Hey Guys,

Good news. The Footballguys Interviews roll on! This time, it'll be Sportsline.com's Senior NFL Writer, Pete Prisco that'll be answering YOUR questions on the NFL.

As we always do for these interviews, post your questions here in this thread and we'll compile and let Mr. Prisco tackle as many as he can. We'll nail down a time and date here soon that he'll be answering your questions.

If you've followed the NFL for very long, you know he's a guy with tons of insights on just about every team. So fire away.

It seems that there are more than the normal share of teams looking to use RBBC this year. In your opinion, which of these teams, come the regular season, are most likely to stray towards one key back and which will most likely stick to splitting the duties?

Is this really the reputation that Prisco has around here? I am sure Pete is a very nice guy, but I stopped reading his stuff a while ago. I am looking forward to the interview, maybe I will change my mind on him. Thanks Joe.

After the draft you said taking Vince Young would come back to bite Tenn. in the butt and said Denver "blew it" by taking Cutler. Where do you see Leinart,Young and Cutler in 3 years?

Zach Thomas had a career year while playing hurt and without Tim Bowens in front of him. Do you still think Zach is overrated?

The learning curve for rookie wide receivers is very difficult, and few (other than Randy Moss and Anquan Boldin in recent memory) are dominant in their first season. Which of this year's second-year receivers do you think are positioned to break out, and why?

Do you see the Eagles trading for any WR before the season starts, namely Ashlie Lelie or Jerry Porter?

What is his impression of the KC Chiefs who did not upgrade at WR, lost their HC and OC, lost Roaf to retirement, how is this offense going to be able to produce anywhere close to what it has in the past?

How bad is Oakland, SanFran and St.Louis on defense? They look awul and they all have gone from bad/mediocre to worse in the off season. Will this impact the out put of their offenses in terms of FF?

And finally who does he think the Miami Dolphins will take with the 32nd pick in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft?

Those are my top3 questions. Keep those interviews coming Joe.

Was last year an aberration for Joe Horn, or was it the beginning of a declining trend? How do the coaching & QB changes as well as the impact of Bush and Stallworth's maturation affect his production in the upcoming year?

Of all the teams undergoing coaching regime changes this year, which of the teams do you see significantly increasing their offensive production in '06? Which of the teams do you see having reduced offensive production? Why?

For all the teams, which offenses will surprise this year in terms of passing yardage and TDs? Which will disappoint? Why?

In the fantasy world last year some were caught off guard by the decrease in passing stats from the Indianapolis Colts, an occurence that most attribute to improved play on the defensive side of the ball. Which NFL teams do you see undergoing a similar transition this year if any? Why?

What is your take on Martz' ability to transform the underperforming offensive unit in Detroit? How long will it take and how tight are the reigns in terms of having decision making power for the offensive play calling.

Tight End is a position that has rapidly changed in the fantasy world over the past few years in terms of overall productivity. Do you see any deep sleepers at the position that fantasy pundits might be overlooking?

Do you believe the Dallas Cowboys have done enough this offseason to improve their team and get them into the playoffs, and perhaps to a super bowl?

How well do you think Akin Ayodele will fit into the Cowboys defensive scheme?

Falcons WR pecking order behind Jenkins & White?

Side on the above - any rumblings starting up again on a Duckett for Lelie trade?

Falcons TE pecking order behind Crump?

1. Do you think Kitna can step back in and put up anything close to the kind of numbers in Detroit that he had in Cincy before Palmer displaced him? Martz has been known to call a pass play or two.

2. Which RB do you think will be the year's biggest surprise? Biggest bomb?

3. Which offensive rookies do you expect to make an immediate impact?

4. When T.O. and Tuna fistfight on the sidelines in Dallas, who's your money on?

thanks

Bears fan here:

Is there any real reason to expect that the Bears offense will be able to produce more points than last year (and by real reason I mean to exclude Florida QBs who have less than half a season's experience after three years in the league)?

Of the following disgruntled players, who could realistically be wearing a new uniform by the start of the season? End of the season? Offseason?

Lelie, Porter, TJones, Chris Brown

What is your take on the Dom Davis injury situation? If he is not ready to go, who do you see stepping in for him?

