Happy Herd Day - over the night, you must throw back:One from column A:Tequilla, Jaeger OR mixed girlie shot <---- ONLY ONE!!! Very important - esp. with Tequilla as Tequilla is a gun toting Mexican shooting up the stomach and not getting along with anyone. These are sugar based shots that are guaranteed to give you a nasty hangover if you overdo itTwo from column B:Jack Daniels, Crown Royal, or any other whiskey, UNLESS you are drinking them on rocks anyway, then you should shoot them freelyAND/ORCar Bomb, rum based shot, vodka based shot, anything on fire - for you, I recommend the Flaming Homer, don't forget the cough syrup. And make sure to drink one water per beer - if you drink no beer, just drink plenty of water - the extra trips to the pisser help cut down on the time at the barm, and they get the juices flowing. Also allows you to scope the bar for ladies to shout at: "Hey, it's my birthday!"Invest in Chasers - it's worth it.Finally, if the stripper refuses to spank you as many times as your years for fear of carpal tunnel, pay the extra money and throw in a lap dance.Alright. Its my birthday so I'm going to get drunk. I'm predrafted for my next 2 picks, in case its needed.See you guys tomorrow.:MarshallFaulk?:HERD
14-team leagues is about as large as I choose to get before drafting becomes REALLY tough. When guys like Brandon Stokely and Reche Caldwell are conisidered viable WR2 options, and guys like Tiki Barber are desirable RB1, the league is too big for me.This is my first 14 person league. Just FYI. I've only played in 10 and 12 persn leagues before.
A few peeps have mentioned this so I will explain my reasoning for McCalister before Ahman.Let me first say I do like Ahman, and could have gone either way with this pick, but here are a few of the reasons I went with Mccalister.[1] Age... Its a redraft, but still.. Backs are like chicks - the younger the better, as long as they're legal. [2] Although Ahman gets the bulk of the work, I believe he will get a little less this year with quality backups whereas the Saints have no choice but to give Deuce all the work as they have nobody else. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Ahman will have a huge decrease, but a small one may put McCalister on top of him.[3] I think the Saints offense will be money this year.[4] Deuce had all the yardage last year, but not many TDs... I see them coming this year. Anyways, like I said.. I couldn't fault someone for taking Green in this spot. Its splitting hairs.Nothing too contraversial, the only thing off my board is Duece going before Green and Edge before RWs.
No worries from me, dude - I actually have Deuce neck and neck with Priest and Ahman behind them. I love Deuce and would be pumped as heck to start my draft with him.Can somoene periodically forward the picks to the list since so many folks are now on autopilot - critiquing other poeple's drafts is a fun thing for me.A few peeps have mentioned this so I will explain my reasoning for McCalister before Ahman.Let me first say I do like Ahman, and could have gone either way with this pick, but here are a few of the reasons I went with Mccalister.[1] Age... Or let me know how I can peek in.Tx = cool looking site, BTW - I've never really looked at XPert league before.
SHHHHHHH!P.S. - I predict the 2.8 selection will be a quarterback.

I've never owned SA, but would love to have him. He is so consistent year in and year out. I have high hopes for him this year and would probably rank him 5th behind LT2, Holmes, Green, and McAllister.SA was consistent as anything last year, has always had a nose for the goal line and the Seahawks offense looks like it will have all the major players back so I don't see much decline in his numbers and could conceivably even see an increase over last year.
I noticed that when I read the thread after I got home from work. I especially liked the one and a half pages of #####ing about people not immediately making their first round picks or predrafting when all of us signed up for a six hour per pick draft.Oh, and for you guys questioning my Edge pick, he will be in the top 3 this year. You guys were fools for taking McAllister, Green, Portis, Alexander and Lewis before him.JAA still OTC? wow, and I got booted after 1 hour, lol.
Did something happen in those 6 hours to change your first first 14 picks? What kind of a shark doesnt have his first round charted out? Or cant figure out a simple process like preselect. This reminds me why i hate mock drafting. Guess what, if everyone takes their 6 hours we get a tidy little 700 hour draft. I dont really care about the later rounds, but if you cant figure out your first round things dont look good for the rest of the way.I noticed that when I read the thread after I got home from work. Metaphysical certainty eh? I've got Terrell Davis coming out of retirement to dual Barry Sanders for the rushing title, but dont worry Edge still sneaks in at #3.Oh, and for you guys questioning my Edge pick, he will be in the top 3 this year.
That was me, I thought I had pre-drafted....guess I didn't do it right.Or cant figure out a simple process like preselect.
