*** All T.O. - All the time *** (1 Viewer)

I would be very disappointed if the Packers even gave him a thought.  They are injured, down on their luck, and looking at a bad year.  The only thing the Packers can salvage from this year is their dignity, but only if they as an organization conduct themselves with such.

I would love for Favre to come out and say he appreciates any and all kind words spoken about him in this difficult season.  I would then like him to say that his receivers are Walker, Driver, Murphy, Ferguson, and Chatman, and that he is thrilled to have such weapons, and that he is looking forward to next year when they will all be healthy.  I'd love it even more if he said that he is willing, for the good of the team, to alter his pay for next season to free up some money to get Walker a deal right now.  I'd love it if he said Walker is the game breaking receiver he dreams about throwing to and he can't wait for his return.
they might want to see how well walker heals before signing him
That would be prudent. Of course if he plays well he will likely go free agent and harbor ill feelings towards the Packers for having no confidence in him. That would make it very difficult to sign him. It is a risk but I say show him some love now, while he's down and out, and it will pay huge returns in the future.

The Patriots do not bring in guys like TO, they let them go. See: Milloy, Lawyer.
They brought in Corey Dillion and his rap sheet? Can you honestly say the Patriots would not bring T.O. in for a 1-year contract for the minimum? Anything involving a lot of money or multiple years, I am sure New England says no thanks.
Those situations are in no way comparable. Dillon came from arguably, at that time, the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. He fragged the organization on occasion, but not his teammates. TO has come from two of the better organizations in the league and has managed to blast both starting QB's from those teams (each of whom is considered a class act), and both coaches (each of whom is respected). TO is a worst case scenario who is only comparable to guys like Jeff George or Dennis Rodman . . . both of whom were out of work while they still had the skills to keep playing.

I look at Miami. If they were willing to take back Sticky-Icky Rickhy back after boning out a week before camp, I think they would take in a problem child like TO. I'm a Dolphin fan, and one thing that we are in need of is a deep threat WR. There has been talk of Chambers being that for years now, but every year we expect it to be his breakout season, and he keeps falling flat. Now that they know how to use the running game, that would open up the offense more. Down here there has been alot of talk about how we need a #1 WR. Someone like Moss, T.O. , or Steve Smith. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miami try to work something out with the Eagles franchise to sign him. I dont think it would be a long term deal though.

One of the ESPN guys put it best yesterday. No team is going to give this guy the long term deal he is looking for after what he's pulled. He will be playing for one and two year contracts the rest of his career unless he really turns his attitude around. And we all know thats not gonna happen. And to answer the question...NO. I would HATE to see TO lining up at WR for the Broncos.

The Chiefs gave Andre Rison a chance. I wouldn't be upset if they got TO for a reasonable amount of money. The Chiefs are in dire need of a talented WR. Might as well give him a shot. I've put up with Bam Morris, Dale Carter, Tamarick Vanover, etc. No reason not to add TO to that list.

Like **** Vitale said, "is everybody wrong?".
Is that just a generic Dickie V quote, or did he chime in on this? I'd be curious what he had to say (really), in a Father Flanagan sort of way. Someone can insert the "Slam Bam Jam" line here if they want. But I am making a serious inquiry.

T.O. would make the Steelers absolutely unstoppable, but it'll never happen. Pittsburgh would never take on that salary and attitude. Never.

I heard this on Mike and Mike this morning, referring to the Dickie V quote. He pretty much slammed TO in the worst possible way.

FWIW, When Tim Grunhard asked Carl Peterson the % chance that TO would be wearing a Chief uniform next year, the answer was "Zero zero zero, no chance. He's destroyed the Eagles this year, anyone taking him is destroying their team" - or words to that effect.

Wouldn't it be a barrel of laughs if no team EVER wanted TO? I know that won't happen, but it would be a side splitter. Also, I own him in 2 $$$ leagues and wouldn't care if he never played again.

I keep hearing people (fellow Eagles fans included) say that T.O. has ruined his shot at a big time contract next season and I couldn't disagree more. How many times do we have to see professional sports franchises dip their hands back in the cookie jar before we realize it's never going to change? Some team will be convinced they can control T.O. Much like Reid and the Birds thought...it'll be DIFFERENT with us.

T.O. is far too talented to not get a big deal from SOMEONE. It only take one of 32 owners/GMs/coaches to believe they are better equipped to handle him.

Which team do you see him landing with? I personaly think it's going to be a team that surprises people, Kansas City being atop my list.

I took "Other". I think Shanahan thinks he can rehabilitate/manage any bad apple and Lelie is not coming along as fast as they would like.Edit to add: I don't think anyone will give him big $$$ (at least not guaranteed). I'd guess he's going to be on some crazy incentive-laden, contract with multiple outs for the team if he wants a lot of money.

Baltimore won't take him  Atlanta would server him right. Go play with a QB who can't hit the broad side of a barn. Then let's see you complain about McNabb.

