After just playing in the "real" Super Bowl (1 Viewer)

Somehow, the Colts playing against Wrecks Grossman doesn't scare me. I'm pretty sure he will find a way to lose the game for the Bears. Yes, I could have posted this in one of the other 10,000 SB threads, but I didn't

Colts fans, am I the only one who feels this good about the Super Bowl? Yes the Bears have a good defense, yada yada yada, but since the Bears have "Wrecks" at QB, and the Colts aren't facing Tom Brady, I can't help but feel confident.

Jinx your favorite team a little more why don't ya?
 No seriously I don't belive in jinxes but to think that this superbowl will be a laugher is either lunacy or serious homerism (is that a word?). The Bears showed how strong they really are this past Sunday when they're playing at a high level. If that Bears team shows up again, the Colts are in trouble. I expect this to be one of the most exciting superbowls in a long time.ETA: Last week was not the real superbowl for you guys. The game against the Bears will be. They proved that they are in the same class as the top AFC teams.

I happen to thing the Bears will win, so I guess they should probably play the game before they annoint the Colts as champions.

Don't tell Chase how you feel about last week's game. Apparently the Pats are the least talented, luckiest bunch of 3-time SB winners you'll ever see. :headbang:

The Horseshoes beat the Bears 41-10 in 2004.

I hope they remember that game, and expect it to be a cakewalk.

Unfortunately Craig Krenzel was the QB and Urlacher was out. :)

JohnnyU is normally a "classy, well-reasoned" FBG. I'm surprised by this post a great deal. :)

Hopefully the normally "classy and well-reasoned" Colts take this game a lot more serious than he obviously is.

That's all well and good, but if the Bears win, this post goes down in 2007 Shark Pool infamy. Better to keep this to yourself - Not much to be gained here.Edit because apparently vocabulary isn't my strong point tonight.

While I appreciate your pathetic efforts for that ever elusive ZING!, let's not lose focus on this thread: JohnnyU's overblown, pointless boasting.

Their offense is so simple but such a pain in the neck. They pretty much just lull you to sleep with the run then try to hit Berrian deep. Their O-line is somewhat underrated as they're able to run regardless of the opposing D knowing it's coming so often. It will tire out the D, it's gotta be respected even if it's Rex under Center. You're mistaken if you think Peyton is going to be comfy. Urlacher is the biggest pain in the neck in football.(compliment) He's extra smart and clearly thinking out there. I would be worried about Peyton changing up his plays too much and over thinking things. He's not going to outsmart Urlacher, they've got to bring it to him and "punch him in the mouth". When you're done ya gotta go after Briggs too. He's a good player too. Those DBs they have aren't the best. They're darn good at baiting a QB and at going after the ball though. Peyton threw a couple ducks against the Pats, they'll get those, they won't bat em' down. Due to Rex's play at times this year, the D has been on the field without rest fairly often. I don't think the Colts can tire the Bears D out like they did the Pats.

I think the Colts can win if they just bring it. If OC Moore and Peyton get cute they'll regret it. The Colts DL better rotate often to be leery of the Bears sleepy long drives. It's very win-able for the Colts IMO but they gotta be rrrrrrrrrrrrrreal careful.

What was the Bears record against AFC opponents and what was the Colts record against NFC opponents?

I'm too lazy to look it up.

Johnny, did you make a deal with the devil or something? You win HyperActive AND the Colts are going to win the SB? :towelwave:

The Bears have been the best team in the NFL all season. While Grossman had a few horrible horrible games, he also had a few that were quite good. I'm loving the Bears +7 here.

By the fashion in which they won that game. The defense rattled the top ranked offense in the NFL and the offense made enough big plays. The running game looked solid and the special teams was good as usual. That defense alone puts the Bears in the same class as the AFC teams and the offense playing mistake free ball is just an added bonus.

Let's just call it my dying wish the day before I go under the knife for hip replacement on Feb 5th. It was previously scheduled for 1/26, but got postponed.
