I don't have time for that. Yes. You hit the nail on the head. I have time for whatever I feel is necessary. I found posting a new thread to be necessary. I'm glad the thread police is in full force.I don't have time for that. Good job, sir.On topic: TO is done. Look at what happened to Keyshawn...even now, a shell of his former self. You're so welcome. Glad I could be of service. That's why I get paid the big bucks.I'm glad the thread police is in full force.![]()
Wow, this post is flawed on so many levels....where to begin?Let's see...Better if this was done while the team was winning? First, he was suspended while the team was 4-3, one game out of first and facing 3 straight division games. Preseason? Did you miss that week off TO earned himself? I fail to see your logic. No matter what TO has done it doesn't change 3 things
1) He hasn't committed the kind of crimes that many football players have in the past who still got to play ( Ray Lewis, Jamal Lewis, various wife beaters, various drug abusers, the entire Vikings organization, etc) While I don't agree with the way he talks about his team and QB in public, I don't know if what hes done merits getting booted the whole season based on whats been let out publically
2) The Eagles have no one to blame but themselves. They say its a move based on 'whats best for the team' Well its easy to do that when the team is losing, your QB is hurt and you need a distraction as to the other reasons why your team is losing. Its easy to can TO when you are losing, it would have been the 'admirable' thing to do when the team was winning or in the preseason.
3) Every FA or potential FA will look at the Eagles and really question it as a good place to play. Theres alot of contract grief. Not just TO, but Simon and Westbrook and the merciless axings of Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent. Lots of other teams have cap issues or money problems, however they don't get this much public backlash from their players about their contracts.
I am not a NFC East homer in any way, but this entire situation is a black mark on the Eagle franchise and Andy Reid. Reid looks like he can't control his team, Eagles management looks like its bungled another contract situation and created a PR disaster and can you imagine the guys in the lockerroom who are watching this hatchet job? I'm not saying I agree with TO or what hes doing, but the Eagles have clearly let this problem evolve into a public fiasco.
The Eagles signed this guy, knowing the baggage, and did not discipline him. I assure you TO does not pull this on a Parcells or a Belichick or a Coughlin. The Eagles got what they deserved. And yes, the Eagles didn't decom TO until it was clear McNabb was too hurt to give them a legit shot this year. Case in point, Mike Scoscia of the Angels suspended Jose Guillen for the season right before the playoffs. Guillen was a monster, he was hitting hte crap out of the ball. Now that takes guts. The Eagles didn't do it until they knew some tough divsion games were coming and they were probably going to lose those games. Can anyone here honestly say that a potential FA or FA won't look at the Eagles and question how they deal with their players, contracts and aging stars? Look at the Patriots. They gave Richard Seymour a small raise, not much cash wise, but they made a gesture. They showed their players that they were flexible and if you perform, you will earn some cred with the franchise. While many players are locked up in below market deals, the Patriots make the gesture that they want to lock up a guy for a while. You think other young players don't look at that and see that if you push hard, the Patriots will lock you up for a while. You think the resigning of Troy Brown had no impact on the lockerroom and younger players even though Brown is clearly past his prime? You have to be kidding me if you say this entire fiasco is all TO in every single way. And don't kid yourself, the Eagles players are watching this and its not going to boost morale to see the Eagles bust out a player, no matter how much of a jerk he is in real life.Yeah, TO will be a choir boy if he played for Parcels, et al. Cuz he really respected Jerry Rice as a teammate, huh. Stupid is as stupid does, and don't think TO will ever change. You're fooling yourself.Oh,and the players asked Reid to do something:And don't kid yourself, the Eagles players are watching this and its not going to boost morale to see the Eagles bust out a player, no matter how much of a jerk he is in real life.
Usually you start off as the "bad guy" and then change your name or not and end up a fan favorite. TO wouldn't stand for being the bad guy I dont think. He'd want to be in the limelight, more of a fan favorite, face of wrestling like The Rock....Professional Wrestler. That's right. Think about it, a couple of teams will show interest in the offseason, but will not come close to paying him what he thinks he's worth.
Enter Vince Mcmahon. There have been some expirimental dabbles setting a precedent (Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman) but they pale in comparison to how emotional people are about TO and how much they'd love to see him get pounded on (or pretend to be). Serious opportunity for both sides. It's not like TO cares about football beyond the paycheck.

Not a chance with Ruskell in charge. His entire offseason was spent purging the non-team players, Robinson, Simmons, Terry, etc. There is a better chance he stays in Philly next year, staying at McNabb's house, than ending up in Seattle.I say he ends up in Seattle somehow....
Well he did his best to alienate himself from the Philly fans, so I'm not convinced that he cares what people think of him as long as he gets paid.Usually you start off as the "bad guy" and then change your name or not and end up a fan favorite. What an asinine statement. They don't overpay their vets. There is a clear difference between what you assume they do and what they actually do. Do you really think they would have looked smart signing Hugh Douglas to the huge contract he completly underperformed in in Jacksonville or Trotter with the Redskins?... No but they came back and Trotter excelled while Douglas has taken a leadership role even after his career ended. Seems like the players in Philly have a lot of respect for the organization to understand their wrongs in leaving and came back and helped a great deal. TO is just an ### hole. No one can handle him and I find it very hard to believe he will even have a job next year. The Eagles brought this situation onto themselves.
They knew what TO did in SF. What he said about Garcia, what he said to Mariucci. Mooch is from the same coaching tree as Reid, its not like there were any secrets if Reid wanted to ask them. And they knew what he said about the Ravens and their front office ot get his way.
And if the Eagles were so great at 'discipline', then that week off in the preseason sure did wonders for keeping TO in check.

