Air Bnb Question (1 Viewer)

Currently staying in Florida at a condo right on the water. Last night fhere was a big thunderstorm, and we opted to close the hurricane shutters, mostly to see how they worked. The big selling point is the view of the water. After the unit was basically blocked off from the outside universe, we tried to raise the shutters but they are stuck and apparently came off the track. We contacted the owner (nowhere near here) and he said he would try to track someone down to come look at it. Besides the obvious lack of the view, we are concerned we are going to get stuck with the bill. Is this something that we should be concerned about? The owner didn’t indicate one way or the other about who is going to be responsible for the bill. Any idea how Air bnb would handle this?

You should be fine. You didn't do anything wrong and sounds like general wear and tear of the unit (spoken from someone who used to run Airbnbs). If you asked and complained, I'd actually grant you a partial refund for not having a view. Only an unscrupulous owner would tax you for that.

I don't know if you get billed for it, but why on earth would you do that?
I mean, I doubt you get billed for it, but definitely make sure you tell the management company you really thought the weather was getting dangerous or something.

I am being kind by say “we” did this. But I won’t cast aspersions or point any fingers.

Take full advantage of your dots!
