Amazon Prime Day 2018 (1 Viewer)

I've been trying to order an ILIFE robotic vacuum for the past 20 minutes.  I slowly keep seeing the number claimed increase close to 100%, so I'm probably out.

ETA: Finally got it to work and was able to order.

Not impressed, bought nothing

tbh, feels like Amazon tells everyone this is the day to buy stuff and get great deals, when in reality, they're just unloading a bunch of garbage on suckers.

I'm in the market for a new TV, nothing special that I couldn't find before today, should've just bought something last week, lesson learned.

At least it's not just me.

Glad I spent an hour adding all that stuff to a watch list.
Even though it's a fail so far, I still can't help myself.

I'm actually bookmarking my watched items in my browser and writing down the time the deal goes live as a reminder to I can see what the savings really is.

So the other thing I did several days ago was create a normal shopping list called "Prime."  I added stuff I wanted (irregardless of if it would show up on Primeday or not).  It's helping me because I can go to that list and see if something is suddenly marked down vs. what it was when I added it to the list.  Better than nothing.

to get to watch list click on "Hi ______ account and lists" then on the next page is the usual drop down arrow. This is what worked for me

Was looking to see what's out there for a 4k TV, possibly two.

Walmart.com it is, what a failure.

Griddle cooking is legit. I have a round, wood fired one that makes the best burgers and steaks I've ever had.
Yeah I think it looks cool but I wouldn’t want it to be my only grill.  Would be nice to do some outdoor breakfast (I mean I guess I could get some sort of flat skillet for my charcoal grill)

Pretty much, there looks to be some good deals on a few things but overall it’s pretty meh

Yeah, can't be your only grill. And we do deck breakfast all the time in the summer. I bust out the cast iron or use the griddle cooker.

Only for a short time right when the sale started did I get the 404 Dog pages. The rest of the time I have had no problems   Maybe because I am using smile.amazon.com instead of the regular site.

Did the Fire TV sell out or is it just temporarily out?  I spent the better part of the last 3 hours adding and re adding them to the cart only to have it disappear when I went to checkout.  Am I doing something wrong?

The site has been screwed up and down all day since Prime started.  It still says in stock and $34.99.   My guess is they have a bunch still available because people are having trouble even buying them because of the website problems.    If you happen to miss out for some reason call support in a couple of days and complain, I'm sure they will honor the price.

1st time I actually was shopping for something that became a prime day deal

rachio smart sprinkler controller for $150. $100 off

Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller, 16 Zone 2nd Generation, Works with Amazon Alexa https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019885NZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_MgutBb9SBFBAM
Picked up one myself.  Frankly I am surprised I found anything that I was actually looking for.  Considering the time invested in this bull#### sale I am not sure it was worth the $100 savings.

Prime day is pretty much an overblown #### show featuring 99% of their standard 5th party Chinese knock offs daily lightning deals designed to sound and look like something you might be familiar with but are pretty much universally piles of crap. Oooooo look the Zhingh-Wei J-Wave Smart Wi-Fi enabled Floxinator is 35% off!  Must.have.one

Oh and where the hell is my $10 coupon for shopping at Whole Foods last week that is allegedly in my Amazon and ready for me to use on Prime Day.  For more information go to amazon.com/primeday10 which leads you to, guess where?  ####### Amazon.com home page.

#### Jeff Bezos!

Passed on the TCL Roku 6-Series 10% off sale last week, which was the best price to date just because "Hey Prime Day!"

##### you Jeff Bezos!  (the fifth # is actually a hashtag #####youJeffBezos!)

Just an FYI Nipsey that the TCL Roku 5 & 6 series TVs are almost universally considered the best budget televisions on the market. They pretty much have all the whistles and bells and consistently get extremely high marks for picture quality.  Like very impressive reviews from people who do this stuff for a living.

You can get the 5 series 55" at Best Buy for $450 or the 6 series for $600.  I picked up the 55" 6 series a couple weeks ago for our downstairs rental flat and like it so much I am going to pick up the 65" 6 series ($950) for our main TV viewing room.

Amazon used to be a great company but they really are falling off. I see no reason to be a prime member especially at the higher cost. Many of my deliveries have been taking 3 days now. Things got worse and my cost went up? Makes no sense.

Thanks. Will check them out. I know they had a lesser TCL model on sale today. Maybe tomorrow they have a deal on 5 or 6 series? Seeing now they have the 5 series for $475 on amazon.

Not sure why this is surprising.  This is the reaction every year.  Prime Day has never actually had good deals.  From the get-go it's been nothing more than a way to dump Amazon branded product (fire, kindle, echo, etc) and boost sales for fiscal reports.

But, as Black Friday (which hasn't actually been any good for 5 years now) shows us, as long as you hype something up and give it a catchy name, people will think it's actually a bunch of good deals.

I managed to pick up some goldfish crackers and deodorant this year, so it actually exceeded my expectations.

I have been following the TCL 5 & 6 series for awhile now.  Best Buy is consistently cheaper, usually by about $50. However I just noted that there is a 65" 6 series for $900 on Amazon right now (not part of Prime Day).  I might have to jump on that.

Last week there was a sale on the 5 & 6 series which brought them to their best price to date ($810 for the 6 series 65").

ETA: I was wrong. The $900 65" TV is the 5 series the 6 series is $1,150 on Amazon ($950 at Best Buy).

I saved 140.00 on a mattress

It’s taking at least a day longer than normal for me recently.

I picked up my TCL at Costco - price was better.

https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-lcd-led-tv/ backs that up.  I got one a month ago and enjoyed the World Cup on it.
