Major hit. ADP? Savy leagues round 4 stl.Everything else in between. Guppy leagues round 8 and beyond.Arian Foster.
Chaz Schillens, Has he recovered yet?Green Bay was genius for letting him walk. Javon Walker.Matt Schaub. TY!Oh and how can I forget... Jerry Porter. There's a name I haven't heard in awhile.
Injury?Patrick Jeffers![]()
Lundy or David Boston would be my first pick. I actually traded MJD plus a pick in a dynasty for Wali Lundy. Still the worst trade I have ever made and it's not even close. Vick and Reggie Bush were crazy hyped when they first arrived of course. Criner will be the guy this year I bet.James DavisWali Lundy
Yup. Him and Javon Walker have to be the starting wideouts.12 posts before this? this place is slipping...'DoubleG said:David Boston?![]()
Good list. I fell victim to Barlow and Henry, although I believe Henry had a nice stretch for DEN and that got hurt, right? The Quentin Griffin one makes me laugh (ah, the memories). I've been in a keeper league (now dynasty) with a group of guys for a long while now... and after that big week by "Q" one owner sold the farm to land him. He gave up players, picks, just about anything he could to land Q. The acquiring owner kept calling Q the next Barry Sanders. -This trade caused an uproar in the league, as most thought he vastly overpaid... and a few weeks later such was confirmed. -To this day, if someone brings up the "Q" trade, we all get a good chuckle about what may have been the worst trade any of us have ever seen in FF (and the ensuing drama it caused).-Long list of Texans RB's (Stacey Mack, Lundy, Morency, Moats, etc.) and JAX WR's (Reggie Williams, Matt Jones, Ernest Wilford.)-Kevan Barlow sunk a lot of my redraft teams that year.-I can remember some initial dynasty drafts where people took Reggie Bush early in the 1st round (but that hype was everywhere.)-Travis Henry to Denver. I bought into that one heavily.-Quentin Griffin after that week 1 game. Yowsa, he was a hot commodity.Should have paid more attention in the pool to Foster (was a believer in Tate) and Antonio Gates. Was really happy I saw those Anquan Boldin & Colston pre-season threads their rookie years.
But he did father, what, nine children...Henry led the league in rushing for a few weeks and then failed a drug test and fought it for a month or two in the courts. It got dragged out forever and you never knew if this was the week he was finally going to be suspended. Then when he came back I can't remember if he got injured or what but was terrible the rest of the season. Then he failed another drug test for a year suspension, Denver cut him after 1 season and he never played again.

I remember the hype on him. Didn't buy it. I also didn't buy the Arian Foster hype.DJ Hackett
Kareem Huggins
thanks for making my point, matter of fact in 2009 he wasn't even close to ADP, and wasn't even first in PPG on his own team:59th overall in PPR scoring in 2009, ADP was 3rd rounder after a 10TD rookie season in 2008"Never" is an awfully funny thing. Tell anyone who owned Stewart in 2009 that he's "never" out-produced his ADP.Longest lasting hype is J Stewart ... he still listed as top 30ish overall and probably longest lasting top 50 who has never outproduced his ADP
LOL what are you talking about? he was 12th in .5 ppr in 2009 ... which outproduced where his ADP was. I dont even understand where you got the 59th number, maybe your thinking of 2010... that was a crappy yearalso, in 2011 he was 22nd in .5 ppr 20th in ppr. I dont think he was ADPed at higher than top 20 was he? I was ok what what he did last year.thanks for making my point, matter of fact in 2009 he wasn't even close to ADP, and wasn't even first in PPG on his own team:59th overall in PPR scoring in 2009, ADP was 3rd rounder after a 10TD rookie season in 2008"Never" is an awfully funny thing. Yeah you win some you lose some. Kareem Huggins busted up his knee REALLY bad, stopped that hype train....and his career dead in its tracks. Some of the best ones have already been mentioned but they have been pretty special and would have won many a player their leagues, choices like Willie Parker and Arian Foster are huge. When I guy goes from undrafted to a top 5 fantasy RB, that's why FBG's is the best. Kam Chancellor was one of the best IDP calls, Demeco Ryans was another who got a lot of buzz around here before hitting it big.A few that stunk up the joint:Johnnie Lee HigginsTaylor PriceTyrell Sutton (still hanging on for grim death on one or two of my rosters)Malcolm KellyDevin ThomasDan LeFevourChad Spann (as per Sutton)Kerry MeierKevin OgletreeFor IDP'ersNedu NdukweJordon DizonAkeem JordanNFL Career:- 4 carries- 11 yardsFantasy Guys thread:- Sixteen pages long- 761 repliesMy link

it wasnt that. he had good pass blocking skills and little competition ahead of him. it looked like he was very likely to win the starting job at the timeJames Davis...and all because of one 80-yard run in preseason that inflated his yards-per-carry.
MFL lists his ADP as 80th overall, 31st among RBs. His season-ending VBD was 39th overall, 11th among RBs. Oh yeah, and he was a top-3 fantasy back during the fantasy playoffs for good measure. Plenty of championships were won on the back of Stewart that season. Also, last year he was drafted as the 33rd RB off the board, and he finished as the 25th. For what it's worth.thanks for making my point, matter of fact in 2009 he wasn't even close to ADP, and wasn't even first in PPG on his own team:59th overall in PPR scoring in 2009, ADP was 3rd rounder after a 10TD rookie season in 2008"Never" is an awfully funny thing. Good call on these. Colston was firmly on my radar because of FBG, I remember picking him up off waivers after my rookie draft.....he was still listed as a TE.Adrian Peterson is another one, I remember doing a start up in his rookie season and picking him near the end of the 2nd round. The other owners thought I was crazy.'LawFitz said:Steve Smiff just prior to his #1 WR season.
Colston during his rookie preseason.
Arian Foster prior to sophomore blow up season.
Gronkowski/Hernandez last year.
Victor Cruz
CJ2k, ADP, Rice, Portis, all hyped here prior to exploding.
So many other hits in the Pool as well. This is a great place for discovering gems even though you have to sort through the many misses.
And Peyton HillisCan thank Cecil for that and Jeremiah johnsonJulius Thomas....
Starks is the one player on this list i am genuinely looking forward to the player spotlight on for this year. If he comes in inshape and healthy and no ryan Grant.........choo choo!!!!!edit to say the FBG staff have him @ #42 for RB in PPRJames Starks comes to mind, I agreed with that though I saw some talent there. The worst was Delone Carter. Never understood that one.
yes... I was... lol he outplayed his ADP, I have no doubt'bicycle_seat_sniffer said:bolded = no you were notLOL what are you talking about? he was 12th in .5 ppr in 2009 ... which outproduced where his ADP was. Lol this is one of the tamer threads. I remember my sig for the longest time was my hyped projections for the whizz. A constant reminder of our unavoidable fallibility.
Good Lord yes. Both ways. There were tons of people on each side of that one. It was like civil war.Even last year in Week 2, I can remember someone posting something like "Buh-bye Arian foster, it was nice knowing you." (of course that thread got a lot of replies in the following weeks).Arian Foster.
I remember the other side of Peterson, there was a lengthy thread on here with folks arguing Lynch should be drafted ahead of him in dynasty rookie drafts.Good call on these. Colston was firmly on my radar because of FBG, I remember picking him up off waivers after my rookie draft.....he was still listed as a TE.Adrian Peterson is another one, I remember doing a start up in his rookie season and picking him near the end of the 2nd round. Rice is also a good call too, after his quiet rookie season, Bloom's comparisons to Curtis Martin were still firmly in mind when I was able to scoop him up quite cheaply before the 2nd year explosion.
