Since when do you get to choose your own nickname? I checked the ESPN broadcast standards; his four acceptable nicknames are:

1. AP

2. A-Pete

3. Boo-Yah!

4. Adrian "Be Home By" Peterson

So which one do you like best?

Well, the NFL currently has a Cadillac that cannot get off the line, a tank that is armed to the teeth, and a Pac-Mule. The next choice is down to a Yugo or a Neon.

:lmao: still waiting for something better than AD
It's "AP."Again, citing ESPN:

Chap. 13, Sec. 5, Paragraph 5 § 14.100

Insofar as PLAYER may be referred to by ON-AIR PERSONALITY in shortened form, said form is restricted to a form to include at least one of, but exceed not two of, the following forms: (A) The first initial of PLAYER's first name and last name, spoken in succession with heightened vocal pattern; (B) The first initial of PLAYER's first name and the first syllable of PLAYER's last name, spoken in succession with heightened vocal pattern; © The phrase "Boo-Yah" spoken as cited in U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Issuance of Trademark Number 3171084, held by ON-AIR PERSONALITY SCOTT; (D) The first name of PLAYER, followed by the phrase "Be Home By," followed by the last name of the PLAYER. The conditions described in PARAGRAPH 5 are applicable only insofar as the last name of PLAYER is the surname of PLAYER; if PLAYER first name and surname are one and the same (Reference: YAO, MING) then the conditions of PARAGRAPH 5 will be so established as to be interpreted in reverse.

Boo-yah, fellas.

Glassman taken?
That should be Mr. Glass! Elijah Price (Samual Jackson) from Unbreakable! He has Type I osteogenesis imperfecta that is a rare disease in which the bones lack collagen of sufficient quality and/or quantity, and break very easily. Thus, Mr. Glass is appropriate.

how 'bout 'Bust'?

potato-chip Peterson?

Fragile Adrian

Chuck Shoulder

damaged goods

Wounded Knee Peterson

can he play a single NFL down, before we call him the next barry sanders. please.

So they're saying.

I vote "Peterson" vs yet another idiotic nickname. It's not like it's a really long or hard-to-pronounce name.

Yeah, this is a silly poll. What is so hard to understand about his nickname? It's AD. If you don't want to call him that then don't, but that's what it is.

Nothing hard about it, just bored FF'ers in the offseason. Hey Mr. Peterson, what if we call him Mr. Peterson? :missing:

A.D. = All Day ............ this is simple. he has only had this nickname all of his life.
This is wrong on two levels:1. You don't get to choose your own nickname.2. "AD" does not conform to ESPN nickname standards.I guess if someone else made up that name for him, they could call him that on Fox Sports, but it won't be making Sportscenter.

We're talking about the same adrian peterson here right? the backup Bears RB?
No, we're talking about the Vikings' rookie, but we should discuss the Bears' RB, too. Since he'll be taking Benson's job (when he sprains his ######) and playing entire games/days as the starter, I think we should call him "All Day," or AD for short. Thoughts?

And that's another thing, he did not pick that nickname! His father gave it to him when he was younger. It's "All-Day".

That's a good thing. ESPN only uses lame-### nicknames like the ones in this poll.

Note to poster: Nelson Peterson != Adrian Peterson

Neon is already taken by Mr. Deion Sanders. Yugo it is.

Fred Ex did... Actually, I think Champ and Boss Bailey both did, as well.
The Fred Ex thing was more of a joke, as was most of his statements. As for Champ, and Boss, that's probably why I can't even think of their nicknames. Unless you are referring to "Champ", and "Boss." If so, then that is totally different.

 how about, Adrian "Canton" Peterson?

we now return you to your regularly scheduled program...

In life no one knows you better then your parents.... In football no one knows you better then your coach...In this video from http://www.adrian-peterson.com/ both his dad and Childress call him A.D.

Childress is at the 1 min 10 sec mark and his dad explains the whole story at the 3 min 08 sec mark.

Altho I am not surprised that ESPN screwed up again (poker, eating contests,) they are an east coast and west coast bias network that only cater to the mass population (good business decision, bad sports decision).. yeah I live in Oklahoma...... sorry don't post much and rant is over

I think Champ and Boss were their given names. Is this wrong?