Keyshawn is on pace for 74 catches, 860 yds and 10 TDs. He's doing fine.On topic: TO is done. Look at what happened to Keyshawn...even now, a shell of his former self.
THIS IS SO TRUE. Look at Michael Pittman. He ran his wife and kid off of a road. TO is not a saint, but he also isnt a murderer. Punishment does NOT fit the crime! They should cut him.No matter what TO has done it doesn't change 3 things

I think it totally su cks and ruins the whole reason to come in here and start a thread. why come in and make a good post only to have to piled into another thread. Kills the whole idea of coming in here to make a point. I think i post should never be merged. If its nonsense delete it, if it makes sense let it go. I mean to have threads five pages long merged is bogus and if it keeps happening I will not be around here much longer. Some guys like to be the starter of good threads and all this merging just takes that away. I wont read a merged thread now after this. A guy makes a great thread start only to have it merged with a crappy one? BS stop the merging. Board Nazism will take the better poster away from here and all you will have is a bunch of dopes making no sense around here if it continues. You're so welcome. Glad I could be of service. That is if Mike Holmgreen and Andy Reid don't see eye-to-eye and that my friend is far from the truth.I say he ends up in Seattle somehow....
Suddenly, without explanation, the board IQ just jumped 10 points.I think it totally su cks and ruins the whole reason to come in here and start a thread. why come in and make a good post only to have to piled into another thread. After just getting rid of Koren Robinson, I don't see that even being a possibility. I dunno. Stranger things have happened.I say he ends up in Seattle somehow....
Okay. We disagree. We're not going to have 10 T.O. threads on page one so individual posters can see their name on the board as having started a new thread. Its always better to add to an existing thread instead of starting a new one. Learn it. Love it. Is that what this is really about? That's really sad. Some guys like to be the starter of good threads and all this merging just takes that away.
My vote is Denver, even though I don't want him there.Smith is on the downslope, Lelie is not performing...2006 Broncos would be an almost perfect fit. After just getting rid of Koren Robinson, I don't see that even being a possibility. I dunno. Stranger things have happened.I say he ends up in Seattle somehow....
What's really sad is that it's coming from a guy who's never even started an average thread. Shark Attack is lucky to get three replies to his own threads (two of the replies are usually derogatory and the third one is this smileyIs that what this is really about? That's really sad. Some guys like to be the starter of good threads and all this merging just takes that away.
)Correct Answer is "other".
Remember, you heard it here first, it will be the DALLAS COWBOYS. Hear me out on this one:
1) Jerry Jones will do anything to win, and he'd love to stick it to a division rival in the process.
2) Parcells can handle Keyshawn, he'll handle T.O., too.
3) Michael Irvin's influence on T.O. will convince him that he'll be a god in Dallas and that he should take a small amount of $ to be treated like a god and make a bigger payday down the line.
Next time T.O. celebrates on the star, he'll have one on his helmet, too.
You read my mind. I'm surprised no one came up with this sooner. You really think JJ gives a #### about that? For him, it's about JJ, and showing how "right" and how smart JJ is, not about protecting the honor of the Cowboys franchise or it's history. He's not that guy.I also don't think Jerry is going to forget the celebrations on the stars that quickly.
I agree with you about not having 10 TO (or whoever) threads. What I do disagree with though is blindly merging all of the threads. For example, the other day, Friday or maybe Saturday whenever the suspension news broke, there were several TO threads. I agree that some of them could have and should have been merged. But one thread was something like how long will he be out. Another was a poll about where he would play next year. So we wound up with a thread like thisOkay. We disagree. We're not going to have 10 T.O. threads on page one so individual posters can see their name on the board as having started a new thread. Its always better to add to an existing thread instead of starting a new one. Learn it. Love it. Not if he were to get released. Otherwise, I hope so.I love T.O., but enough is enough. Can we safely say next Monday T.O. will no longer be in the news?
That's probably very true. Not saying it's an excuse, but TO had a pretty difficult childhood. I would have been the first one to call him a jerk, but taking his childhood into account makes me feel kind of sorry for him. Mother had him at 17. She was in and out of jobs. In and out of his life. Found out who his father was when he was interested in a girl across the street. Her father said to stay away because she was his half-sister. Her father was his father. Raised mostly by his abusive alcoholic grandmother. Money and fame don't always fix the kinds of issues that comes from an upbringing like that. linkTO's problem is that his head is whacked .. and I think the best way to describe him is to say that he is LIKE A BOY KING!
Spoiled and immature ... with some power (performance and money) becuase of his abilities and just has no idea how to his "power".
He just thinks that he is above any criticism or scrutiny and acts with out thinking about the outcome.
He is the BEST WR playing today, an absoloute warrior that is just a football machine. I think that he gets frustrated on the field becuase he has yet to "hook up" with a QB that can keep up and get him the ball as often as he can handle it.
I don't think that this guy will get tired, or stop making plays during a game ... as long as you can get him the ball then he can make big plays for your team and he has come to develop and serious SUPERIORITY complex.
Thinking (knowing in his head) that he is the best, and thinking that, becuase of his performance on the field he is untouchable ... off the feild.
As he does things that are stupid and unneccesary like:
-- Parking in the Handicapp spaces at the practice feild
-- Criticizing his team mates, coach or orginization
-- Making stupid comments to the media
-- his scrutnized end zone celebrations
And he was wrong ... the iggles just pretty much stated that Owens is a good player but the benefit we recieve from him is far less then the trouble and money he is worth. It is not all about him scoring on the field, but how he contributes to the team as a part of it.
He has no respect for anyone or any team? He acts with little regard for anything and does not seem to think any thing through.
Whether it is a comment to the media, or not helping and old lady across the street, or getting in a fight with members of the orginization that he plays for. He just thinks that he is above the rules becuase he is a SPOILED BOY KING!
