The Giants have him by the balls. Now that Miami signed Bush, who else is showing interest in Bradshaw? He has no leverage, and I think the Giants are lowballing him. I think they sign him, but not at the price he was expecting. What is going on in NY? They not going to sign him? Doesn't make sense....Any thought?
He had to go to jail after his rookie year because of something that happened in college. That's why he was drafted so late.As a Giants fan I hope they sign him soon I read a report that mentioned that the Giants are a bit concerned with his character issues but there were never any detail about what the character issues really are. It was very vague and didn’t give any details.
True, but IIRC, it was kind of lame (i.e. the Burress sentencing) and they never had any issues since...Just found a link to it...underage drinking and a petty larceny (five years old now).http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/giants/2009-02-17-bradshaw-jail_N.htmHe had to go to jail after his rookie year because of something that happened in college. The jailtime was for parole violation. The parole was for stealing a video game from a college dorm room.Yeah, I knew it was minor, just didn't remember what he did.True, but IIRC, it was kind of lame (i.e. the Burress sentencing) and they never had any issues since...Just found a link to it...underage drinking and a petty larceny (five years old now).http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/giants/2009-02-17-bradshaw-jail_N.htmHe had to go to jail after his rookie year because of something that happened in college. Carter?I wish the Colts would sign him. Unless it has something to do with Peyton's contract, I have no idea why the Colts weren't in the bidding for Reggie Bush or why they aren't pursuing a running back in free agency?
Between the Manning contract and drafting Carter I never thought they would get serious about Bradshaw. He'd do well there it just isn't doable. You have to give the Colts credit, they spend their money wisely.I wish the Colts would sign him. I was aware of the stuff coming out of college but its the reference in this article that I was wondering aboutHe had to go to jail after his rookie year because of something that happened in college. That's why he was drafted so late.As a Giants fan I hope they sign him soon

Another aspect to keep in mind when it comes to the Giants decision on Bradshaw is the character issue. Much as it was said the team took a chance on him in the 07 draft, the truth was it wasnt much of a gamble. If he stepped out of line, all they would have lost would have been a seventh-round pick and a small signing bonus. Now, theyll be forced to make a real commitment and, trust me, the character concerns havent gone away simply because Bradshaw has stayed out of legal trouble the past four years.
Or maybe they like D. Brown a lot more than the pundits. No Addai yet and Hart gone, so it is interesting in IND. I find it hard to believe that they will trust Manning to the blocking of a fourth round rookie who hasn't been to any OTAs all summer.'bigmiiiiike said:Carter?'Oscar said:I wish the Colts would sign him. That's what I'm hearing. Reese said they have sent offers and are waiting for the response from the players.Per CBS twitter an hour ago the Giants have made Bradshaw, Smith and Boss offers.
Camp started already. Odd that there has been no news regarding Bradshaw. It's all a play by his agent Rosenhaus. He needs to sign though and get in camp.Anyone hear anything else?
yes camp started, but if I understand the new rules correctly, as a signed FA he couldn't join them until Aug 4 anyway.Camp started already. Odd that there has been no news regarding Bradshaw. It's all a play by his agent Rosenhaus. He needs to sign though and get in camp.Anyone hear anything else?
Bengals don't have their starter yet, but I'm assuming they will re-sign Benson on the cheap instead. Redskins are always in play for any FA and aren't all that established at RB with Torain/Helu. I doubt we'll see it since Shanny isn't generally the type to pay top dollar for RBs, preferring to use system guys he finds on the cheap. Giants still look like the place for Bradshaw.Who else could he actually sign with? It seems most teams that potentially were in the market for a RB have signed one, including Denver and Indi. Tampa has the $, could they be ponying up?
This shows up on Rotoworld 10 minutes after my post above:Ahmad Bradshaw - RB - GiantsThe Redskins "could be making a run" at free agent Ahmad Bradshaw, according to ProFootballTalk.com.This one comes out of left field. Bradshaw's market was late to develop, but now both the 'Skins and Bengals are being mentioned as possible suitors. He'd be a huge upgrade on Ryan Torain from both a skill and toughness perspective. If the Giants want to keep Bradshaw as part of their thunder and lightning backfield with Brandon Jacobs, they are going to have a fight on their hands.Related: Bengals, Redskins, Ryan Torain, Roy HeluSource: ProFootballTalk on TwitterJul 31, 10:48 AMBengals don't have their starter yet, but I'm assuming they will re-sign Benson on the cheap instead. I think as long as you re-sign with your previous team, you can start practice immediately. The only people who have to wait until August 4 are non-rookie FA who sign with a new team.Anyone else know the specifics regarding when he could start camp since he is a FA? If so, that makes sense that he is taking his time.
Nope, everyone has to wait till August 4th. Brandon Jacobs has to sit out till the 4th just because he restructured his contract.I think as long as you re-sign with your previous team, you can start practice immediately. RFA that would require a 1st and a 3rd to sign him away.Isn't Michael Bush a Free Agent? If he is I wish they would go after him.
I believe he's an RFA, has only 4 yrs in, 1st and 3rd round tender on him, no way Giants make an offer.Isn't Michael Bush a Free Agent? If he is I wish they would go after him.
Nah, the only other team in consideration for his services (Mia) pulled out pretty early and his agent is probably running around trying to drum something up. Bradshaw basically can't lose any more leverage here as there really aren't comparable backs on the market the Giants could sign (maybe Jerome Harrison but he obviously hasn't produced at Bradshaw's level for a full season) so there is no rush right now for Ahmad and maybe someone blows out an ACL at practice tomorrow and a team needs a back.Benson goes back to cincinnati with a one year deal and Tim Hightower gets traded to Washington....If he's not back with NY in the next 24-48 we're missing something.
25.4 so he is in his prime for the next 3-4 yars. I'm a little shocked that a guy in his prime coming off a career year who fought his way from being a 7th round pick to being the starter in New York, little shocked. Why don't the Jets step up and get this guy?How old is Bradshaw ?
I would love for Tampa Bay to get this guy. Getting Bradshaw makes them better and makes a potential playoff opponent in the NYG that much worse. Bradshaw and Blount would make a very lethal combination behind Josh Freeman.
In part because the last 7th rd draft pick to have a career year in a NYG uniform hit the market, got a nice deal and was cut going into his second season. Also because virtually everyone has noticed that 4-5 late round picks end up as top-looking RBs every year and trying to find one of those is a hell of a lot cheaper than signing Bradshaw to a 4 year 30 mil deal with 18-20 mil in guarantees.25.4 so he is in his prime for the next 3-4 yars. And it's this that makes me think there's just more to it. He also seems like a PERFECT fit for how they run offense, it just seems odd.25.4 so he is in his prime for the next 3-4 yars. I think Tampa might be leery after getting burned with Derrick WardI would love for Tampa Bay to get this guy. Getting Bradshaw makes them better and makes a potential playoff opponent in the NYG that much worse. Bradshaw and Blount would make a very lethal combination behind Josh Freeman.![]()
Yeah, there's 0% of it happening (though not because of Ward).
