I noticed this guy played every defensive snap last week for the Pats, he filling in or is this a long term change? Pats corners usually seems to get a decent amount of tackles, so it is of interests for me in my IDP leagues because corners and safeties are separate.

TIA to anyone with info on this situation.

Edited to add, he is also a rookie, and this could mean additional attention from other teams.

I'd be interested to hear from NE homers on this as well. I heard McCourty was moved to safety last week and suprisingly his tackle numbers went down. Is that something unique to the Patriots defense or a one week anomoly?

basically, what happened was we start out with mccourty/arrington at cb, with gregory/chung at safety.

gregory out >> tavon wilson in

during the sea game arrington is benched for dennard

chung out >> mccourty to fs

dennard and arrington at cb vs stl

arrington out >> sterling moore in

ras ir dowling to ir

sterling moore cut

you'd have to wait 'til after the bye and see who's still out and who's healthy

With all the unknowns about injuries and other players on the roster, keep in mind that Dennard is a very good CB. Being from Nebraska, I keep track of hometown players a little more than others. Dennard was projected as high as the first round. Due to a bone headed arrest the week before the draft Dennard dropped to the 7th round. Of course there has been no trouble from him since joining the Patriots.

Without that arrest, Dennard would probably have started week 1 for some other team. So, to think that he has wrestled the starting job away from lackluster Patriots CB this year, is no stretch.