I say no way it's a big money contract. My guess is that it's lower than what he's used to but it's incentive laden and has controls for conduct. The fact of the matter is that the guy is simply not worth the on-field production. This sort of crap wears on guys, to the point that it takes away from a team's productivity. I can't wait to see how Rosenhaus tries to spin this.

It would have to be to a team with a decent QB, so that rules out MIA, BAL, HOU and who knows the QB status in GB or WAS.

Oakland (Moss and Owens...an Al Davis dream)

Kansas City (Vermeil thinks he can heal anyone)

Baltimore (Desperate for offense)

Miami (Saban thinks HE can control TO)

Green Bay (TO gets his shot to play with Favre)

Atlanta (his home town and Ron Mexico)

Washington (Danny Snyder can't resist)

Houston (Casserly has another boneheaded move in him)

Who knows - but I'm sure it will be widely discussed ad nauseam.

You guys are all naive if you think T.O. won't find any suitors.GUARANTEED he will find somebody who wants him.One post mentioned New England...and I say a 1 year deal is not that absurd...

Mort was on the DP show earlier today discussing this. He said there was one team talking in house about how TO could fit under their cap, but he wouldn't out the team. Although New England came up in his speculation, as did Miami. And before all the NE fans get all defensive, it was Mort that brought them up.

First thought is None. But I could see Denver taking a shot at him. Rod Smith isn't getting any younger. No Way does he go to The Ravens.. Talk about Locker Room brawls. :boxing:

He's going to get signed to a one year deal, nothing more. You are insane if you think someone is going to sign him longer than that. The guy's stock has plummeted.

The logical thing would be to sign him to a 1-year incentive laden deal. But there are sure to be two or three GMs who don't think this through logically.

lol Jim Mora just said knowing the Atlanta owner & his son Jim Mora Jr., no way in hell would the Falcons sign him.

He's defintely playing somewhere. Probably a one year deal with a millin out clauses for the team when he acts up again.Let's just pray that he doesn't start broadcasting!

I can't see anyone giving him any money up front. I'm convinced at this point that what we're talking about with TO is a psychological imbalance, not just a huge ego. I have to believe NFL execs are going to realize this, too.

Probably the case...however, there were a great many folks (myself included) who thought there a zero % chance the Eagles would pursue T.O. last year and in fact they did. "Talent" + "Greed" + "Desire to Win" make strange bedfellows.

It HAS to be Oakland. HAS to be.Cannot wait to see Moss and Owens compete for looks on the same team. How long before they start sniping at each other in the press?

It takes two teams to get in a bidding war. Keyshawn went to Parcells who had a history with him previously, I dont see TO going back to the 49ers. If TO was a perfect angel he would have gotten 8.5 mill in salary and bonuses next year, lets see what he gets now.

I just can't see Moss and Owens on the same team. As entertaining as it would be... The egos are just too big to be on the same field. :boxing:

 When all else fails, there's always Oakland.

I like Seattle. It just seems to me like the missing piece they need to make themselves truly explosive. Which I believe is also just how the Eagles got suckered in also.

This makes the most sense to me. There's no way anyone gives him big $$$ unless its incentive-laden. Not even Danny Snider is that stupid.Shanny seems a possibility.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that Dallas would do it. Parcells has said repeatedly that he is too old to deal with knuckleheads. They gave away Antonio Bryant because he was a knucklehead. As much as I might like Dallas to add a big-play guy to their team, it won't be TO.

Terrell Owens = MLB's Kevin Brown in the 90'sKevin Brown was a hired gun playing for 5 teams in 6 years for big money...Texas, Baltimore, Florida, San Diego, Los Angeles...Win Totals: 7, 10, 17, 16, 18, 18 ...pretty damn good...T.O. may actually end up getting more money if he stays healthy and keeps his production up...But I wouldn't be surprised to see if he will just have to keep bouncing around from team to team on 1 or 2 year deals to get that money though...

I think the New England idea has merit.
 They'd give shorter money to free agent-to-be David Givens before they threw a huge contract at TO.

And besides, that would go against absolutely everything Bill Belichick stands for. It simply won't happen.

Correct Answer is "other".

Remember, you heard it here first, it will be the DALLAS COWBOYS. Hear me out on this one:

1) Jerry Jones will do anything to win, and he'd love to stick it to a division rival in the process.

2) Parcells can handle Keyshawn, he'll handle T.O., too.

3) Michael Irvin's influence on T.O. will convince him that he'll be a god in Dallas and that he should take a small amount of $ to be treated like a god and make a bigger payday down the line.

Next time T.O. celebrates on the star, he'll have one on his helmet, too.

The obvious choice is Detroit. So he can mentor the young stud WRs. And catch passes from Joey Boy. And reunite with his favorite head coach, Mooch. It's so ridiculous I could see the Lions doing it. :loco:
