Ogunleye practiced Friday but some are speculating the Bears may hold him out/back...making Mark Anderson a very solid play.

Post updates here.

"According to the Arlington Heights Daily Herald, Bears DE Adewale Ogunleye (hamstring) practiced on Friday for the first time all week. The Bears expect him to be ready for Sunday's game against Buffalo. “We feel we should have most of our team ready to play,’’ coach Lovie Smith said."

Still looking for an online link, but on the Bears Gameday live show this AM, on NBC5 they spoke with Lovie Smith who said O-Gun is OUT today.

Adewale is officially listed as out today..Now we get to see Mark Anderson a little more.

(KFFL) The Chicago Bears have declared DL Adewale Ogunleye, OG Anthony Oakley, DL Ian Scott, FB J.D. Runnels, QB Kyle Orton, LB Leon Joe, CB Marcus Maxey, WR Mark Bradley inactive for Week 5.

Owners beware, word is Idonije will start (no link)

Just a thought. Anderson has been backing up Brown and hasn't been playing from Ogun's spot. Israel Idoniji could be in for Ogun quite a bit. I am just speculating. Anyone know for sure?

oh, okay good to know. Thanks for the heads up.

Does Anderson play to replace him if he is out?
This was answered above. Idonije should start for Ogun. I guess Anderson could see more time than usual, but this isn't the boost it would be if Brown was out. Anderson starts if Brown is out. Idonije if Ogun is out.

Thanks, I posted before seeing the previous. Guess I'm stuck with VanDen Bosch and good ole Charles Grant.

FYI, looks like Ogunleye missed another practice today and remains questionable for week #6.
Any update concerning Ogunleye?...They have a tremendous matchup against the putrid Cards OLine... but will he play enough to warrant good stats?...

Nope...plenty of speculation that they'll sit him this week with Anderson playing well and the bye week coming. Unfortunately, we're unlikely to hear anything today.

FWIW, I've benched him in my leagues.

I think I'll have to do the same and go with Grant / JSmith / Kerney at DL... (I know, no ones cares about my league)... just stating that I'll need to go with the 3 guys playing today instead of Ogunleye monday night againgst a very week OLine...

I'm very interested in hearing an update or some insiders information. And how will this affect Mark Anderson's playing time. I'd imagine O-Gun is gonna have to be 100% before he gets back in there. Plus, Anderson will still have to see some snaps.

Most of Anderson's snaps had come in rotation with Alex Brown in the past. He'll probably get a few more snaps at LDE if Ogunleye isn't fully healthy, but not many.

Any word on his status for this week?...

He's listed as questionable - once again... if he's good to go - he has a favorable matchup against the 49ers OLine...

This is clipped from a post in the Bears forum:
Defensive end Adewale Ogunleye took part in every practice this week, and the outlook for his first start since he suffered a pulled hamstring Oct. 1 remains good. However, Ogunleye remains questionable for Sunday's game."It definitely will be game time," Smith said Friday about a decision. "We have an idea what we're going to do, but we'll let it go right up until then."Ogunleye participated full speed in every practice."Thursday, he was better (than Wednesday)," Smith said. "Friday was his best day."
Practiced all week, improved all week, and still a game-time decision. Maddening, isn't it? :wall:
