American Horror Story: Hotel (Season 5) (1 Viewer)

When the dead girlfriend showed up at the front door, the hairs on my arm stood up.
I"m not easily scared, but I get goosebumps and hairs standing up quite often during this show.
the gimp freaks me out. Also the Dr Frankenstein sewing body parts of his baby to doll pieces
Pretty sure that was a hoof of a deer.
oh so he was sewn animal parts to the baby? creepier

Yeah that's what it looked like to me.

Yeah, that definitely looked like fur to me. I thought a rabbit or something but no real clue there.

I actually felt sorry for the mother at the end when she couldn't get her daughter to the grounds of the home before she passed.

Some other disjointed thoughts...

So why does the maid have two faces so to speak? Did she age after she died or was she already like that when killed? Simply, why is she different?

Speaking of the maid, it is hard to believe there hasn't been some conversation about the maid to make one of them think for a second.

It should be obvious now that the neighbors are alive but why the connection to the house and its collection of ghosts. Are there some she doesn't know about?

I am trying to not think too much about this show since that isn't what it is for but I do wonder about the couples thoughts about the house itself. He has done some weird stuff and has that burn guy telling him about going crazy. However, the only one that really has some idea that there are spirits in the house is the daughter. The wife has seen a bunch of them but never in situations that would force you to leap to ghosts, correct? Do they think it has been a rough patch and don't connect it to some supernatural presence in the home?

Finally, I liked Halloween giving the spirits the chance to leave the home. The maid was able to do something she probably thought about at least all year.

I thought it was a deer paw.

Go on YouTube and look up American Horror Story House calls. It was a "promotion" leading up to the show. You would ask them to scare someone you knew by having the Gimp scare them. It looks too professionally done to real IMHO. Here's one:

There have been many things that have been difficult for me to watch with this show but none more than the gay guy grabbing the husbands junk. That was creepy. Seriously how bad do you think they dreaded that scene?
How many times did you go back and watch it?
I so repulsed by it I was only able to stomach about 8 viewings, then I made it into a gif.

There was a conversation about men seeing what they want, and women seeing into the soul. Hence the hottie and the ugly..

I rarely try to poke holes in movies/shows but is the maid all that bad that she would have an ugly soul? She had and affair that she regretted, was about to get raped and then as she was trying to fight the man off she got shot in the face. I know that the affair is a big thing but seems like she is actually a decent person.

The connection to the house is she lived there, caught her husband banging the maid and killed them. The Maid looks different only to Men ( HOT! ) and women (old).

i think they are reshowing all four episodes tonight for those that missed any/all...

no signs of a last minute break in the impasse between direcTV and fox... if not resolved goes black at midnight tonight (no part II of halloween episode)...

maybe these are resolved more often than not, but time warner subscribers still can't watch thur night football years later...

sometimes when i miss a network show they have streamed episodes on website, but doesn't appear to be the case here...

show has elements of the shining, twin peaks... i like the twisted sense of humor...

* conversation i'd like to see while husband and wife are drinking coffee at breakfast around the table...

wife - that was so spontaneous when we had sex the second time that day after a year absence, and you were in the black suit...

husband - spits out coffee on ipad...

while on the subject, when inhabiting a horror show universe, a checklist of things you don't want to see from ultrasound tech after examining wife...

1 - horror-stricken look on face...

2 - crosses self and begins quietly praying intently and repetitively...

3 - firehose vomits on screen...

4 - seizure and goes into convulsions...

5 - the writers choice...

Was the hot young maid in the 4th episode at all?
No.This show is excellent. I really enjoy how everything gets tied in. The opening scenes of the episodes showing how previous owners were killed in the house and how they come back as the ghosts is great. So, the "thing" in the basement that scared Violet's bully and killed the twins in the pilot is the original family's child/creation? I'm looking forward to the revealing of the gimp's story as well. That should be coming tonight I'd think with Violet's disappearance from the house. Is he actually Tate?Hayden: Hotter as a ghost or alive? The look in her eyes at the end of that episode was pretty intense.

