ANARCHY LEAGUE 4 (1 Viewer)

After 10 rounds of 16 teams... There really isn't a lot left in the player pool... especially when I was trying to draft a bit unconventionally to compete... could be a long season for me lol.

I am liking my gamble of Bell and Rhoads as I think they will both be starters. Some how I will end up with crap at WR and TE. I should of held off on the QB's. The only 2 WR's I have that are good, have the same buy week. My gamble on Blaylock not looking good as the next day they trade for Barlow. My first 16 team draft, and I think it show's.

Exactly... 16 teams is a whole new beast to me... And drafting from the 2 spot means that I have about 30 picks before I sniff the board again so I have to attempt to do a lot of projecting, which is difficult in a league with such a unique format... I probably went too early on the defenses... seeing as I have nothing after LJ at RB and nothing at all at WR...

Live and learn :banned:

Well, we had another timer incident . . . this time involving jevy. He got listed as timing out but he wasn't on the clock anywhere near his full 4 hours and he got timed out prematurely. He emailed me his pick, which coincided with SAMM's, so we need SAMM to give me another pick.

Since so many of you are struggling, I figured I'd stop by and release the perfect draft. :D

Code:
Broncos, Denver DEN TMQB - 4Jets, NY NYJ TMQBDroughns, Reuben CLE RB - 6 Johnson, Larry KCC RB - 3 Smith, Musa BAL RB - 7 Taylor, Chester MIN RB - 6 Baskett, Hank PHI WR - 9 Caldwell, Reche NEP WR - 6 Houshmandzadeh, T.J. CIN WR - 5 Stokley, Brandon IND WR - 6 Walker, Javon DEN WR - 4 Wilson, Cedrick PIT WR - 4 Clark, Dallas IND TE - 6 Pollard, Marcus DET TE - 8 Elam, Jason DEN PK - 4 Vinatieri, Adam IND PK - 6 Chargers, San Diego SDC Def - 3 Chiefs, Kansas City KCC Def - 3

I found another possible problem while looking at the rosters. I thought we were only allowed a total of 4 RB's and Seahawks has 5. Yea or Nay?

From the other league:

David Yudkin Aug 4 2006, 12:58 PM Post #61

Each team needs the following 17 players:

Number of Starting TMQBs: 2

Number of Starting RBs: 4

Number of Starting WRs: 5

Number of Starting TEs: 2

Number of Starting PKs: 2

Number of Starting Defs: 2

In addition, each team is allowed one flex, either a RB, WR, or TE.

If someone picked 5 straight RB, that team now has its RB and FLEX completed and needs all the other spots going forward.

The system is *SUPPOSED* to prevent people from having too many at any position, so if this team ends up with another RB somehow, let me know ASAP, as that is a no no.

You can elect to fill your flex spot whenever you want, but whoever that player is, that's who you get--there's no changing the player.

good morning gentlemen,

Using regular season totals from last year for defenses, my team projects to score over 100 points more than yours using the most recent FBG projections. And that's with my corps of bottom feeder RBs. (This of course means nothing, as what happens on the field is what counts and there's nothing added for playoff contributions.) Not saying that you have a bad team, only that "perfect" is pretty subjective . . .

David

Please add Michael Koenen (PK Atlanta) as my 16th round pick, since he is not on the player list.

Thanks.

Anarchy veterans, please critique:

Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB TMQB - 4

Chiefs, Kansas City KCC TMQB - 3

Happy with my QB's. Don't think they are really that important in this format

Dillon, Corey NEP RB - 6

Gore, Frank SFO RB - 7

Henry, Travis TEN RB - 7

Jacobs, Brandon NYG RB - 4

Okay, this is where I'm worried. It's boom or bust here. I still think Dillon has one good year left, but Maroney is knocking on the door. Gore is still an unknown but I think has huge potential.

Clayton, Michael TBB WR - 4

Colbert, Keary CAR WR - 9

Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR - 9

Holmes, Santonio PIT WR - 4

Johnson, Chad CIN WR - 5

Parker, Samie KCC WR - 3

This is my bread and butter. I'm stacked and just hope my WRs can carry this team.

Fasano, Anthony DAL TE - 3

Wiggins, Jermaine MIN TE - 6

Very happy with Wiggins. I think Fasano will get some looks as Parcells will be throwing in some 2 TE sets.

Bironas, Rob TEN PK - 7

Rackers, Neil ARI PK - 9

It is what it is.

Saints, New Orleans NOS Def - 7

Vikings, Minnesota MIN Def - 6

Minny D is going to be good this year ( I know, I know that sounds really stupid)

Okay boys, pick it apart.

I'm certainly no expect on how to evaluate the teams, as there have been so many strategies and only one year of history to really tell what works and what doesn't. But in any event . . .

Buccaneers, Tampa Bay TBB TMQB - 4

Chiefs, Kansas City KCC TMQB - 3

QBs may not be the most important, but IMO it's important to not get stuck with one of the bottom feeders. TB and KC are both potential playoff teams, so you might get some extra mileage out of them that would give them extra value. These team ranked 19th and 25th last year, so you may not be near the top in socring for QB but it may not hurt you that much.

