups on a Tuesday or Wed, you should know there is a lot of time for things to change before Sunday

I personally appreciate the early projections and think it gives an advantage over other sites. Obviously more attention is paid to the updated ones as they come, but in some instances, the early ones certainly help.

Personally I like the early projections becuase it's nice to look at the LD and get a feel for the game, but anyone that is relying on information on Tuesday night to set their lineups for that coming week is making a HUGE mistake. Teams have not even practiced for the week and a lot of information and news comes streaming in. Keep up the good work FBG, I for one, appreciate the hard work early in the week (it gives me something to do and kill time at work)!

Thanks rush.I think a lot of people are like you and like the super early projections. I just hate them because there is so much room for us to look stupid when things break. We do all the projections and then Dungy starts talking about a healthy Addai in a 2 back system when we all thought it was just Addai's injury causing it. We respond quickly and send a special email about it advising all our guys but still we don't look good. I am entirely capable of not looking good on my own without opening myself up to more possibilities like this. :lmao:J

I disagree here Joe. This goes both ways, say you have Addai ranked high and Dungy goes out on Friday and says he's going to get 30 carries this weekend , then you look like a genius. Like I said the early projections are valuable, but anyone that thinks that rankings on Tuesday is the final word is just plain silly. A lot happens over a week, and for that matter a lot happens on Sunday mornings. Moral of the story: Don't put too much stock into early rankings and be thankful that FBG is the only place that gives you an early look at what MIGHT happen.

An idea - Maybe a Poor one...

Pin a thread called "Cheatsheet discussion" and then instead of having to type to the people the same thing over and over. Just put a statement saying "Basically the early cheatsheets are exactly that, so take it for what it is. In the meantime, the cheatsheets from Weds. on should be more valued due to the staff's attention to details and better information that can be obtained etc....

The shark pool regulars understand your concern Joe and I feel to that it is useless also. But for those that want it. then you have a disclaimer.

OR just put a disclaimer at the top of the Early Cheatsheets "Use at your Own Risk!!"

Please continue with the early projections. I find them invaluable for things like one-week waiver pickups and even trade talks. Waiting until Thursday for cheatsheets is just too long for a lot of what I need to do.

I'd hope everyone understands that they're subject to change as more information becomes available.

Everyone, this is not about the early rankings. I along with EVERYONE enjoy the early rankings.

The only issue I had was that after the MNF recap is when these early projections came out. If Dungy quotes of RBBC I would assume that the pros (FB-guys) are in the know. With this quote and the lingering injury, I thought the projections would be reflected.

I saw this possibility (RBBC) the moment Addai was injured and as I watched it come to fruition, I might have wanted to possibly make a deal.

So I look to the FB-guys who have the most information out there to confirm my conclusion and see the same projections for week 8 as they were for week 1-5 with a healthy, non-RBBC Addai.

I have nothing but :) for the FB-guys, I just expected to see a less aggressive projection.