Which is understandable. That was me, I thought I had pre-drafted....guess I didn't do it right.
Nope. But unlike you apparently, I can't afford to sit in front of the computer every minute of the day.Did something happen in those 6 hours to change your first first 14 picks?
Didn't say that I didn't.What kind of a shark doesnt have his first round charted out?
If you paid any attention you'd know that I did predraft for the first round.Or cant figure out a simple process like preselect.
What, that some people don't feel like adhering to your ideas regarding changing the rules? This reminds me why i hate mock drafting.
Everyone hasn't taken six hours for their picks, so don't worry about it.Guess what, if everyone takes their 6 hours we get a tidy little 700 hour draft.
Does this mean you're one of those guys who abandons a draft after he's had his fill?I dont really care about the later rounds, but if you cant figure out your first round things dont look good for the rest of the way.
Do you even know what that means?Metaphysical certainty eh?
Well then, you're a bigger fool than me.I've got Terrell Davis coming out of retirement to dual Barry Sanders for the rushing title
So if you had the 3rd pick and couldn't trade, you would have taken Edge?Oh, and for you guys questioning my Edge pick, he will be in the top 3 this year. You guys were fools for taking McAllister, Green, Portis, Alexander and Lewis before him.
Since the draft is going to suspend in a little while anyway you should just give him his clock time. That will effectively be in the morning and if his clock expires then we should replace him at that point.Hopefully everyone will figure out how the predrafting works. That is the key to keeping a draft humming along.JAA is still MIA. Should I pick for him? Find a replacement?
That's not a summary, it's a response.I dont want to monopolize this thread. So let me summarize.
No, thats what preselect is for.
Good for you.
So what are you whining about?
When its your draft you adjust the rules the way you want.
No, but why shouldnt they?
I dont.
Sure, and when some fool makes a declarative statement about something by its nature highly subject to chance, its a great term to use. Especially when you suspect they wont understand it. Im all about expanding peoples vocabularies.
That remains to be seen.
And before you worry about other people's vocabularies, you better do a little work on your grammar.Especially when you suspect they wont understand it. Im all about expanding peoples vocabularies.
You got me there. As for the rest, I'm sure an old flamer like you knows it when he sees it.Actually that's punctuation friend. Ah, the spelling/grammer/punctuation flame, last refuge of the terminally outwitted. Enjoy yourself.
While that is true, I believe he was referring to his week in, week out consistency last year - he had either over 100 combined yards, or a TD, or both every game except one - that means you could pencil in anywhere from 12-18 points from SA every single week. This defeated the perception that he is streaky and shoudl make him a solid top half of the first round selection again for next year. His weekly average wasa true average, unlike some other backs whose weekly average was skewed by big games versus off games.I've never owned SA, but would love to have him. He is so consistent year in and year out. I have high hopes for him this year and would probably rank him 5th behind LT2, Holmes, Green, and McAllister.
As of now, my redraft rankings for RBs in a high performance league are:TomlinsonHolmesJamesMcAllisterAlexanderGreenPortisWilliamsTaylorLewisSo yes, if I was in the third spot and couldn't make a move I'd go with Edge.So if you had the 3rd pick and couldn't trade, you would have taken Edge?
Can't totally argue against this philosophy - Edge was #7 in pts/game, and he was the #6 back over the last 8 weeks, with the #7 pts/game average - the problem with that logic is that under the same criteria, Marshal Faulk was the 4th or 5th best RB in the league. Also, there is the consideration I mentioned earlier that Edge is heading into a contract year and he tends to play for the green, which shold give him a bump. All that said, categorical statements are dangerous. It is risky to state that Edge will be the #3 back next year AND that the other selections were bunk when any of those back selected ahead of Edge could easily leapfrog any other to be the ones in the #1 and #2 spots. In truth, the first round backs are ranked by probabilities more than projections b/c while it is unlikely LT and Priest finish 1-2 again in the final rankings, they have the greatest probability of any backs out there to return to the top-5. And the picks seem in correct order for probability of return or entry into top-5 status. For example - had Portis stayed in Denver, I am fairly sure he'd be a consensus #3 or #4 pick instead of behind Green amd Deuce on most charts. His drop is related to the quiestionmarks of whether he can average 30 pts a game down the stretch (until he got hurt) in Wash like he did in Denver. As of now, my redraft rankings for RBs in a high performance league are:TomlinsonHolmesJamesMcAllisterAlexanderGreenPortisWilliamsTaylorLewisSo yes, if I was in the third spot and couldn't make a move I'd go with Edge.