What is your take on the Detroit Wide Receiver situation? Most notably who will be #2, and will both Rogers and Mike Williams make the team?

How do you see the 49er running game playing out?

How successful do you think Drew Brees will be in NO?

With Edge gone to Arizona do you see the Colts throwing the ball more this year?

Pete -

What are the odds that the Redskins look to Campbell to take over the QB position from Brunell? I assume then we could expect a dramatic downturn in the fantasy production for Portis, Moss, Lloyd, Randle El and Cooley.

Pete---

How short of a string is Art Shell going to have with Aaron Brooks? Is Walter going to get a shot early in the year if Brooks implodes mentally or do you think Shell will give Brooks several opportunities. If Walter gets the nod, wouldn't that hurt Lamont Jordan's production similar to the issues Portis would have with a QB change in Washington?

What are your thoughts on the new Dallas 2TE set. Who is the biggest beneficiary of this? Who is hurt the most?

Hey Pete,

Thanx for taking the time to share your insights and benefit of your league-wide connections with FBG... I appreciate your take on ascendant players before they are discovered and the fact that you aren't afraid to take controversial & sometimes contrarian views on popular players...

Who are some of your favorite sleepers this season at the QB, RB, WR & TE positions...

In the spirit of your outstanding, annual "better than" articles, who are some rookies & vets that really stand out for you in this department...

How about a couple defensive players, whether vets or rookies, that are flying under the radar as far as the national media are concerned, that you expect to really blow up this year...

Are juniors Calvin Johnson and Duane Jarrett the "real deal" and do they look like the cream of the 2007 WR class if they decide to turn pro a year early?

Keep up the great work... :)

Which of the new NFL head coaches do you think is most likely to succeed? Least likely?

Are the 2006 Packers really the most talented team that Brett Favre has played on in his career? Is there something that we are missing?

Given the way that the playoff teams change so much every year, what 2005 playoff teams do you think will miss out this year and which new teams will be in the playoffs this year?

1. Will Roy Williams be given the opportunity to put up Torry Holt-like numbers in Detroit this year?

2. How do you see the Saints using Reggie Bush in correlation to Duece McAllister?

3. Who do you see having a better career, Cadillac or Ronnie?

Thanks

Do you see the Colts continuing to run a lot of 2 TE sets this year with Clark and Fletcher, or without Edge in the backfield do they open up more 3 WR sets to get Stokley on the field?

Is Ben Watson ready to become Tom Brady's #2 option in New England?

Dear Mr. Prisco:

Do you think Brett Farve is regrettinng coming back for one more season?

GB is in transition, NO O line, NO WR after D. Driver, NO healthy RB. I really like Brett and wish he can end his career with at least a playoffs run but he does not have the supporting cast to improve his dismal 2005 numbers.

Please give me insight on what you expect for Brett's 2006 stats an GB overall performance.

Hi Pete,

Seems many were very high on him in the offseason (based on what they were asking for in trade), when do you see Matt Shaub starting in the NFL?

Pete,

your May 2006 power rankings for CBS Sportsline.com had the Redskins ranked the lowest of the four NFC East teams. Do you continue to believe they're the weakest team in their division, and if so what weaknesses are unique to them in that division?

Love,

redman

Pete,

What are you hearing on Ahman Green's torn quad tendon? Is it looking like he'll make a 100% recovery?

In additioon, Davenport seems to be skipping quite a few of the TC practices. Are the Coaches / Trainers just being xtra cautious with him, or is there a legitimate concern over his healing from his own injury.

Gado or Herron? If push came to shove, which of these to is really ahead in the Green Bay RB derby?

TIA.

Do you think Samkon Gado has the talent and durability to succeed ,as the Packers running game ,IF

Green and Davenport aren't used?

Where do you see Drew Carter in Carolina's lineup in 2 years?

Do you see Javon Walker gradually nudging Rod Smith out of the spotlight in Denver this year?

Joe, and everyone else, I'm not trying to make waves here, just voicing my opinion. If you don't want to hear it, then I apologize, and please feel free to delete my comments.