Dillon, Corey NEP RB - 6

Gore, Frank SFO RB - 7

Henry, Travis TEN RB - 7

Jacobs, Brandon NYG RB - 4

Given the scoring system, I think that guys as mediocre starters are not worth as much (compared to other positions) and only the top RB are really worth dying for. Beyond that, I could see waiting on RB and not getting too upset if you couldn't get the guy(s) you wanted. Dillon should still be ok and get TDs, Gore could have a breakout year, Henry could be traded, and Jacobs could get some cheap TDs. Probably not the best crop of RB but again probably not a deal breaker either. Dillon should make the post season and again get some extra points if he holds of Maroney and stays healthy (both legit concerns).

Clayton, Michael TBB WR - 4

Colbert, Keary CAR WR - 9

Fitzgerald, Larry ARI WR - 9

Holmes, Santonio PIT WR - 4

Johnson, Chad CIN WR - 5

Parker, Samie KCC WR - 3

CJ and Fitz are monsters and Clayton should do much better than last year if healthy. I know Parker is a trendy breakout candidate *although I don't personally see it coming this year). Holmes I think is in the doghouse and won't play much and Colbert may be the odd man out in CAR and could be their 4th WR. Obviously the top two guys here have to carry this team. IMO, CJ should again put up similar numbers but I wonder how much time Palmer will miss (if any) and if that will impact his numbers. I also happen to think that Fitz' production will take a minor hit this year but in a league this size that's really no big deal.

Fasano, Anthony DAL TE - 3

Wiggins, Jermaine MIN TE - 6

Wiggins should again get near 70 receptions for a quick 140 points plus yardage and TDs. I am not expecting much from Fasano but anything is possible. Certainly not in the same league as Wiggins but he was a late round flyer.

Bironas, Rob TEN PK - 7

Rackers, Neil ARI PK - 9

Of all the positions in this format, I think PK is the least important provided you get two guys that have steady jobs. We know Rackers isn't losing his job and Bironas should keep his, and as long as he does this pair is more than adequate.

Saints, New Orleans NOS Def - 7

Vikings, Minnesota MIN Def - 6

Maybe the Vikes will do better (they say that every year). The Saints though I don't hold out much hope for. Certainly not a Bears/Panthers pairing and likely not near the head of the class in comparison to other teasm in the league.

IMO, the teams that will do well are the ones that get players that will play the most. That being said, there are a few guys that could see minimal action and that could pose a problem. I do like the strategy of getting top WR. But I may not have taken Colbert and Holmes and instead taken guys that might play more.

That's my two cents, and without really looking at all the teams I am hard pressed to make any comments on projected finish. I also did not run any numbers on how each team would be projected to do, but all in all I think that this team is probably above average.

My turn.

I think I'll be fine during the season, but get little support for the playoffs.

Dolphins, Miami MIA TMQB

Lions, Detroit DET TMQB

Miami should put up good numbers. Hopefully, the Lions are getting the bad games out of the way in the preseason. :bag:

Barlow, Kevan NYJ RB

Hicks, Maurice SFO RB

Johnson, Rudi CIN RB

Smith, Musa BAL RB

Happy with Rudi. The rest are fillers.

Driver, Donald GBP WR

Harrison, Marvin IND WR

Jennings, Greg GBP WR

Smith, Rod DEN WR

White, Roddy ATL WR

3 qualities guys, a rookie who might put up good stats, and a guy having Vick throw him the ball. 4 #1 WR's should get me a bunch 'o points, so I'm happy.

Klopfenstein, Joe STL TE

Smith, Alex TBB TE

Troupe, Ben TEN TE

I saw Klop sitting there in the 17th, so I thought I'd take a shot at him. Hopefully for Troupe to get more balls then Kinney, and Smith's stats to increase.

Kasay, John CAR PK

Lee, Reshard OAK RBMichael Koenen ATL PK

Couple guys who can kick the ball a long way.

Chargers, San Diego SDC Def

Dolphins, Miami MIA Def

Decent pairing.

Thoughts? Comments? Critique.

:stalker:

No one has any comments on their draft?

Does anyone have the team projections?

Or is everyone conceding second place to me? :D

I ran the teams in the DD with the latest projections with "team" QB projections for the starter on each team to account for our scoring method. Hopefully I didn't miss a pick for anyone.

And the results are..............

Chris Black - 2944

Blinky - 2922

Final Hound - 2842

Trey - 2798

ffgiant - 2795

Rude Dog - 2785

Iwannabeacowboy - 2771

Raskell - 2743

Norsemen - 2739

Aussie Cowboy - 2709

jevy - 2702

podunker - 2688

CommuterMan - 2654

secret agent money - 2585

seahawk 17 - 2555

Steel City - 2555

I take them with a grain of salt b/c they are simply preseason projections, and b/c we have no idea how factoring in playoff performance will affect things.

That being said, I REALLY like my team. Several of my key players are on what I think will be playoff teams (Pit., Den., SD, and Jax.). I thought D. Carr had the most "upside" of all of the bottom 3rd QB's, but his preseason performance has tempered my expectations. Maybe they will be bad enough on D that they will be playing catch-up and have to throw the ball alot. If Stevens returns from injury on schedule, and if L. White and Givens play up to their potential then I think I have as good a shot at winning as anyone (Barring injuries).

Good luck to all!!

The Dung Beetles look much better now that DD is on the outs in Houston. If TO gets his butt in gear and gets on the field I could be tough to beat.

Weird. The other Anarchy leagues have been updated after the Thursday game. I wonder why this league hasn't been updated?