As someone else said, they used to live there. If they stick with what theyve done so far, we shouldnt see the daughter anymore in the show since she died off the property (yes!). I like the show enough where Im hoping they dont break this rule, that would be disappointing.
However, the only one that really has some idea that there are spirits in the house is the daughter.
Does she? There was the conversation with her mom when they were looking for a new place that she thought the house had character and wanted to stay there because they survived a traumatic experience, but I dont think there has been anything explicit demonstrating she thinks there are ghosts in the house. If anything, she would know Tate is one but asked him to do something together outside of the house last episode (Im assuming this will occur in tonights episode).
Finally, I liked Halloween giving the spirits the chance to leave the home. The maid was able to do something she probably thought about at least all year.
Yeah, and Im hoping thats the focus of tonights episode. For Tate, Im pretty sure they will, but I hope they do it with at least 1 more ghost as well.

Since when is she supposed to disappear?Yes, it would appear that theyre making out the gimp to be Tate, but who knows for sure.

She "disappeared" at the end of the last episode. She called her parents at the hospital telling them that Larry Harvey, the burned guy, was outside demanding money, and they rushed home. While she's backing away from the door, we saw the gimp in the background behind her. When the parents got home, they searched the house, including Violet's room, and she wasn't there (although, I don't think Ben searched too much downstairs). Then, there was a knock at the door and when Ben opened it, it was Hayden with a crazy grin on her face. So, we don't know for sure that she "disappeared," but it was hinted at and the gimp was right behind her last we saw her.

Yeah, I was a little sauced and forgot that. Another reason why its annoying that hulu and FX.com dont have the most recent episodes up yet. I dont get it, that only hurts the chances of them getting new viewers to watch. Pretty sure most shows are usually up within 24hrs of the original airing.

Well that explains that Tate is off his rocker. Doesn't even realize what he did. I imagine Violet will start using the Internet and start putting things together.

Has this been picked up for another season. I am really enjoying it

I read last week that it has been although no word on whether any or some of this season's cast will return. I thought it was another well-done episode but did anyone else think it was odd that so many things were going on in the house that other people didn't appear to be aware of? Violet returns home but doesn't hear her mom yelling after Haden or the dog barking was one example. I'm also interested to find out what Sylar may have done to the burned guy after he caught him trying to set the house on fire. Kate Mara looked damn creepy. Props to the makeup crew for that.

There was quite a bit of stuff happening, my head was spinning. I dont know how they can keep this show going next season.BTW good call by someone earlier who said Dr Frankensteins wife was a "good" ghost.

It also looks like 1920s wifey has decided that she will be the good ghost and help the family

I wonder why Constance had to leave the house even though her son was there.

I'm not so sure. Her motivation for untying the husband was to "save the baby." We know there's something going on with the Gimp Baby and I think the ghosts (and apparently Jessica Lange based on next week's previews) are heavily invested in keeping it alive.

I skipped the posts above so as not to spoil my veiwing of last night's episodes...but please tell me the young maid is in it.

Few other things of interest about Tate:

1. He apparently stopped aging in his teens. One of the high school girls he killed said she would be 34 now if he hadn't killed her. So at some point 15-20 years or so ago Tate stopped aging.

2. He may not be able to have sex based on him stopping things with Violet.

3. The only time we've seen him interact with anyone outside of the house was on Halloween when the dead walks the earth, according to the show. So I don't think we can rule out that he's a ghost - especially factoring in the first point. One of the other high school kids he killed said something about how they've been waiting for years to see him but he's never left the house or words to that effect.

I see you missed the third point I listed. We don't know anything about Tate. Everything to this point has been speculative. However, I'd say based on the last two episodes it's pretty clear to me that he is a ghost based on the first and third points I listed and maybe the second one too (although that didn't stop the Gimp from nailing the wife).

No I saw your third point. Doesn't me I can't find "Umm hes dead dude" funny.

Given how that's what I was also saying I didn't see the point of the comment to begin with. To each their own, I guess.
I didnt think there was any question he was a ghost. That was the consensus pretty much since episode 2. Newsflash: Sylar is also a ghost.
Thanks for the tip.I agree it's been a pretty good belief Tate was a ghost but it hadn't been confirmed. It still hasn't been but there were a ton of strong clues provided last night. That's all I was getting at.Hell, for all we know just about everyone on the show could be a ghost.

And I hope that after last night's episode there isn't anybody that didn't realize Tate is a ghost. You just took the time to list the obvious.
I took the time to list the things I found interesting and that provided more clues about what he might be. My bad.

I wonder why Tate doesn't remember going Columbine on the kids.

"Oh, yeah, 100 cop cars in front of the Murder House on Halloween. How's that gonna look" :lmao:

Great episode. Loving this show.
