Adrian Peterson admitted Tuesday night that it "would be nice" to play for the Cowboys.

"I've got family here, my dad's here," Peterson said to a Dallas TV station. "But I'm under contract, so we'll see." Peterson has requested multiple times that the Vikings trade him, but seems to acknowledge he's not going anywhere after Minnesota GM Rick Spielman has continued to say he wants A.P. back with the team. Playing for Dallas is just a dream at the moment for Peterson, not reality

Viking message board at KFAN.com has "rumors" of the Bucs offering a) a 2nd, 3rd and CB Banks or B) a 2nd and CB Verner for AP. I haven't found anything to indicate that those offers are real. But I also haven't looked very hard. I think AP gets traded. Just a guess.

Normally I would agree but Peterson has pushed so hard to leave that I can't see it working here anymore. Kevin Love barely pushed this hard to leave.

IF Tampa offers that, they have rocks in the management role. He is not worth that. Damn a younger Marshall Faulk went for 2nd and 5th and Id ont think was as highly paid in comparison.

Even if he never had the legal issues, he's going to wear out in the not-too-distant future just like Emmitt, LT, Faulk and all the other great HOF RB's before him. If he went to the Boys, I'd just about guarantee a 2000 yard season based on his year of rest, their offensive line, and the Cowboys offensive philosophy of "NEVER EVER EVER ABANDON THE RUN". However, I agree with you ... he is going to hit the wall at some point soon.

I do as well, in fact I tend to think he's going to get traded Friday. I feel the same way about this as I did months ago, he'll never play for the Vikings again. If he's not dealt by this weekend I think this just gets uglier but I fully expect he'll be dealt way before camps open.

If by "Smoke screen" you mean the latest comments that they are not interested in trading AP... then I could see that they haven't received any worthwhile trade offers so have decided to go "all in".. If someone really wants AP then give us an offer we can't refuse, otherwise we are happy to keep him.

Good thought.. As I posted before some believe that if AP is still with the team on Saturday morning he will be playing with the Vikings in 2015..

The reason being "Saturday Morning" is that if they can't wheel and deal for a 1st round.. They'd look for a high 2nd round and a player..

That's a good call. I can see that happening...

Wouldn't Ajayi and maybe Abdullah or another RB that fits need to come off the board for that to kick in? Peterson is Peterson, but price-wise and cap wise, if I were, say, the Falcons, I'd rather draft Ajayi with a 2 than give it to Minny for the rights to Peterson.

Dogra has his own problems. He was fired for cause by Creative Artists Agency in November, and the NFL Players Association wants him to appear Monday and answer for a variety of allegations, including a public confrontation with Vikings executive Rob Brzezinski in February.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune now considers it "unanimous" that Adrian Peterson will stay with the Vikings.

Agent Ben Dogra opened the offseason insistent A.D. would never play another down for the Vikings. In a recent interview with USA Today, Dogra essentially praised the franchise and confirmed Peterson would stay put. "One of the things I appreciate with the Vikings is their resolve to say ‘we’re not trading him,'" said Dogra. "That tells me they value him not only as a football player but what he has done for the organization." Peterson's agent still hopes the Vikings either boost his client's salary or guarantee a portion of his currently non-guaranteed deal.
