Three times in the last week, my phone has restarted itself as I used a map app. First it was google maps. Thought maybe it was the app. Downloaded waze and happened again this morning.

Is it a app issue or a phone issue. Still have a few months left on my year so if its phone, ill go see what I can do

I would guess it's the effort to run the program and connect to GPS and a very hot CPU restarting the phone in a desperate attempt to not overheat.

Some of the advertised latest and greatest mobile CPUs get too hot too quick.

That odd speaker cleaner vibration app...I've seen dust bunnies and even a roach come out of an overheating phone. Definitely worth a try, free and there's so many speaker cleaner apps. All in all if your phone is clean they do nothing but amuse, still worth a shot though

This could get interesting.

Once again greed will suppress innovation. Google had NFC first but Apple wanted no part of it 3-4 years ago. The only way for something like this to have worked was for them both to be on board.

Yeah, as HellToupee mentioned, it'll come down security.

That 2-3% buys the consumer a little more security. Retailers hate paying the middle man, but that middle man provides protection to the consumer. CurrentC might amount to giving all your info to the retailers themselves.

It seems an all-out war between 3 giants (Apple, Google, Walmart) might just kill the whole mobile payment concept in general. Consumers already have a pretty good set-up as it is. They pay with convenient little plastic cards accepted everywhere that take 1 second to swipe, and the retailer foots the bill.

As awesome as mobile payment sounds, I assume 99% of customers have never found themselves frustrated that it takes too long to spend money with credit/debit cards.

I don't see anything that's not ubiquitous taking off.

If the appointments are marked in your google calender as appointments, yes, it will tell you that

eta: I think w Lollipop, the mandate is to make Now "everything" ,.. as in, w every update, it will get better and better and more intuitive

I love "OK Google" for Navigation. Works so much better than the system in my wife's Acura. As in, Google Now works almost perfectly and the Acura system barely works at all.

So frustrating that car manufacturers are so horrible at software.

it is the google app. Open the app, then say ok google and ask it something. If you have the google app, you have ok google

Paypal signed with a bunch of companies for their fingerprint system. A short while back they signed the big dog "Walmart" to an agreement.

Apple and Google are trying to catch up before it hits all the stores and changes everything.

I think the Walmart article had it 2 years away before it was in all stores

tried it out, found only the texting part to be useful for my needs. So, switched to mightytext instead.

For pics, files etc i was just using drive or plain ol email. And for links i just text them...in mightytext

I do have a recent new problem. Every once in a while my phone says my sim card is not mounted it needs to restart.

I get the same issue on my S3 every week or so every since I rooted it, even with different roms. Tried a lot to fix it but ended up just learning to live with it.

I would absolutely make the switch if it was time for an upgrade. I have zero complaints with my Maxx as of yet, so no reason to upgrade other than wanting the new shiny.
